Jose Mourinho is at it again in the press and letting the world know what he thinks of Arsenal
and the new look AC Milan. He is basically pissing off Wenger and putting a big smile on the face
of AC Milan supporters. The funny thing is that you know everyone is listening.
José Mourinho does not believe Arsenal are capable of winning the Champions League this
season.
Before moving on to our opponents in Friday night's game, there are a couple of England stories
to mention: Peter Crouch is out of the squad with a back injury and League 2 side
Shrewsbury Town will receive a £500,000 windfall 'if' Joe Hart
plays in goal tomorrow night: not bad at all for a team that had an average attendance last season
of about 5500 that's about £90 per punter at the Greenhous Meadow Stadium.
In a surprise move which could have consequences for Sir Alex Ferguson's assistant Mike Phelan,
former Portugal coach Carlos Queiroz could be on his way back to Old Trafford for the THIRD time.

Cardozo Will Provide Benfica's Main Threat Against Schalke Tonight.
Bayern Munich have represented the Bundesliga with another good Champions League result, and
this time away to Swiss champions FC Basel. The Bavarian side reached the Champions League final
last season, which they lost to Inter, but little Champions League threat has come from anywhere
else in the Bundesliga.

New Birmingham City signing Alexander Hleb has sensationally revealed he turned down Premier League
rivals Liverpool and Tottenham to sign for the Blues.
The 29-year-old playmaker has joined the Premier League club from Barcelona on a season-long loan
deal having spent last season with Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart.

Benfica struggles in the Portuguese League continue after falling to Guimaraes on the road. Benfica
has now lost three out of the first four games of the season, eclipsing last seasons total of two
already after four games.Guimaraes opened the scoring at home when Edgar's tap went over a
sprawling Roberto to give Guimaraes a 1-0 seventeen minutes into the game.
Group F, with Chelsea, Marseille, Spartak Moscow and Žilina, has the chance to provide some
interesting soccer matches. While Chelsea are the clear favorites, especially when considering
their form in the early part of the EPL season (4 wins, 17 goals), the rest of the group should
prove competitive.

Finally, the best club tournament in the world is back for us all to enjoy. While the World Cup
is the most popular sporting event on the planet, and the four year buildup is wonderful
anticipation, right behind that comes the UEFA Champions League. Watching the draw in full from
Monaco, it is obvious that the format has to be changed.

The wait is finally over! Tonight at the usual 19:45PM (GMT) TV's will be buzzing with Champions
League football once again! The favourites to lift the trophy at Wembley on May the 28th are
generally the same as always with Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Manchester United
and Real Madrid being classified as the front runners.
Europe's top teams begin their quest for the UEFA Champions League today when the tournament's
group stage kicks off across the continent.
Defending champion Inter Milan and title contenders Barcelona and Manchester United are in
action today, while Tottenham looks to make some noise in the competition.
The first day of the 2010-11 UEFA Champions League is over, and here are the results from
today's eight group stage matches:
Group A:
Twente 2-2 Inter Milan
Werder Bremen 2-2 Spurs
Group B:
Benfica 2-0 Hapoel Tel Aviv
Lyon 1-0 Schalke
Group C:
Bursaspor 0-4 Valencia
Manchester United 0-0 Rangers
Group D:
Barcelona 5-1 Panathinaikos
Copenhagen 1-0 Rubin Kazan
Obviously, the big winners of the day are Valencia, who made the traditionally tough voyage to
Turkey into a surprisingly comfortable rout, and Barcelona, who went down 1-0 early (a reminder of
the weekend's loss to Hercules), but came back strong to score five and win comfortably.
Benfica finally did something right this season and it could not have come in at a better time as
the club gets a big home victory to kick off their Group Stage in Champions League action.Benfica
coach Jorge Jesus said his club would be ready for the encounter against Isreal club Hapoel

Feyenoord's De Kuip Stadion plays host to Sunday's Klassieker
The word "Superclásico" has come into footballing lexicon in recent years as a way of
describing those games which are amongst the biggest and most widely anticipated in world football.
Sunday sees five such encounters taking place all over Europe tomorrow and Stoppage Time
International Football Blog previews them all here (all times given are local):

A repeat of last season's KNVB Beker (Dutch Cup) final, these two oldest and bitterest
of enemies meet again in the first Klassieker of the new season.

Incredibly, Tuesday went off without a real upset. The closest we came was Ajax drawing with
Milan at home, but that's not really an upset considering Milan's Jekyll & Hyde personality, and
unfortunately, it just wasn't cold enough to snow in Auxerre.
Wednesday's a second chance for some proper Champions League giant-thumping or else all the
minnows will fall to Michel Platini's sword.
