UEFA Power Rankings 20 February 2012 - The 90th Minute Soccer Blog
Below are my weekly power rankings for the top (8) clubs teams in UEFA. These rankings are a
combination of their play in domestic and UEFA competitions.
Real Madrid continue to be in the top spot while there's little change in the rest of the power
rankings.
Neymar and Ganso model Brazil's new kit
Brazil have named a strong squad for their first fixture of the year. For the match versus
Bosnia & Herzegovina in St Gallen Switzerland, as well as Neymar and Paulo Henrique Ganso, Mano
Menezes has called up Flamengo's Ronaldinho and hands a debut to Santos' outstanding young keeper

I'm not going to lie to you. As much as I'd like to sit here and tell you about all of the great
action that is taking place this weekend, I'm having a hard time coming up with enough to fill up
this entry. There are a pair of great matches on Sunday, that are taking place at the same time,
unfortunately, but other than that, the pickings are pretty slim.
The club's official betting partner, 188BET, is offering all Chelsea FC fans the chance to chat

Below are my weekly power rankings for the top (8) clubs teams in UEFA. These rankings are a
combination of their play in domestic and UEFA competitions.
The rankings haven't changed from the last (late January) as the top three remain the same.
We're about to get started with all of the action in the European cups knockout stages. On Tuesday,
the eighth-finals of the Champions League begin, while we will see the beginning of the knockout
rounds of the Europa League on Thursday. Let's not forget that this past week saw the beginning of
the group stage of the Copa Libertadores, South America's most prestigious club tournament.
Week 18 saw Benfica maintain their five point lead atop Portugal with a convincing 4-1 win over
Nacional. Porto made sure not to fall further behind with a 4-0 win over visiting Leiria, while
Braga's 3-0 win over Setubal kept them three points back of Porto. Maritimo moved into a tie for
fourth spot after their 2-0 home win over Sporting, a loss that cost Sporting head coach Domingos

In this week's rankings, Manchester City move up to 2nd place as Barcelona continues to struggle
in La Liga.
This time last year, I was traipsing around Central America, so we weren't able to bring you our
traditional Predictification entries. Well, this year, we're stable, albeit in Buenos Aires,
Argentina, and we are coming back with a vengeance. Okay, not so much a vengeance, but we are
bringing back the feature.
Champions League on Fox Soccer: Zenit St Petersburg - Benfica at noon and Milan - Arsenal at
2:30pm. Copa Libertadores on Fox Sports en Espanol: The Strongest - Santos at 5pm and Lanus -
Flamengo at 7pm. All Times Eastern

28th which features Ronaldinho's unexpected return and the surprising exclusion of
Kaka, who recently returned to form with Real Madrid.

Portugal coach Paulo Bento has announced his 23 man squad for the upcoming friendly against Poland
in Warsaw on February 29/12. Bento has added U20 senstation and Benfica striker Nelson Oliveira to
his squad, as the youngster earns his first call up to the squad, while Manuel Fernandes has made
his way back to the National side.
