On a horrible wet and windy morning many fans might be glad that they are staying home this
afternoon instead of having to travel to football, so maybe this break has come at the right time
for once? No – ok, just trying to cheer up the grumpy ones who are missing their footie fix.
Look on the bright side, England play Brazil, so that could be a good game to watch,
alternatively there is the France v ROI play off, first leg – difficult choice?

Denmark's Footballer of The Year
I have always believed that everyone has their advantages and flaws in certain areas that is
different from one another. Some can paint, some can sing, some can dance, while others are just
plain stupid. Case in point, Darren Fletcher. After the Chelsea game, he was quoted to say that
I think we are starting to see Mr Wenger's comments starting to influence referees which is a
shame really.

Bendtner to repeat this act?
As an Arsenal fan, today is the day we wait with abated breath. This is the first fixture I look
for whenever the new season kicks-off. For Gooners, it comes no bigger than the North London Derby.
Spurs visit Ashburton Grove looking to find the first league victory over Wenger.

Arsenal 2-1 Liverpool
Another great win in the Milk Cup for the Arsenal thanks to two crackers from Merida and
Bendtner.
Though fatigue set in at the end, it was another feather in the cap for Wenger's second string.
It seems to happen every year, yet every year it still surprises me how much potential there is
bubbling under the surface at the club.

Arsenal 2 Liverpool 1 (Carling Cup 4th round)
Hello Gooners. Well that was close as well, just like the previous two games. Where was the 3-1
I predicted? As it turns out we didn't need that third goal.
You won't agree but for me Liverpool probably shaded it by virtue of the opportunities they
created.

The journey continues for Wenger and Arsenal as they knock Liverpool out in the fourth round
Carling Cup clash at Ashburton Grove. As it often is with the second cup competition in England,
Wenger put his faith in the lesser lights of his squad. Silvestre took the armband with Senderos as
his centerback partner in front of the returning Fabianski.

Its Carling Cup time! The trophy that no big club wants to win, but if they win it they'll be
happy to gloat about it anyway. Visions of Mourinho celebrating back in 2007 when they beat us in
the final still make me sick.
Rafa's red revolution received a massive boost when they humiliated Utd on Sunday.

I know, I know. Shouldn't have friends who support Utd. But they are good people, apart from
the fact that they support Ferguson's cronies. Honestly. And they've shown it haven't they? If
they heap praise themselves on our team's performance, you know we are doing something
right.

On Sunday morning, Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner sustained cuts to his knees and pain in his
shoulders, as he crashed his Aston Martin on his way to training. As he was unable to undergo full
training on Sunday, he will not take part in today's Champions League encounter against Olympiacos
at the Emirates Stadium.

I like Denilson as a player and despite what people said about him last season, I defended him.
Statistics supported my cause but then again stats are like marmite, you either love them or you
hate them.
Denilson has been missing from the first XI now since he was subbed at Eastlands.

By that I mean POINTS!!
Another away game for us then, but thankfully not too far for the team to travel tomorrow so no
excuse for fatigue or stiff muscles after getting off a ten minute coach ride
Three points tomorrow and we are right back up with the big boys, and that is exactly what we
need to be tomorrow evening – Big Boys, with a big performance.

I have to give Mark Hughes his due, Arsene Wenger couldn't get Adebayor to play like he did on
Saturday even though he doubled his wages, as Johnny Lydon once wrote "Anger is an Energy" and
it obviously motivated Ade into the best game he has ever played.
I was angry at first at his goal celebration, mainly because he should not have been on the pitch
to score a goal, but now I think it is quite funny to think that us Arsenal fans caused him so much
pain that he tried so hard to get one over on us.

Too often last season Wenger deployed Bendtner as a wide player, whilst not in an orthodox
left-wingers role, sufficiently wide to keep out of the penalty area. The same pattern has been
repeated this season, resulting in the young Denmark striker pleading for Arsene to play him in a
more central role.

Chamakh has been linked with a host of Premier League teams
Bordeaux's Moroccan striker Marouane Chamakh has made a good start to the Ligue 1 campaign,
scoring 3 goals in 3 games for the club. This form has seen him linked with a host of Premier
League clubs, but is he really good enough to be considered by Premier League teams as a solid
option?

Before I start I'd like to send out a message to Alan's Hansen and Shearer, Phil Thompson and
any Spuds out there. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
What a start to the season. The victory was not unexpected but the scoreline was. We all know
that with the way we play we are bound to thump teams from time to time, but what surprised me was
that it was Everton at Goodison.

I'll be honest – I never thought Arsenal would sign Karim Benzema but when I heard the rumours
I wanted to believe them.
Benzema is a name everyone will hear about for years to come regardless of him starting out in
Ligue 1 – so too did Zinedine Zidane.

Afternoon all, No Bentner has not been snapped up by the NBA (which is bitterly dissapointing),
and Adebayor has not signed a multi million pound deal with a club none of us have ever heard
of situated somewhere distant where he will never see the Champions League or much ever again
(which would be great)!

Nicklas Bendtner has come a long way this season. He started as our third choice striker, with
Eduardo out injured. But he has ended up as arguably our most effective striker; this will make
Wenger's decision as whether or not to sell Adebayor slightly easier.
Bendtner started the season as the Carling cup striker, but slowly progressed as a first team
starter and scorer.

Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner is overall satisfied of his season but believes he could have
done more and is already looking ahead of next season.
The striker is quoted as saying by Sport.co.uk:

opinion, I played like a Sunday League player.

Watching our collapse against Manchester United set me to thinking about what changes we need to
make at Arsenal. Right now we just aren't good enough to win a trophy. We need to offload some
players and we need to start looking at other players who could come in and address our
shortcomings.
