Just a quick one to say that Manchester City have confirmed, via their offical website, that
Martin Petrov, Benjani Mwaruwari and Sylvinho
will all be allowed to leave the club over the coming summer.
The summer transfer market is off to a slow start because of the World Cup, but I expect it to
warm up soon with Man City, Spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea, all expected to be active in this
transfer window.
The international transfer window opened signings on Wednesday, 9 June and will stay open until
1800 BST on Tuesday, 31 August.
The king of the Coppa Italia, Roberto Mancini took his first step towards success in the English
equivalent when his Manchester City side won 1-0 at Middlesbrough in the FA Cup third round.
Mancini won the Italian Cup six times as a player and four as a coach and, having overseen two
league victories since replacing Mark Hughes at City, watched his new team advance comfortably with
a late first-half goal by striker Benjani Mwaruwari against the second division hosts.
According to Chris Bailey at Manchester City's official website, Manchester
City striker Benjani Mwaruwari wants to sign a new deal at the club as he
is very happy there. He said,
"I'm very happy because I've started two games in a row and it's been a long time since that
happened.
