The 2011 MLS Combine is in the books, but before all of the focus turns towards where these guys
will be playing this season, we're looking back at the event's top performers.
Several of the top prospects did not participate in the Combine, but there were still many
players who showed considerably well over the three days worth of matches in sunny Ft.
The bench is not a place where Lassana Diarra feels he should be and made his feelings known to
the office members of Real Madrid by stating that he wants to the Bernabeu.
At just 25-years old, Diarra is definitely an impressive player but after the arrival of German
midfielder, Sami Khedira, Jose Moruinho has not picked Diarra as one of the starting XI.
Napoli 3-0 Juventus ( Edinson Cavani hat trick) January 9, 2011- Naples, Italy- Italian Serie A
Juventus' poor start to 2011 continued as they were beaten 3-0 by Napoli at Stadio San Paolo. The
result came days after the Bianconeri had been beaten 4-1 by Parma. All three Cavani goals were

After being a regular starter for Borussia Moenchengldbach for the better part of two and a half
seasons, U.S. national team midfielder Michael Bradley days with the relegation-threatened German
club appear numbered.
Bradley has come off the bench in Moenchengladbach's past two matches, with rumors swirling
about clubs interested in his services.
Javier Hernandez came off the bench to score the winner in Man Utd's
2-1 win over West Brom on New Years day. West Brom missed a penalty with the scores at
1-1.
Joe Cole came off the bench to snatch a last-gasp winner as Liverpool got 2011...
On Monday we outclassed Chelsea at the Grove. Yesterday the same starting line-up won a
comfortable away victory against a Birmingham side notoriously hard to beat at home.
Finally we have a first eleven.
The second string is the one that played at Wigan and was unlucky to only draw.
Kickoff from Ewood Park at 20:00 GMT and 3:00 EST.

Liverpool:
Team sheet when it's released.
Cristiano Ronaldo was the headline grabber with three of the goals but the bigger story was Kaka
scoring his first goal after returning from an eight month injury layoff. Jose Mourinho celebrated
in his usual over the top style which led to this bit of agitprop by Cani. The Villareal midfielder
was punished with a red card.
Kickoff from Bloomfield Road at 20:00 GMT and 3:00 EST.

Match not televised live in the UK; Fox Soccer Channel has it in the US.

Liverpool:
Team sheet when it's released.
Just days after Jermaine Jones made the move from the German Bundesliga to the English Premier
League, now comes word a U.S. teammate of Jones could be joining him in the EPL.
Sunderland is lining up a transfer bid for U.S. World Cup midfielder Michael Bradley. The Black
Cats are believed to be looking for a potential replacement for Lee Cattermole, who is battling a
back injury and is drawing transfer interest from the likes of Liverpool, and Bradley could be just
the player to solidify the midfield for Steve Bruce's side.
Darren Bent is what I call a stupid English footballer. It's not a reflection on his
intelligence per se, though I'm pretty sure he's no educated sophisticate.
Here is a decent player, not exceptional but decent. But he has a small football brain. He hangs
on the shoulder of the defender and hopes to get a run in on goal.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has ordered his stars to embark on a grueling
training routine.
According to The Sun, Fergie has shocked the United squad by putting them through their paces in
extra training sessions since last week in an attempt to get them into tip-top shape in their quest
to become the record-breaking league champions for the 19th time.
Thanks for giving me the chance to rest
The transfer window has already been opened for 18 days but there is still no sign of impending
transfer coming to Arsenal. In Chinese, the number 18 represents something which means very
prosperous. In that sense, should Arsene Wenger announce any new signings today, I'm very sure he
would be a massive player who would bring trophies to the club.
Arsenal beat Leeds 3-1 to move to the fourth round of the FA Cup. Samir Nasri, Bacary Sagna and
Robin van Persie were the Arsenal scorers, and the Gunners will now play Huddlesfield on Jan. 30 at
Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal got off to a dream start when Nasri scored his 14th goal of the season after only five
minutes.
How will Neymar perform vs Colombia?
Brazil's Under 20s take on Colombia in their second game in Peru tonight. Following their 4-1
win over Paraguay, Brazil coach Ney Franco is forced to make changes. Zé Eduardo and Henrique are
suspended. Oscar drops to the bench. Fernando, Diego Maurício and Willian José come in.
Arsenal's Spanish goalkeeper Manuel Almunia has given a strong indication that Manuel Almunia
may leave in the winter transfer window. Almunia last played for the Gunners back in September
where his errors condemned Arsenal to a 3-2 away defeat to West Bromwich Albion.
"Almunia is on standby, that means he is here," said Wenger at his pre-match press conference on
Friday.
That's right, your eyes are not deceiving you.Our beloved set a new unwanted record on Saturday
night.Heaviest defeat at home by a team from outside Athens or Thessaloniki. And this coming days
after our massive 'away' victory against pao only 3 days earlier.
So what went so wrong????Honestly,i'm not sure.
Arsene Wenger is no longer hiding his interest in the Southampton teenager Alex Chamberlain,
which may be pushing Andrey Arshavin right out of the Emirates door. All signs point to the
17-year-old winger making a move to Arsenal for around £10m this week, as the U-18 international
has apparently decided to snub the Manchester City jersey and Newcastle United for a move to the
Gunners.
By Ulysse Pasquier, writing from Montreal
Arsenal fans have been increasingly frustrated with the duo's performances in the recent weeks,
especially following their important involvement in the Gunners' two-game cup ties against
lower-league clubs Leeds and Ipswich.

