Well today has prevailed a lot of Arsenal transfer rumours and gossip:
The main story of the day has come from The Daily Star and it has said Barry has chosen
Arsenal as his number one club he wants to move to this summer, in the quest for champions league
football. The Daily Star says that Rafa Benitez will not bid again for him becuase he couldn't move
last summer so this leaves the path for Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City (although they are
linked with everyone now though aren't they).
Liverpool are allegedly interested in Almeria striker Alvaro Negredo, with the player himself
publicly expressing an interest in coming to Anfield. Could he be the back-up striker the club
needs?
Negredo confirmed his and Liverpool's purported interest in a recent interview:
"To play next to Fernando Torres at Anfield is a dream and any player would accept that, but I
prefer to talk about reality and I have not spoken with Rafa Benitez, but I do know that some
contact exists between the clubs.
Following Darren Bent's goal against Liverpool set up by this beach ball there is one
Liverpool fan who will want the whole episode to go away. The BBC did the decent thing and blurred
out the lads face on Match Of The Day... enter The Sun.
Unlucky for this young Liverpool fan The Sun have released a picture of his face asking for his
name and no doubt he will be named, shamed and later forced to leave Merseyside and support a new
team.
La Liga club's at it again!
The Rumour
Barcelona are set to push Rafa Benitez's patience to the limit by launching a bid for Liverpool
goalkeeper Pepe Reina.
The European champions have already been met with resistance in a move for Anfield midfielder
Javier Mascherano - but Lionel Messi has stepped up the pursuit by inviting his friend to the Nou
Camp.
The Reds will reportedly dish out over €106.3 million to land a superb trio in the summer.
According to a report in the British tabloid The Sunday Mirror, Liverpool are preparing to launch a
triple end-of-season offer for Aston Villa's Gareth Barry, and Valencia duo David Villa and David
Silva. Apparently, the Reds' American owners are ready [.
Liverpool are to have their will tested after reports claimed that Barcelona are set to offer the
Premier League runners-up Samuel Eto'o in a swap deal that would see Javier Mascherano move the
other way.
It is the second time in a week the unsettled Argentina midfielder has been linked with the
European champions, following reports that Liverpool turned down a £20 million offer from the Nou
Camp, adding that not even £50m would be enough.
Liverpool's crushing defeats to Sunderland and Lyon are undoubtedly devastating blows to the club's
trophy ambitions. Clearly, the recurring problems that have plagued Liverpool under Rafa Benitez
are wreaking havoc once again. As such, if the club is to recover and salvage something from this
campaign, it is imperative that important changes are made NOW.
It seems increasingly clear that the signing of Glen Johnson from Portsmouth is a nailed on
certainty. But he's just a full-back; not really the attacking signing Liverpool FC need and not
not really the type of player who can take the club to the next level. Or is he? Mark Jones seems
to think so..
What is going on?
Portsmouth Vs Liverpool Tickets Still Available!
Reports surfacing today suggest that Rafa Benitez and Javier Mascherano are going to clash over
the Argentine midfielders demands for a new improved contract, something our boss is unlikely to
give in to, mainly because the Liverpool boss doesn't believe the former West Ham man deserves an
increased offer given his very average start to the season.
According to Luis Mira at Goal.com, AS is reporting that Liverpool
told Real Madrid that they can have Xabi Alonso for
€35million.
Marca is reporting that Xabi Alonso talked to Rafa Benitez on Friday
asking him to let him go to Real Madrid.
It's quite rare to find myself defending Rafa Benitez in any respect, but I think the recent
comments by Sam Allardyce are more than ridiculous. After Liverpool's second goal in a 4-0 romp
of his team, the Blackburn manager claims Benitez showed a "lack of respect" for failing to meet
for the traditional post-game drink.
The summer transfer window hasn't even opened yet, but a couple of big names from Europe's top
leagues are already on the move to new destinations, and a few others could soon have new
addresses. Who are those players, and where are they going? We've got all of that and more in
today's transfer news roundup, which includes news and rumors from England, Spain, Italy, Germany,
and even Turkey.
Blogger makes a suggestion that may or may not make him target of much abuse!
OK, hear me out regarding this crazy idea before you bash it into submission. Whilst,
we'd all love for Rafa to go out and get a David Villa-esque player this summer to act as cover (or
play upfront) with Torres next season, I think we're all in agreement that the sheer cost of
signing such a player without having to sell for the extra funds makes such a move very
difficult.
The European soccer leagues are still a few months from the start of the 2009/10 season but the
transfer market continues to be busy with rumors of players for sale. Here's the latest news on
some of the biggest starts including Samuel Eto'o and Frank Ribery.
The Latest on Xabi Alonso - Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso insists he would
have 'no regrets' about staying at Anfield, but has refused to rule out a big-money move to Real
Madrid.
The Latics are set to introduce another Ecuador international to the Premier League, named
Christian Benitez. Premier League club Wigan Athletic are eyeing a €7.5 million (£7m) swoop for
Ecuador striker Christian Benitez at the end of the season, according to a report in the British
tabloid The Daily Mirror.
I couldn't update regularly in last couple of days. But it looks like there was not much of
development about Barca in Transfer Market. But the biggest news in Transfer Market as today is a
reported 50 million bid for Valencia striker Villa. Valencia is reported to be asking for more but
there is a high chance of Barca beating Real madrid to his signature.
Liverpool recently signed ex-Roma midfielder Aquilani. Whilst he is a very good player, Aquilani
has an infamous reputation for injuries, and at Roma he was cruelly labelled by fans as 'Swarovski'
due to his constant physical problems. In the last three seasons Aquilani has made just 13, 21 and
14 league appearances respectively due mainly to injuries.
Liverpool's depressing defeat against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge could have (and should have) been
avoided, but as is so often the case, Rafa Benitez's decisions conspired to adversely affect
Liverpool yet again.
The most galling thing about the defeat is that the game was definitely winnable.

