With Just two days left in the Summer Transfer Window, Clubs scramble to get their men.
Well, two days are left until the transfer window opens again and Manchester City look like
they've signed two strikers to help Mark Hughes drag them up the table. I suppose they need some
good news down at Eastlands after the ground flooded on Saturday due to flash floods. With both
signings, City could have an incredible 12 strikers on their books at the last count, but that
number will fall by one on July 1st as young prospect Daniel Sturridge has agreed to join
Chelsea.
Well worth considering!
CITY are poised to trim their top-heavy squad by moving on midfield star Elano and
strikers Benjani and Valeri Bojinov.
City sources have revealed there has been interest from several clubs in Elano, and reports from
Italy suggest that AC Milan have had an initial offer for the Brazil international turned down.
With the European transfer window set to close on Tuesday, we are starting to get more and more
rumors and deals being made, some affecting Americans directly and indirectly.
The two most high-profile Americans poised to make transfer moves are DaMarcus Beasley and
Freddy Adu, who are both in dire need of moves in order to secure more playing time and get back
into the U.
In the 1990s he was famous for doing things like this!
In England, people remember the former Coventry, Sheffield United, Birmingham and
Huddersfield striker mainly as a technically gifted forward that on occasion did magical stuff with
the ball. Ok, he could go for weeks without doing much, and his scoring records isn't top notch,
but people still have fond memories of the Zimbabwean.
I feel as if I've done nothing but write about Manchester City this summer. And frankly I'm getting
tired of it. I'm very ready to see how this experiment in fantasy football (English version) plays
out in real life. The cream of world football went to Madrid this summer, but a lot of attacking
talent has ended up at Eastlands.
Manchester City is behaving like a kid with their first credit card, like Victoria Beckham at the
LA Galaxy team store, like a alcoholic with a $1000 liquor store gift certificate...they are out of
control. This is not just out of control, it's completely out of balance (or is it...read on).

Ready for Premier League return?
It's just as well, then, that some clubs prefer players at the other end of their
careers. Spurs, for example, who were turned down by Corinthians' Ronaldo this summer, are ready to
make a January move for O Fenomeno. Failing that 'Arry Redknapp fancies Manchester City's Benjani
or Real's Ruud van Nistelrooy.
I. Manchester City @ Manchester United: Who will get
their face stamped on this weekend? No one, that's who - with City star Emmanuel Adebayor
suspended. The Manchester Derby on Sunday could be an instant classic - as two Top-4 teams battle
it out for bragging rights.
By Gareth Freeman
Derby day in Manchester is always a special occasion but this year the stakes are higher than
they have been in many years. For over a decade now United's dominance of the Premier League has
cast a shadow over City. The stakes have risen somewhat now Manchester's other team have
squillions to spend and have enjoyed a terrific start to the season.
You'll love this woeful attempt at excuse making!
Sol Campbell has revealed the reasons behind his decision to quit Notts County just one
game into a five-year contract.
The experienced centre-half stunned the football world this summer when he opted to move to
Meadow Lane as a free agent.
According to Adam Marshall at Setanta Sports, Manchester City striker
Benjani Mwaruwaru wants to stay with the club. He told Soccer Week,
"I still have a contract with Manchester City and I've not received any offers from anyone
... I enjoy a good relationship with my fellow team-mates, the technical team and the fans and
don't see any reason to leave.

The big news on the wire this morning is that Manchester City have apparently been in talks with
Arsenal all weekend over the possible purchase of Emmanuel Adebayor.
This is believable in the sense that Citeh's new owners clearly have a lot of money and want to
make a splash by bringing in big names in the transfer window.

I've been a little reluctant to bring up Manchester Ciy's summer of spending and thats mainly cause
all they seem to have bought with their Emirate oil money, is a bunch of overpriced strikers! At
last count I'm pretty sure they had about 9 of them (Adebayor, Bellamy, Benjani, Robinho, Santa
Cruz, Tevez, Bojinov, Caicedo, Evans, and a couple of midfielders who can also mix it up front).
Craig Bellamy (Striker)
Robinho (Striker)
Roque Santa Cruz (Striker)
Emmanuel Adebayor (Striker)
Carlos Tevez (Striker)
Benjani (Striker)
Martin Petrov (Att. Mid)
Shaun Wright-Phillips (Att. Mid)
Kelvin Etuhu (Att. Mid)
How the fudge are they going to fit all of these into a football side, or even on the
bench?

Sky Sports sources understand Hull City have agreed a fee with Manchester City for
striker Benjani.
Hull boss Phil Brown has spent the summer trying to improve his attacking options and has missed
out on the likes of Michael Owen,Fraizer Campbell and Marc-Antoine Fortune.

The Zimbabwe international was sold to City during the 2008 January transfer window for a figure
quoted as £9 million, with £4 million of that to be paid up front and the remainder spread over
the length of the player's contract.
However, Portsmouth, who are fighting for their Premier League survival, are believed to be
willing to take less than the full amount should City settle before the end of the season,
according to a report in the Daily Mail.

Carlos Tevez has signed with cross town rivals Man City...good for him, bad loss for the Red

work? They now have on their squad, officially:Robinho, Bojinov, Santa Cruz, Tevez, Caicedo, Evans,
Benjani, and Bellamy.

According to Sky Sports News, Bolton are planning to go after
Manchester City stiker Benjani Mwaruwari. It is reported that the
club might be willing to sell the striker for only £1.5million.
West Ham United and Wigan Athletic are also linked with
Mwaruwari.
Skysports.com understands Bolton are lining up a January raid on Manchester City for
striker Benjani Mwaruwari.
Bolton are desperate to add to their attacking options when the transfer window reopens in the
New Year and have earmarked Benjani as the player to fire them to safety.
"I am not going anywhere and I am going to put up a fight to ensure that I get my place.
"I still have a contract with Manchester City. I have had injuries. And every player goes

"I am not bothered about which club is after me because I am still a Manchester City player.
Steven Saunders at Goal.com has now reported on who Manchester City should sign
this upcoming transfer window.
Saunders goes more in depth in the article but believes that Manchester City should:
Sign: Giorgio Chiellini (Juventus), Ivan Cordoba (Inter), Cristian Ansaldi
(Rubin Kazan), Javier Mascherano (Liverpool), Angel Di Maria (Benfica), Antonio Cassano
(Sampdoria).