Javier Hernandez came off the bench to score another winner for Manchester United, to help keep
the team at the top of the league in 2011.
"I remember I was near the goalkeeper," he said. "Wazza crossed the ball, I moved
towards it and headed it into the goal. I was very happy to celebrate with our brilliant
fans.
If I could read the minds of players, this could (or should) be some of their new year's
resolutions:
Ando: I resolve to keep playing like a raging bull in the middle of the field and stay after
practice to work on my shooting and finishing in the box.
Berba: I resolve to stay positive even when if I get dropped to the bench after scoring a
million goals in one game.
Baudet will be missed, his size, field presence and ability are great commodities that will be
hard to replace. He wasn't a starter on the fantastic Rapids defense near the end of the season and
his late season role of "size off the bench late" probably didn't fit his style as he'd like.
Talk about being spoiled. Fans of the Los Angeles Lakers have paraded the last two summers as
their team won NBA championships. This season, going for three championships in a row, the Lakers
are having some issues. On Sunday, the Lakers were pounded by the Memphis Grizzlies at home by a
final score of 104-85.
Arsenal goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski confessed he is finally enjoying himself with the Gunners after
having to sit on the bench for almost three consecutive years. Speaking to Arsenal TV Online, the
Polish International explained how at ...
Swearing fun at the Bridge If Roman Abramovich thought ditching Ray Wilkins would give his bench a
friendlier appearance, he had accounted for Aston Villa's late equaliser in the 3-3 draw on Sunday.
Even the members of the supposedly fairer sex were giving the Blues' dugout a rough look at the end
of the match.
Daniel Agger has given Roy Hodgson another headache by threatening to quit Liverpool if he is not
handed a regular starting berth.
The two have not seen eye-to-eye since Hodgson took over at Anfield, with Agger criticizing the
Reds' direct style of play earlier this season.
That row was defused when Agger was ruled out for three months with a damaged calf but, after
returning to the team for the 2-1 win over Bolton, he has again taken issue with his boss.
Ah, Everton. A team I should have some fondness for because they've got noisy neighbours like us
and while I was growing up for some reason most of my friends wore their blue and pretended they
were Neville Southall or Tony Cottee, but I don't. It annoys me how they go from one season to the
next flitting between challenging for Europe or escaping relegation.
Good news today that summer signing Dan Gosling is closing in on his Newcastle United debut. Dan
Gosling could be ion the bench tonight And it's possible, and probably likely if he passes a
fitness test later today, that he'll be on the bench for tonight's game against West Ham United.
Dan accompanied the [.
There will be no more midfielders, strikers, or goalkeepers. The only question is cover for
Thomas Vermaelen whose Achilles heel injury seems to be dragging on forever.
Vermaelen's been a fantastic addition but is a known injury risk. While at Ajax he missed a
substantial number of games in four out of the five seasons.
Alexis Sanchez whom we've supposedly been tracking for a while now will stay at Udinese at least
until the end of this season. After that, it's fair game and while he's supposedly best suited to
play out on the ring wing, it's safe to say that we've got that position covered sufficiently well
between Nani and Valencia.
STARTERSA huge blast of recognition must go out to Kristine Lilly today. She has retired from the game
after only 352 caps for the USA. Yes, 352! That is staggering. Best wishes to her!
TEAM USAThe annual January training camp for young and out-of season players with national team potential
begins tomorrow Tue Jan 4 in Carson CA and ends with a friendly game on Sat Jan 22 at the Home
Depot Center.
Jozy Altidore should see some significant time off the bench for Villarreal who welcome in Valencia
for the return leg of their Round of 16 Copa del Rey match-up.
Trot on Bolton's well-documented injury problems have left Owen Coyle with just 15 first-team
players at his disposal. What has been slightly baffling is his refusal to call upon an Academy
player, even if it was just to warm the bench and sample the atmosphere of senior football. Instead
he named just four substitutes for [.
Aston Villa have completed the loan signing of Kyle Walker, Tottenham's young
right back signed from Sheffield Utd about 18 months ago, before being promptly loaned back and
then playing at QPR on loan this season. He'll be on loan with Villa until the end of the season, I
don't know yet if there is any option to make the move permanent.

Well someone has made a point to Carlo Ancelotti this afternoon and that's Danny Sturridge!.
Chelsea smacked Spurs reserves 7-3 at Cobham this afternoon and with Chelsea's front line
struggling for goals, suffering from Malaria and trying to deal with a lack of form, Sturridge has
made a claim for more starts!
One thing stands out for me of late and that's the Chelsea bench. Not just the players sitting
there and the lack of squad depth, I am talking of the void next to Carlo. For me anyway there
seems to be something missing, the link between the players and Carlo.
Everyone of course has an opinion about Butch Wilkins and is entitled to theirs.
