Everton boss David Moyes has claimed on the Times Game podcast that S'Alex Ferg was right to
criticise Rafa's American paymasters for their treatment of the Spaniard. Moyes said: "I thought it
was tremendous that Sir Alex Ferguson came out and said the things supporting Rafa and in a way had

Clearly if Rafa Benitez is going to fund all the transfers he seems to be lining up, he will need
to offload some dead wood. With this in mind, we have the latest rumour regarding a quartet on
their way out. Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez plans to sell at least four of his senior players to

It looks as if Liverpool boss Benitez has relented and decided to accept Portsmouth's bid for
England international striker Peter Crouch, but as he does so has he made his biggest mistake as
Anfield supremo? Peter Crouch finally landed his move to Portsmouth yesterday after the south coast
club relented over .
According to this snippet from the tabloids it appears that Benitez has come up with an ingenious
way to snare one player by offloading another! Benitez wants £5m for keeper Scott Carson and
is mulling over a swap deal involving Valencia's David Silva and Xabi Alonso. (The People)
£18m rated Silva has .
Football Liverpool: Alonso asks to leave as Anfield's dirty washing goes public
In the latest development in the ongoing transfer sagas at Anfield, Xabi Alonso has asked to leave
Liverpool, reportedly requesting to be sold to AC Milan or Arsenal, fearing his football will be
limited if he stays at Liverpool.
Liverpool have beaten Barcelona and Tottenham in the race to capture highly-rated Danish starlet
Nikola Saric on a three-year contract. The 17-year-old is heading to Anfield after Rafa Benitez
tied up the deal personally. "'This is Rafa' he said," recalled sports director Per Rud
to the club's official website when asked about how the transfer came about.

Liverpool was announced as a 4-4-1-1, but the formation looked like a 5-4-1 to me, with the
fullbacks often getting forward in support, in the first half.
Rafa Benitez is understandably irate at a decision made by the authorities. This is in relation to
a work permit for a young talent, who will now have to be loaned out elsewhere rather than
challenging for a spot at Liverpool! Don't forget to check out Online Football Manager! Liverpool
manager Rafa .
I don't really know too much about either player that Liverpool and Everton signed on the transfer
deadline day, but I'll give my comments based upon what I've read.
Liverpool seemed to get the player they wanted in Albert Riera, a left winger who should provide a
lot of ammunition for Fernando Torres, Robbie Keane, and the rest of Liverpool's goal scorers.
Hicks: We spoke with Klinsmann
Unacceptable.
I've been hesitant to pile onto the owners, partly because I hadn't been convinced that all the
fears were valid and partly because I want to see the Americans do well by Liverpool. Now there's
no way not to. This is utterly embarrassing to the club, and Benitez deserves far, far better.
If money was no object, then the tabloids would have you believe that £300m could be invested
in new arrivals at Anfield. However, this target could apparently only need a little persuading to
become a feared strike partner for El Nino! Rafa Benitez could persuade David Villa to sign for
Liverpool, according to the striker's Spanish [.
Berbatov to Man United in 48 hours reports
Latest reports doing the rounds, is that Dimitar Berbatov is to move to Manchester United for 28m
within 48 hours. If so its' a scary thought - Ronaldo staying and Berbatov added into the mix.
Makes John Terry's recent words about Manchester United not finding another level, look more like a
hope than a shrewd prediction.
January may be over, but that doesn't stop the rumour mill spinning as wildly as ever. Rafa Benitez
is apparently looking to rid his squad of deadwood at least that is what the papers say (The Sun)
Among those destined to leave are 15m rated Xabi Alonso, who looks set to return to La Liga with

Rafa Benitez has been linked with a move for this veteran, who has now voiced his anger at recent
events, which have led to many suggesting an exit could be on the cards! Lyon's inspirational
captain Juninho has threatened his directors he could leave Stade Gerland this summer after seven
seasons at the club.
Miki Roque is expected to join FC Cartagena on a season long loan as the young defender tries to
put his career back on track.
One of the many young players brought to the club by Benitez in his first months in charge, Roque
progressed better than many had expected and even made his Champions League debut against
Galatasaray.
As Rafa Benitez looks to continue to trim his squad and build up reserves for potential new
signings, here is a look at three who have done enough to continue their Liverpool careers and
three who should be sold to the highest bidder! Don't forget to check out Online Football Manager!

Rafa Benitez has been trying to secure funds for a move for Gareth Barry and now it appears another
of his top targets is being the target of a bid from a former Spurs boss now plying his trade in
the Bundesliga. Don't forget to check out Online Football Manager! Liverpool's Rafa ...
Rafa Benitez has made it clear he has no hope of getting a game at Anfield, but this Liverpool
custodian just won't seem to get the hint! Don't forget to check out Online Football Manager!
Liverpool goalkeeper Charles Itandje has revealed he has turned down a move to Galatasaray and is

As per usual, I try to say as little as possible about transfers before they're completed, but with
article after article speculating over the future of Javier Mascherano, I feel the need to chime
in.
The Mascherano signing is the canary in the mineshaft for this club. It will be more of a
bellwether about new owners' priorities and capabilities than anything we've seen so far.
Liverpool's legendary striker Ian Rush has told the Sun that he thinks that Rafa's American
paymasters George Gillett and Tom Hicks have turned the club into a laughing stock. Yesterday
George Gillett let the cat out of the bag and admitted that they had sounded out Jurgen Klinsmann
as a contingency in case Rafa [.

