Jaime Moreno is now the all-time leading goals scorer in the MLS. The 33-year-old DC United forward
scored his 109th netter last night in his club's win over the New York Red Bulls. As many goals as
his age, 33, have been from the spot.

A Palestinian football club, who was scheduled to play friendlies against Chester City and the
Blackburn Rovers, was denied entry into England by British Authorities.
League leaders Arsenal take on 12th place Tottenham in the second North London derby of the season
as the Gunners try to stay clear of Manchester United.
Arsenal beat Spurs 3-1 at White Heart Lane after coming back from a goal deficit. Tottenham will be
trying to get revenge this time around at the Emirates, but will have a tough time, with the
Gunners on a fine run of form.
Netherlands vs. Bulgaria, 1430 EST
Amsterdam Arena - Amsterdam
A win here for the Dutch puts them in a decent position to advance. Playing at home and having one
of the best squads in the world, you've got to think they'll pull it off, but with the Oranje, you
never know. They were unimpressive in their recent loss to Switzerland, but it was only a
meaningless friendly.
United continue to be linked with Miguel Veloso of Sporting Lisbon, the Reds are set to take on
the Portuguese club in the Champions League next week and no doubting this will further fuel the
speculation that Fergie is interested in acquiring yet another central midfield holding player.
So why exactly would United need Veloso given that they already have Owen Hagreaves and Michael
Carrick?
Norway 2, Greece 2
Wow, what a first half. As the score indicates, neither team is playing very solid defense. Norway
appears to be the more dominate side and probably should be ahead had Carew not squandered a
one-on-one with the Greek keeper. It was a tough angle though. This has been an intense affair so
far as nearly two 'disagreements' have occurred.
Two stunning goals from Cesc Fabregas and Emanuel Adebayor helped Arsenal to overcome a 1-0 deficit
and beat Tottenham 3-1 at White Heart Lane. Arsene Wenger opted for a different line-up than I
expected, opting to play Abou Diaby and Mathieu Flamini in the midfield alongside Fabregas and Alex
Hleb. The defense was as expected, Kolo Toure and Gilberto at centre-back, with Gael Clichy on the
left
The Daily Mail is reporting that Arsene Wenger quite fancies a bit of Berbatov, and isn't afraid to
mount an audacious bid. Wenger said of Berbatov's performance in the weekend's North London derby:
"Berbatov is a bit like Thierry, he doesn't turn up where you want him to be. Left, right, centre,
he [.
Slovenia vs. Belarus, Arena Petrol - Celje
Bulgaria vs. Luxembourg, Vasil Levski National Stadium - Sofia
Albania vs. Netherlands, Qemal Stafa - Tirana
Wow, what a crappy way to end my previews. I would personally rather slip n' slide on a gravel
driveway naked than watch Belarus take on Slovenia. If Hleb is playing, the visitors should win,
1-0.
Arsenal have begun the season well, coming into our 5th match tied on points with leaders
Liverpool, despite having played a game less than Tottenham, Chelsea, and last years Barclay's
Premier League champions, Manchester United. The only 2 points that Arsenal have dropped were due
to an error from Jens Lehmann against Blackburn, and otherwise Arsenal have beaten Fulham,
high-flying Manchester
Oh dear, only 24 hours after Berbatov says that all the talk of him wanting to leave Spurs because
he's unhappy is untrue and just when Spurs fans might have hoped that the issue has been put to bed
for a few weeks, and then what do you know, his brother pipes up and says 'he's outgrown Spurs and
wants to join Manchester United'. Is it a PR disaster, or is it part of a cunning plan on the part
of the Bulgarian striker and his camp?
So today former Spurs star Michael Carrick has gone public via the press telling Berbatov that he
should follow him to Old Trafford. It's not exactly news that United want to sign the Bulgarian. It
has been widely speculated that the Red Devils had an enquiry turned down for the striker last
summer. Since then a lot has changed at the North London club with the sacking of Martin Jol and
the arrival of his replacement Ramos, following on from the change of manager there has been the
usual talk suggesting that Berbatov wants out, only for the striker to then say that all is well.
A short update due as I am travelling but a couple things that have caught my eye...
- Chelski looks to spend some ridiculous money on the Brazilian phenom.
- Barca denies
- David Warner wrap-ups Saturday & Sundays premier league action
- Berbatov to remain a Spur
- Fergie says injury woes are coming to an end
Spurs were unlucky to leave Anfield with just a point. The game with Liverpool was an extremely
entertaining, end to end encounter packed with goals and incidents. Liverpool started the game
better, and Voronin put Liverpool ahead as he was the quickest to react from Robinson blunder. A
Gerrard freekick was deflected off the Spurs wall and Robinson reacted well to get to the ball, but
couldn't hand on to it and gifted the ball straight to an alert Voronin.
Arsenal completed the double over arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur as they escaped from a nervy
encounter with three points. The Gunners, who were heavy favorites to win the match despite
Tottenham's recent resurgence, went a goal up just after halftime when Emmanuel Adebayor scored his
tenth league goal of the season, but Dimitar Berbatov levelled in the 66th.
