This Sunday, at 4:00, in Coquitlam, the Sounders Women will kick their season off against their
neighbors to the North. The rivalry between these two teams is not unlike the men's sides. There is
certainly no love lost between these teams. Especially since Sydney Leroux signed with the
Sounders, rather than her "home" team.
Starting line-ups and benches will be announced and posted approximately an hour before
kickoff.

Still awaiting official notice of his suspension for entering the field of play in last Saturday
against Chivas USA, Peter Nowak said at Wednesday's weekly press conference, "I don't really want
to go into details before the whole situation with the verdict and we see what happens.
It's not a great day news wise for Sporting KC today, with two bits of bad news coming out today.
First, Sporting KC's reserves, the Swope Park Rangers, took the field against the Colorado Rapids
in reserve league play. From the beginning, KC was the stronger side, controlling the game and
attacking consistently, but were unable to grab the lead.
By mandate the day began waaaaaay too early for us. We had arrived back in L'estartit at 2 am
after our Champions League adventure and had to get up at 8 am, eat breakfast on the fly to depart
to Palamos for the MIC Cup 2012 opening ceremony.
Every team is present and it was quite the spectacle.
Continuing the "Plight Of..." series which has led us around the league, looking into those who
work behind the scenes, looks at the MLS Athletic Trainer. On the sidelines, typically with medical
bags or water bottles attached to their hips, these are the people charged with keeping the players
safe from themselves.
Flamengo beat Bangu 2-1 on Sunday thanks to two goals from Vagner Love and to celebrate one of
those goals, Love, Ronaldinho and a third teammate played leapfrog in front of the benches.
Even at 32 years old, there aren't many footballers who have more fun while playing than
Ronaldinho.
Starting line-ups and benches will be announced and posted approximately an hour before
kickoff.
Use this space to discuss the game, the hilarity that would ensue should Vancouver Whitecaps
lose to the New England Revolution in the MLS Cup Final, and whether or not after scoring the
inevitable hat trick, Sebastian Le Toux will do this dance in front of Peter Nowak.
First rumored on February 29th, the Seattle Sounders FC will face Chelsea FC in this year's
midseason friendly on Wednesday 18 July 2012. This will be Chelsea's third trip to Seattle in the
past nine years, and second facing the Sounders. Also in the press release announcing the friendly
is that the club will sell a four-pack of tickets that includes the Portland Timbers, Vancouver
Whitecaps and the August 5th visit by the LA Galaxy, their second.
Starting line-up and benches will be posted approximately an hour before kickoff. I will tell
you in the comments when I have this posted updated so you can refresh the comments.
Use this space to discuss the game, why Chicago Fire are the only MLS team to have "Soccer Club"
at the end of their name, and whether or not you think this match will have the same result as the
2010 Stanley Cup Finals.
AAAAHHHHHHHH I AM ARTUR BORUC AND THIS IS A LIST OF THINGS THAT MADE ME ANGRY THIS WEEK:
1. WAITING -- I HATE WAITING FOR THINGS!!!!!!!!!!!! I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT I'M WAITING FOR BUT
IT'S ALREADY AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHH THIS INVISIBLE CHAIR IS OFFERING ME NO BACK SUPPORT
AT ALL!
Chidge is joined by ChelTel, Dazza, Pablo, Ross, the Celery Terrorist and a packed ‘benches' this
week to discuss the great win against Napoli and Fernando Torres returning to scoring form against
Leicester.
What an unbelievable week for Chelsea supporters! First we had the remarkable win against Napoli
last Wednesday, the exact score line predicted on this very show last week by Chidge, Ross and
Dazza!
With so many Spanish clubs in massive amounts of debt, they're being forced to get creative in
finding new streams of revenue. Sevilla have already proven to be innovators in sucking some extra
cash away from their fans by allowing them to buy the placement of a tiny photo of themselves in
the number on the back of their favorite player's shirt.
The blog I don't want to write.
No one knew what had happened as we were watching the ball slide off for a throw but
straightaway realised it was serious because both sets of physios dashed onto the field. The player
lay face down and still. I wondered out loud if the urgent attention paid to his head meant he had
swallowed his tongue but quickly he was on his back.

First Kick is (almost) in the books with only a sold out Jeld-Wen Field left for Monday night.
Here is a look at the first week of attendance figures from around Major League Soccer. The first
set of games featured Colorado hosting Columbus and Vancouver hosting Montreal's inaugural match.
21k sold out BC Place for Vancouver's home opener while just over 14,700 were DSG for the
Rapids.
Martino will not call the game in a conventional sense. Instead, he will occupy a role "Between
the Benches" during matches with White remaining in the broadcast booth. From this vantage point,
Martino is expected to provide unique field level insight in addition to game analysis. NBC
currently employs a similar technique during their hockey coverage, using an "Inside the Glass"
analyst.
Chidge, ChelTel, Celery Terrorist, Pablo, Dazza Mental and the ‘Benches' report back on what
seems like Chelsea's first win in ages, against Bolton, and the welcome return of Super Frankie
Lampard and The Bison!
Chelsea got back to winning ways on Saturday with a fairly easy win against Bolton, but of more
significance for the supporters was that AVB seemed to get with the programme and actually picked
the right team.

