No, not Liverpool;Â everything's coming up roses for Rafa since his Sunday
Revival. No... we're talking about the OTHER club along the banks of the Mersey. The Blue
one. The home of Alan Ball, Neville Southall, and Dixie Deane. The
club that was supposed to be challenging for that fourth place this season.

It appears Saviola has finally found a happy home with Portugal's Benfica after many years of
disenchantment with various European clubs. This season he joined the other two Argentine players
Pablo Aimar & the youthful Angel DiMaria to form a very effective trident. He has already score 4
times in 7 appearances for Benefica thus becoming a house favorite.

A while ago I mention that Jaimie Moreno technically wasn't an MLS original. He joined DC United
after the 1996 season was underway. With Tony Sanneh retiring from the game after his 2007 sting
with the Colorado Rapids it appears that there are 5 players left that were with the league on it's

According to Friday's edition of La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Bologna (Serie A) is targetting Freddy
Adu for acquisition. The other attacking midfielder/striker they are looking at is "El
Matador" Edison Cavani, a rising Uruguayan national team player (with Italian roots) currently
at Palermo. All things being equal, Adu will cost Bologna less to acquire since Cavani already has
over 40 appearances for Palermo (and 7 goals).

As a quick note, it looks like Freddy Adu's sale to Benefica is now a done deal.
Ives raises an interesting point
Can the same player that Real Salt Lake traded the MLS equivalent of a mint to acquire
really be a player that RSL is ready to let leave just eight months after trading for
him?
Ives points out, Real Salt Lake could put an end to this by telling the league they do not want to
sell Adu right now.
