Still 1 point! May b at the end of the season. This point ll b importante for us! Stay positif!!!!LoL coys Benoit Assou-Ekotto (@AssouEkotto) December 9, 2012 Tottenham left-back Benoit Assou Ekotto has previously mentioned that he doesn't much care for watching football when he's not playing, but he's taken things to a new [.
szólj hozzá: Tottenham vs West Brom 1:1 GOALS HIGHLIGHTS
West Brom keeper Ben Foster done his England chances no harm at all in front of the current
England manager Roy Hodgson but could do nothing about Benoit Assou-Ekotto's deflected strike from
range.
West Brom did grab a point though scoring a last minute goal after a goal-line scramble, James
Morrison kept cool to put the ball in the back of the net much to the disappointment to Spurs
fans.

The on / off transfer of Lyon's Hugo Lloris may be classed in the ‘off' category at the moment
but a surprise suggestion doing the rounds claims that Spurs may be returning to the French club
for their left back Aly Cissokho.
Those claims go on to suggest that talks with the club and Benoit Assou-Ekotto  are stalling
and that Cissokho could be a direct, like-for-like replacement at left back.
Despite spending the best part of the week holed up in bed with the dreaded lurgy, Benoit
Assou-Ekotto dragged himself from his pit on Saturday night, wandered into an East London pub,
ordered himself a little pink cocktail and then completely obliterated all comers over on the table
football.
In last year's player of the season poll on this site, Benoit Assou-Ekotto came second –
albeit a very distant second behind eventual winner Luka Modric – and that was a measure of the
esteem that most of the fans held him in at the time.
We've always known that BAE can be a little aloof – talking about playing for Spurs as just a
job – but have his latest comments dampened his reputation?
Reports today are quoting Benoit Assou-Ekotto as saying that he is looking to move on from Spurs.
As always, a bit of context is required. The questions below are from two interviews that Benny has
given recently that the British media has jumped on. Benny has been praised for his honesty during
his time at Spurs and we shouldn't be surprised when he says he may need to move on if his career
isn't progressing.
I've quoted Harry's post-QPR comments about our centre half issues twice already so I won't
repeat them yet again. However, it has emerged today that things are going from bad to worse on the
injury front with reports that both Younes Kaboul and Benoit Assou-Ekotto could miss the rest of
the season.
Tottenham Hotspur 1-5 Chelsea FA Cup 15th April 2012
Another game today featuring a rather controversial decision, this time courtesy of a goal that
never was. With Chelsea 1-0 up after a superb Didier Drogba strike in the first-half, Juan Mata put
the Blues 2-0 up just after the break.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea, Sunday 15th April, Wembley Stadium, 6pm kick off,
ITV1
THFC1882 asks Kenny Palmer for his preview and thoughts on the match that could dictate
the rest of Tottenham's season.
To misquote the lyrics of Ossie's dream Spurs are on their way to Wembley their knees have gone
all trembley, could be referring to the teams recent performances in a dreadful run of 1 win in 8
as they come into Sunday's pivotal game.
Sunderland 0-0 Tottenham Hotspur Premier League 7th April 2012
While a point away at the Stadium of Light is nothing be be ashamed of, Tottenham's failure to
secure all three leaves their Champions League hopes still very much hanging in the balance.
This weekend sees a rather welcome break from league action as Tottenham prepare to face Bolton
in the FA Cup 6th round. A trip to Wembley beckons for the winner and a chance of a place in the FA
Cup final itself but defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto claims every game is a cup final at this stage of
the season.
Football is a funny old sport. The sharks were out circling Wenger and Arsenal before this match
with so many negative articles written, admittedly many here on this blog. Spurs had outwitted
Arsenal according to Amy Lawrence and there was no escaping some of the salient points she
made.
From starting the week with something bordering on an injury crisis, Spurs are almost at full
strength for tomorrow's clash at the Emirates and that raises plenty of questions about team
selection.
Ahead of the game, Harry gave us an update on those returning to full fitness.
"Luka went down with the flu and Adebayor had a knee injury, hopefully they will be okay," said
Harry.
At the start of the week, injury concerns were held over from Sunday's game at Stevenage after
Adebayor, Modric and BAE were all late withdrawals. At the time, Harry was concerned for this
weekend's match but as the week has progressed, many of the doubts seem to have eased.
Firstly, Rafael van der Vaart announced that he was winning his own fitness race before Ade
tweeted that he also expected to return.
When Kyle Walker returned to Spurs at the end of his loan spell with Aston Villa, he came back
with a reputation as a marauding full back with a keen eye for goal but maybe with some question
marks over his defending.
As we reach the last third of the season, Kyle is unchallenged as our first choice right back
and while he won't be happy that BAE is currently outscoring him this year, Walker's lone strike
undoubtedly mattered most in securing a 2-1 win over Arsenal earlier in the campaign.
With yesterday's FA Cup tie quickly glossed over and forgotten for the time being, attention has
already turned to Sunday's North London derby with news that Tottenham's injury problems are
getting much worse.
Yesterday saw the return of last year's match winner Younes Kaboul but that was about the only
piece of good news amidst reports that Luka Modric, BAE and Emmanuel Adebayor are all doubts for
next Sunday's clash.
Luis Suarez made his Liverpool comeback last night following his eight-match ban during last
night's 0-0 draw with Tottenham. You can imagine that the Uruguayan's final instructions before
coming on as a substitute probably didn't go: "Barge over the guy with the Afro and then kick
someone in the stomach.
Remember on Tuesday evening? When Benoit Assou-Ekotto very nearly carved Franco Di Santo's leg
in twain with a disgusting, over-the-ball leg-breaker of a horror tackle?
A tackle, it's perhaps worth noting, that apparently didn't merit any form of punishment for BAE
from either the referee at the time (as the blood sopped through the Argentine's sock) or the FA's
disciplinary committee?
Wigan manager Roberto Martinez was left furious when Tottenham left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto was
allowed to remain on the pitch despite a high tackle that forced forward Franco Di Santo out of the
Latics' 3-1 defeat at White Hart Lane.
With his side firmly rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table, the only positive
Martinez could reflect on was the mild nature of Di Santo's injury.
THFC1882 presents guest writer Kenny Palmer's report of Tottenham Hotspur
versus Wigan:
A man of the match performance by Gareth Bale against obliging opponents Wigan helped reignite
Spurs title challenge, as they now sit just five points behind the Manchester clubs following the
leaders City's defeat to Everton.
By far the best arrival of Transfer Deadline Day was Benoit Assou Ekotto's crazy afro. The
Tottenham left-back has ditched his cornrows to rejuvenate his Jackson Five look, and we can only
applaud. Excellent work, Benoit.