I'm not going to bother you with my personal issues this time (it's going to be couples
therapy), but my God, what a game.
I told you last week we were at that school, right? Last Saturday we were using that same field,
but now there were at least a thousand people, maybe more. Everybody was dressed up to go to a
fancy AC New Years Party, there was a great atmosphere.
Arsenal have announced the timetable for the events to mark the 125th anniversary celebrations
at tomorrow's match against Everton. The club have sent out an email to fans saying you are
encouraged to arrive early to experience a number of special moments to mark the celebration. See

The pre-match hype was all about squad rotation. Who of those gracing the benches of these deep
squads was going to make their rare first team appearance tonight? For Manchester City, players
like Nigel de Jong, Kolo Toure, and Adam Johnson were looking for a rare place in the side. For
Arsenal, the troop of [.
The Winter transfer window is just around the corner and many clubs are already flying their
agents to every continent to scout for the best talent. Chelsea coach Villas-Boas has already sent
out his newly appointed European scout to Italy to look for a replacement for the aging Didier
Drogba while fellow London Club Arsenal through their manager/scout Arsene Wenger have already set
their eyes on Borussia Mochengladbach forward Marcos Reus.
By Tony Edwards - San Jose, CA (Oct 13, 2011) US Soccer Players -- In this edition, Tony finds
influence in celery and jade, that the Galaxy just fell short of a rare achievement, and asks how
the new US World Cup TV rights deal can be good for MLS. The San Jose Clash: the most influential
team ever in American soccer?
I think we all know what is on the line tonight for the Philadelphia Union (11-7-5) as they play
their last game of the season, on the road at New York Red Bulls (9-8-16). In addition to what the
Union are playing for, the New York Red Bulls need a victory tonight to ensure a playoff spot. A
draw or loss, and nothing is guaranteed.
The Museum & Stadium Tour of Manchester United's Old Trafford ground, the self-styled "Theatre of
Dreams" is hugely popular with football fans from all over the world, not just Manchester United
supporters.
Participants of our tour included visitors from Hong Kong and Russia as well as Swansea City
supporters in Manchester for their team's Monday night game with Manchester City.
After managing a draw in a huge road fixture at Sporting Kansas City, the Philadelphia Union
(9-7-13) will play host to D.C United (9-8-11) and depending on the result tonight, the Union could
find themselves as high as 2nd place in the Eastern Conference and as low as 5th place.. Kickoff at
PPL Park is scheduled for 8:06:30 PM ET.
It's been reported in Thailand that Muang Thong United and their coach Henrique Calisto have parted
ways. Which is fair enough when you consider the back to back champions haven't won a Thai Premier
League game since August 20th when they beat TOT 3-1. Indeed their last home win was 10 August when
they thumped Bangkok Glass 6-2.
Apparently Office Joe is some sort of soothsayer as he predicted D.C. United would win (although he
had the score wrong) and he somehow new that United forward Charlie Davies would return to his
early season goal scoring form, predicting Davies would have a "break out game".
The hat-trick from Davies and the much needed 3 points where obvious positives from Saturday night
in L.
Everything was going so well. Sure, a few harsh and untimely challenges from both clubs, but it
will always be an element of this bitter rivalry. For ninety minutes (plus the ninety from the
first leg on Sunday), Real Madrid and Barcelona wowed the masses with a display of football that
puts both clubs light years ahead of the rest of the competition.
In an ugly ending to a spectacular Spanish Super Cup game, Jose Mourinho pulled the ear of
Barcelona assistant manager Tito Vilanova while the melee was going on between Real Madrid and
Barcelona players and coaches.
The cheeky move by Mourinho happened when he walked behind the crowd of players -- and with
Vilanova's back facing him -- Mourinho reached around and forcefully pulled Vilanova's ear.
Oh come on, don't tell us you want to be reading about all these dull and never-ending summer
transfer sagas! Let's hop onto the Piqueira Lambo and
find out what they've been up to in Miami. As you know, Barca are currently on their US tour and
earlier this week, Puyol, Busquets and Pique all turned up to support Shakira's charity, the
Pies Descalzos Foundation, in aid of underprivileged children with a focus on
Latinos.
With two games in hand and tied with Columbus Crew for first place in the Eastern Conference,
the Philadelphia Union (8-4-7) will play host to the defending MLS Cup winners, Colorado Rapids
(7-6-10). Kickoff at PPL Park is scheduled for 7:36:30 PM ET.
If you have not already, be sure to check out the following previews from The Brotherly Game

One of the top side's in Spain's La Liga and perennial UEFA Champions League contender Real
Madrid is coming to Philadelphia for a much anticipated international club friendly against the
Philadelphia Union. For Real Madrid, this is a pre-season friendly and a trip similar to the
Philadelphia Union's trip to Greece earlier in the season.
The English Premier League is coming to Philadelphia as last year's 7th place team, a for one
night only Tim Howard-less Everton, comes to PPL Park to take on the Philadelphia Union. For
Everton, this is a pre-season friendly and a trip similar to the Philadelphia Union's trip to
Greece earlier in the season.
Fresh off a frustrating 0-0 draw where they outplayed Sporting Kansas City for 90 minutes but
were unable to get the needed finish, the Philadelphia Union (6-4-5) look to climb back into first
place in the Eastern Conference as they host the 8th place team out Western Conference, Chivas USA
(4-6-5).
Just a few days after the Union's ended their unbeaten streak with a loss to a struggling
Vancouver Whitecaps FC team, the Philadelphia Union (6-4-4) will come back home to try and get
three points against the last place team in the Eastern Conference, Sporting Kansas City (3-6-4).
Kickoff at PPL Park in Chester, PA is scheduled for 7:30 PM Eastern.
TGIF, amigos!! Unfortunately, this doesn't apply to the Selecao who
are training hard to face the Dutch tomorrow (vai, vai vai!!) Under the watchful eye of Mano
Menezes, the squad was divided into two groups (wearing red and grey vests) and played against each
other at the Serra Dourada.