There has been increased speculation for the highly rated Brazilian Hernanes, with a
move to Premier League giants Liverpool.
Sam Allardyce has launched a scathing attack on Rafa Benitez in the wake of Blackburn's 4-0 defeat
by Liverpool at Anfield last Saturday.
Allardyce has accused the Spaniard of being 'disrespectful' and 'humiliating' over gestures he made
on the touchline after Fernando Torres had headed the home side into a two-goal lead before the
interval.
Mr. Benitez gets ready for another busy summer in the transfer market! Rafa Benitez has conceded

also includes a winger, full-back and central defender. The Liverpool manager believes the
partnership between Fernando Torres and Steven .
Rafa Benitez has lined up Athletic Bilbao midfielder Javi Martinez as a long-term replacement for
Xabi Alonso. Martinez is regarded as one of the best prospects in Spain. And Bilbao, who have the

thrash out a cut-price deal in order to afford his [.

Benitez is now likely to sell Andrea Dossena to help fund the deal.
Johnson, who joined Portsmouth from Chelsea in a £4m deal two years ago, emerged as Benitez's
prime target after having an outstanding season at Fratton Park last season.
In case you may have missed anything over the weekend, we've got a nice fresh batch of transfer
news and rumors to deliver bright and early this morning.
In the not-so-breaking news category, Manchester United aren't going to be signing
Carlos Tevez permanently, but he may well have already agreed a move to a new
destination not far from his old home.
The young Spaniard Suso will join up with his fellow countrymen at Anfield rather than join the
superstars at the Bernabeu. Liverpool have stolen a march on Spanish giants Real Madrid and
Barcelona and secured the services of highly-rated Cadiz teenager Jesus Fernandez Saez, nicknamed
Suso, according to Setanta Sports.
Manchester United's win over Wigan means that they are now just one point away from regaining their
Premier League crown, and given that they next face an Arsenal side with their minds already on a
beach somewhere, it's a fair assumption to think that they'll get it. With this in mind, Mark Jones
takes a look at the reasons why Liverpool are not ending the season as Premiership champions.
Farewell, Xabi Alonso, you self-confessed snail Good work in the transfer window by Rafa Benitez,
if you believe Xabi Alonso. According to this interview he gave on the Liverpool squad last season,
the Reds have managed to offload their worst trainer and their slowest player so far this summer.
Well, the Swedish Beckham at least!
Rasmus Elm: Liverpool to Battle Everton for the ‘Swedish Beckham'
Everton, Man City and Liverpool may have to wait to secure the signature of Swedish starlet
Rasmus Elm after his agent confirmed the player is to visit some of the interested clubs in the
next few days after picking up a suspension.
Many Liverpool fans are distraught at the club's current predicament/failure to win any trophies
for the last three years. After 1 win in 9 games, questions are rightly being asked about Rafa
Benitez's future. However, The ‘Rafa can do no wrong' brigade come up with endless
excuses/justifications for giving the manager more time, the most common of which is the ridiculous
comparison between Benitez and Arsene Wenger.
Steven Gerrard has opened his heart on a season of personal turmoil and glory - and confessed he
couldn't have coped with his court case hell four years ago.
Liverpool skipper Gerrard, named Football Writers' Footballer of the Year after an outstanding
season pursuing Manchester United, has revealed vast reserves of mental strength in blocking out a
probable July court appearance after an incident in a Southport bar.
The all new rumour reporting article system is in full effect! The Rumour ATHLETIC BILBAO'S

