Despite the number of names that were tipped to leave Tottenham during this transfer window,
things have been very quiet. It certainly doesn't look like we'll sell more than one player at
most, so yesterday I set up a poll to determine who you would most like to see leave.
One of my motivations was to test the water regarding the popularity of Robbie Keane.
Team selection was never really an issue when we were banging them in left, right and centre and
the side picked itself, but times are a-changing. While annus horribilis is probably a bit
strong, our form since the turn of the year has been worrying, reflected not only by poor results
and sloppy performances but now scrutiny of the line-up.

Can the real Liverpool team please stand up? A week after beating Spurs 2-0 at home and looking
once again like contenders for that 4th Champions League spot, Liverpool traveled to Wolves and
could only manage a 0-0 draw.
Even with captain Steven Gerrard back in the line-up, Liverpool lacked that cutting edge in
front of goal, something that Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez alluded to in his post-match press
conference.
At the start of the season, an away trip to newly promoted Birmingham City would be viewed as no
great challenge, but the form of Alex McLeish's team means that they must be treated as a very
serious threat.
Their midweek defeat to Chelsea brought an end to an unbeaten run stretching back 15 games.
Really not sure how to call this one. Back in August I would have pencilled in Birmingham away
as a solid point and a good chance for all three, but it's a different kettle of fish here in
January 2010. Our win over Fulham was bizarrely comfortable, but hardly suggested that the
Tottenham juggernaut is revved up to full throttle, ready to blitz aside all-comers.
You think a 29 year old man would understand the ramification of cheating on his wife Toni Terry
with Wayne Bridge's ex-girlfriend, Vanessa Perroncel. Not John Terry, he has always been a bad-boy.
From mocking the 9/11 victims or publicly urinating, Terry has no regard for the rules. He parks
his Bentley wherever he wants and has sex with whomever he wants.
A penny for ‘Arry's thoughts, ahead of the Third Round of the Cup. Not the predictable dross
with which he closes his little team-news spiel on the club's official website – "Hopefully we'll
turn in another terrific performance" – but rather his sentiments regarding a successful Cup run
and, say, a Quarter-Final replay, or Semi-Final date in April, adding a spot of fixture congestion
at a time when we, presumably, will be making a final push for the top four.
New rumour has one-time English international David Bentley heading to Spain in a loan move away
from White Hart Lane.
The stories currently doing the rounds are that both Sunderland and Athletico Madrid are
interested in the most disappointing Tottenham signing since Helder Postiga.
David Bentley was meant to be the man to take Spurs to the next level. Arguably the best right
sided player in the Premier League at the time of his arrival at White Hart Lane in July 2008, he
was expected to oust Aaron Lennon and become Spurs' star man.
It's that time of the year when all football lovers are going mad searching for all the latest
transfer gossip. Who is going where and who is bidding for whom? As the transfer window opened with
the start of the new decade, there has been a lot of buzz on the football ground. From the [...]
According to Simon Johnson at the London Evening Standard, Sunderland have
stepped up their efforts to sign Tottenham defender Alan Hutton
and midfielder David Bentley.
However it is reported that Tottenham want £4million for Hutton and £10million for
Bentley.

Another poor result, another mass condemnation of Robbie Keane (this site included). It got me
wondering as to how unpopular the man is at the moment, so I've set up a poll which asks you to
choose one player that you'd like to see sold during the January window.
Amongst the options are expensive bench-warmers such as Bentley, Hutton and Pavlyuchenko, along
with Keane and the ever popular Jermaine Jenas.
(Yes yes, it's about a year late. Sorry. Finishing touches being applied to the opus Spurs'
Cult Heroes)
It appears that "Just one of those days" is lined up to become ‘Arry's Triffic Phrase of the
Season 2009/10, following the success of "Two points, eight games" last year. The official company
line at least appears to be that the blank drawn against Hull is not something about which to get
too worked up, and in a sense one can appreciate the point – we may not have been at our fluid
best, but Gomes spent most of the game in smoking-jacket and slippers, puffing contentedly on cigar
and squinting down the far end of the pitch.
Tottenham continue to stake their claim for a top four spot with a comfortable home win over
Fulham at White Hart Lane.

A straightforward victory for Spurs, with Fulham offering very little in attack; the Cottagers
don't travel well, even on cross-London journeys. The Yids' goals were scored by a couple of
unfashionable Englishmen: Peter Crouch, who pounced from close range midway through the first half,
and then David Bentley you might recall the name.
Well that wasn't so bad after all. After getting myself all worked up yesterday, we ended up
winning rather easily. We never really got out of second gear, but as Fulham never slipped out of
first, we were still able to put some distance between us.
We got off to a strong start with the returning Hudd firing in a stinging shot, which was pushed
round for a corner.
Tottenham Hotspurs seem set to lose midfielder Jamie O'Hara and striker David Bentley as both have
got clubs interested in them for the next season. O'Hara will be Portsmouth first signing after the
transfer ban on them is partially lifted. Pompey's please were heard by the authorities to lift the
ba after they proved that [.

David Bentley? That pampered, self-centred Arsenal and Spurs reject? According to the UK tabloids,
West Ham is rumoured to be trying to bring David Bentley to West Ham on a loan deal. Spurs and
Harry Redknapp are currently reported also to be enticing Eidur Gudjohnsen over to White Hart Lane
in a hijack move.
Curiouser and curiouser. You think you've seen it all at the Lane, you brace yourself for the
worst – and are then treated to a completely serene, straightforward, almost routine home win, as
far removed from the All-Action-No-Plot mentality as is possible.
It Was The Midfield What Won It
Ledley and Daws were generally rock-solid (the latter a little excitable, in his unique,
loveable way) and at the other end Defoe barely touched the ball; but in the middle we held the
upper hand, player-for-player and as a unit.
It is Saturday again and an evening of some great Premier League action. Starting the proceedings
are Tottenham going to Birmingham City. The hosts are low after a beating from Chelsea but The
Spurs are also shaky right now. They are aiming for some smart signings after talks of Jamie O Hara
and David Bentley [.
