I think it's fair to say that Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro did not have a successful World Cup campaign. When a ball deflects off your knees and then New Zealand score, things are definitely not going to plan, and clearly this was one tournament too many for the 36 year old defender.

Cannavaro did have one bit of World Cup related good news this week though, as he's been named the most beautiful man in the World Cup by dating website Beautiful People.
