Russian club Zenit St. Petersburg are said to be interested in signing Andrei Arshavin on loan according to reports from the icy city. Of course this should not come as a surprise to many fans who believe that the 30 year old is one of the club's recent worst signings.

Most of Arshavin's 27 appearances this season have been as a substitute, forcing Arsene Wenger to rule him and his misfiring strike partners Yossi Benayoun and Marouane Chamakh to the reserve team.

Looks like the Andrei Arshavin era at Arsenal is coming to an end as the Gunners have loaned Arshavin to his old club, Zenit St. Petersburg, for the rest of the season, according to The London Evening Standard.

5-2? What a day, and not just for the bookies. Hyperbole it may be, but I can think of few more suitable games to be described as epic.

I admit it, I approached this game full of pessimism. We're not as bad as some make us out to be but it is beyond dispute that we have declined, while our N17 neighbours have finally, finally got themselves a decent squad.

Coming into the North London Derby, to say that Arsenal were in a funk would be an understatement. After demolishing Blackburn Rovers 7-1, and needing a goal by on loan Thierry Henry to rescue the win late against Sunderland, the fixture list turned to the Champions League and FA Cup, where we all know what happened.