a £24million buy-out clause but the Basque club will do business for closer to £12m. Anfield boss
Rafa Benitez has kept an .
As one new addition looks set to move to Anfield another could be hot on his heels!
The Rumour
According to reports in the Turkish press Liverpool and Manchester United are gearing up for a
battle for the exciting young Turkish winger Arda Turan this summer. The player is expected to
leave Galatasaray with the club finishing a highly disappointing 5th in the Turkish league, 10
points behind champions Besiktas.
After a freak pre-season incident in which Fabio Aurelio was injured whilst having a back-yard
kickabout with his son (!), Liverpool fans were looking forward to the Brazilian's return to
action. Unfortunately, Aurelio's comeback is on hold yet again after another freak injury sustained
at Liverpool's Melwood training ground today.
Liverpool see off defending champions Manchester United 2-0 in Anfield to snap a 4 matches losing
streak. The men from Anfield have not lost four successive games since 1987. Fernando Torres was on
hand to put away an astute pass by Yossi Benayoun on the 65th minute. Substitute David Ngog sealed
the crucial 2-0 victory for under-pressure Benitez with an injury time goal.
No matter what happens from now until the end of the season, and whether we finish in the top 4 or
not, there are a number of recent transfer deals that bother me greatly - signings, sales or missed
opportunities that could've improved our squad and afforded us more depth than we currently
have.
The deals relevant to last season may even have turned some of those nagging draws in wins, maybe
giving us enough points to have snatched the title from Man Ure.
Jurgen Klinsmann will tell Liverpool's American co-owners: I wouldn't turn you down again.
The ex-Germany striker rejected the chance to replace Rafa Benitez at Anfield two years ago after
holding secret talks with Tom Hicks and George Gillett, preferring instead to take over at Bayern
Munich.
In the recent heat of rumours, Xabi Alonso has fuelled further damage to his future at Anfield.
The 27-year old midfielder are on international duty with Spain at Confederations Cup this
month.
He has answered a journalist's question in a recent interview after being asked whether he would
be disappointed to start next season at Anfield?
If there is one team that is secretly thriving in a summer of high-profile transfers, it is
Birmingham City. As mentioned by my fellow Premiership Talk writer, Brian Lofrumento, the newly
promoted outfit is reportedly pursuing former Arsenal captain Patrick Viera, which is in addition
to a handful of other acquisitions made recently.
Xabi Alonso seems certain to leave Liverpool for Real Madrid this summer, which comes as no
surprise given his demoralizing treatment at the hands of Rafa Benitez over the last 2 years..
The latest in this summer's most predictable (and regrettable) transfer saga is that Alonso has
allegedly told Benitez that he wants to leave Anfield.
Please tell me this is an overdue April Fool's Prank!
Lee Cattermole: Doing what he does best!
Liverpool are on the verge of striking a compromise deal to sell Xabi Alonso to Real
Madrid and will plough part of his transfer fee into bids for Wigan midfielder Lee Cattermole and
Hull defender Michael Turner.