There are so many conflicting stories concerning Jan Vertonghen, Luka Modric and others that
it's difficult to make any comment now until the deals are done. However, the media does seem
united in its opinion that Ezekiel Fryers will soon be signing up at the Lane.
The 19 year old left back made six first team appearances for Manchester United and it's thought
that he would be put straight into the squad as cover for BAE.
A few news and notes from an exciting FA Cup weekend... Tottenham were held to a 0-0 draw at
Stevenage but the worst news came from the infirmary: Luka Modric (flu), Emmanuel Adebayor (knee),
and Benoit Assou-Ekotto (groin) all missed ... Continue reading →
It's the last chance to predict a starting XI for this season and the task would have been a lot
simpler had Danny Rose not been sent off at Villa last weekend. It would more than likely have been
an unchanged side once again but as it is, there is now a real question as to who plays at left
back.
Just as he did last year, Danny Rose has stepped in as cover for BAE at left back but if the
player himself had had his way, he may have already been out on loan elsewhere.
"It's been very frustrating," Danny said. "I wanted to go out on loan at the start of the
season, and in January, and I wasn't allowed.

Contrary to popular belief, not all athletes have air or rocks for brains. In fact, there are
quite a lot of athletes who defy the stereotype. For example, the late Brazilian legend Socrates
earned a medical degree during his playing career, and after retiring, he made full use of the
degree.
"So what you're essentially telling me is that these fancy electronic shoes only work if I shave my
legs?" Fulham's Pavel Pogrebnyak puzzles over the instructions for his new miCoach boots.
Much was made of Mario Balotelli's failure to control a bib last season, but were we being
unfair to Super Mario by singling him out for his hilarious ineptitude?
At the start of the week, Spurs manager Harry Redknapp painted a rather grim picture of injury
issues in the Tottenham squad but after Rafael van der Vaart declared his readiness for the Arsenal
game on Sunday, Emmanuel Adebayor has also announced that he hopes to be fit to face his former
club.