Well this is a move that's sure to shock many. With Liverpool currently preparing to splash the
cash for Villa man, Gareth Barry, the club also seems to have been doing some behind-the-scenes
work to finalise a transfer on a fairly solid Brazilian. CNN International is reporting that Rafa
Benitez .
Liverpool and Villa finally agree £19m deal for Gareth Barry as England star secures his
Anfield move
Liverpool have drawn a line under the summer's longest-running transfer saga after finalising a
£19m deal for Aston Villa midfielder Gareth Barry.
Fresh from concluding a £20million deal for Spurs striker Robbie Keane, the Anfield club have
held further talks with Villa and The Insider understands that they have reached agreement on a
£17.
Goal.com reports that Liverpool's American co-owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks are ready to walk
out of Anfield and hand the keys to the Dubai based consortium DIC(Dubai Investment Capital). It is
reported that the handover could be finalised as early as mid-March this year. Of course, much of
the material of this news is loosely [.
Thanks to our friends at The Spoiler for this tremendous spot. Rafa's working the Blue Steel, or is

Liverpool striker Peter Crouch is precisely 99.75% pissed off today after Rafa Benitez placed a
large £15million price tag around his neck. Crouchigol thinks that £15million is a
ridiculous amount to ask for him, whilst Rafa is determined not to sell his prize lankster on the
cheap - and according to The Sun, [.
With Rafa Benitez reportedly on the look out for a foil to play alongside Fernando Torres next
season, and names such as David Villa being bandied about by the press, one striker who could be
available for the right price...
Arsenal are today planning a £18 million bid for Aston Villa midfielder Gareth Barry after
weeks of speculation about the Villa captain's future. Barry has been linked with Liverpool for
some time now as Rafa Benitez has had several bids rejected for the 27-year old but Arsene Wenger
is now looking to snatch Barry from Liverpool's grasps.
A reported approach to Liverpool by Greek side Olympiakos about the possibility of signing
Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva is expected to be politely rebuffed.
Olympiakos have reportedly enquired about Liverpool's Lucas Leiva, who is expected to feature for
Brazil at this summer's Olympic Games in Beijing.
Fernando Torres has already taken Liverpool's new French teenage striker David Ngog under his
wing.
Ngog, 19, joined the club for £1.5million from Paris St Germain last week, and could well make
his debut in Wednesday's friendly game against Villarreal - a match that may also see the first
appearance of Robbie Keane in a Liverpool shirt.
Gareth Barry may not have been in Oslo last night, but there was no getting away from him.
If it wasn't an injury scare to Steven Gerrard which suggested a move for the Aston Villa man might
need to be completed sooner rather than later, it was the imperious form of Xabi Alonso which
begged the question of why Liverpool remain ready to spend around £18m on a central
midfielder.
IF Liverpool's opening day victory over Sunderland confirmed anything, it is that Rafa Benitez must
resist all urges to rest Fernando Torres. Last season Liverpool surrendered 10 points in games
where Benitez – with one eye clearly on Europe – preferred to keep his star striker on
the bench rather than risk injury.
Well, we wanted a winger, especially with Benayoun's sub-standard performances on the left in the
past few games. Now Liverpool's close to finalizing a deal for Albert Riera, an out-and-out left
winger, subject to a medical and agreeing personal terms. The Liverpool Echo reports the fee's
"in excess of £8m," which is a steal compared to Espanyol's previous demand that any
club meet Riera's buy-out clause, which is £16m.
Rafa Benitez told Fabio Capello that Liverpool came before England, and that any decisions taken
over Steven Gerrard's medical treatment were exclusively Liverpool's.
Capello was upset to learn that Gerrard had been sent for a groin operation, ruling him out of the
start of England's World Cup qualifying campaign.
Do I hear £11million for this England international? It's not yet clear whether Chelsea or
even Arsenal will enter the race for the Aston Villa midfielder although it appears that Liverpool
have wasted no time since their Champions League exit on Wednesday night trying to recruit Gareth
Barry. The Daily Mail report that there is [.
It will come as no great surprise to hear that Harry Kewell is leaving Liverpool after five seasons
at the club. When the Australian arrived from Leeds United in 2003, he was regarded as one of the
hottest players in the Premier League but perpetual injuries have seen him play just a minor role
for [.
Rafael Benitez has been told by Rick Parry that Liverpool must be Premier League contenders next
season (that doesn't mean tailing off around Christmas time), despite the Spaniard claiming the
domestic title is just one option. Nevertheless, some serious spending appears to be under way,
with The Sun reporting that Andrea Dossena could be the [.
Liverpool are to challenge Manchester United for Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos after the player
admitted he would be interested in a move to the Premier League should the chance present itself.
(FootyLatest.com)
The Spanish international is currently on duty at the European Championships in Austria &
Switzerland.
Rafa Benitez seems to have a great many players on his wish list, and this one is a damn talented
midfielder who didn't really get a chance with two Premier League giants. £10m rated
Portsmouth midfielder Lassana Diarra 'has a string of clubs interested in him', according to a
source at Fratton Park, with Liverpool [.
