After covering the Barcelona versus Real Madrid topic, it is only logical if Lionel Messi and
Cristiano Ronaldo were discussed due to their pivotal role in both teams. The two wingers are
currently playing for two of the best clubs in Spain and two of the most popular outfits in the
world.
With the arrival of the weekend, football fans across the world are returning to following their
respective teams in another series of cracking fixtures. However, excitement is going to reach a
whole different level next weekend, when the much awaited FIFA 10 releases in Australia (October 1)
and Europe (October 2).
It is mouth-watering just to imagine a match featuring the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka,
Xabi Alonso and Karim Benzema taking on an opposing team which includes Lionel Messi, Thierry
Henry, Xavi Hernandez and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to name just a few.
The dream of many football fanatics has come true following a spending frenzy by Los Blancos
which included the record signing of Portuguese Ronaldo from Manchester United.
When the £80m transfer deal for Cristiano Ronaldo was confirmed United fans were writing out
their shopping list of players they wanted Sir Alex Ferguson sign. We could do with another winger,
another central midfielder, another striker, maybe a right-back, but our transfer kitty meant we
could buy as many players as we wanted.
The excitement is in the air as Champions League football is just few days
away. The most coveted title in club football is up for grabs and some seven or eight teams are
hoping to steal the title from Barcelona. On the other hand, this is the first
season when the new qualifying format was introduced and as a result, several teams from minor
leagues have been given the chance to test their skills against the best teams in Europe.
Real Madrid spent the summer spending their money. REALLY spending
their money. After forking over 136 Million Euros on Ronaldo and Kaka' the boys in Madrid didn't
stop. They also acquired Karim Benzema in a move that could only compete with the New York
Yankees.
Abou Diaby: Serbia attack's most dangerous weapon?
This upcoming weekend will be filled with World Qualifiers up until Tuesday so I will not
comment much on Le Championnat from last weekend that saw a very disappointing 0 – 0 between
Marseille and Bordeaux, a very convincing 3 - 0 win by PSG against Lille, St Etienne's first 3
points versus a sad Grenoble and more Lyon magic thanks to Lisandro Lopez (ARG), Gomis (FRA)
and Bastos (BRA).
A sublime curling effort from substitute Kaka and a Karim Benzema brace within the course of 11
second-half minutes gave title contenders Real Madrid a 3-0 home win over newly promoted Tenerife
in the Spanish La Liga earlier today. The win ensures that Real Madrid's perfect start to the 09/10
La Liga season continues and puts [.
Alot has been made of Barcelona and Real Madrid's rivalry this season, rightly so, as the starting
XI's are surely the best two starting XI's in the world. And after Barcelona stuck 5 past Atlético
Madrid yesterday, we all might have wondered how Real would react. Well, by putting 5 past [...]
Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo notched a brace to lead Real Madrid to a 5-0 win over La Liga newcomers
Xerez at the Bernabeu yesterday. Ronaldo's first goal came in the opening minute from a neat run
followed by a powerful low shot. However, Xerez performed well for the next 74 minutes of the game
to ensure that the [.
Seven games tonight of Round 4 in the "Liga" with its usual mix ofaction, goals & last minute
surprises. Here is a summary of tonights scores & results:REAL MADRID left Benzema & Raul on the
bench to change its system to 4-3-3 ( or 4-2-3-1) & saw how defender Garay injuried himself inthe
warm up. This lead to a "revolutionary change" in the defence with Casillas, Lass Diarra, Albiol,
Ramos &
The Sporting Index traders have priced up the outright Champions League win index and have
installed the two big Spanish sides as the favourites.

The current champions, Barcelona, did spread bettors a big favour last season, comfortably
winning La Liga, as well as producing an assured performance to beat Man United in the final in
Rome.
Hardly a flattering pose from Benzema BonBon, The Children's Party Entertainer,
but the Madrid-Xerez match up yesterday was full of it! Los Blancos pulled off a 5-0 win thanks to
other goals from van Nistelrooy, Greaseano, Guti. It wasn't a "five star" performance but
Kaka's hair needs to visit the salon ahora por favor.
Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy returned after a long
spell on the sidelines to provide an assist and score another in his side's emphatic 5-0 victory
over La Liga minnows Xerez. While the focus of the game initially remained on
another former Manchester United star, Cristiano Ronaldo who
scored twice to make it six goals in his four
appearances it was his Dutch teammate who eventually created most of the
headlines.

Hotter than Enrique Igelsias, It's Spanish football...
The big two just keep on winning as Villereal, Atletico Madrid and Valencia all drop points. Too
early to tell but the traditional two Spanish-horse race is taking shape.
Deportivo La Coruna 1 0 Villarreal
Zaragoza 3 0 Getafe C.
Another week of Spain's Primera Division is in the books and many of the strongest clubs
continued their relentless speedy rabbit pace towards the top of the league table and many
mediocre clubs continued their tortoise pace falling towards the bottom of the league table. So
without further adieu lets find out the winner and losers from last weekend.
