Some might argue that one of the biggest problems to have hamstrung Liverpool's progress
is that no one really knows where they fit in to the team.
As one player appears to be heading for the Anfield exit another seems set to continue his

Liverpool winger Ryan Babel is reportedly close to an Anfield exit, with Sunderland
ready to renew their interest.

Beleaguered Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has admitted he may not make signings during the transfer

because of the weather, but because it gave them a few more days to build some confidence and it

I won't argue that Liverpool FC deserve something more out of the last two matches based on

Two typical Stoke goals, but one on each end. For 90 minutes, you could have switched the teams'
kits and would have fooled me. And for 90 minutes, it worked.
Rafael Benitez must have been feeling that perhaps he was not destined to take Liverpool to
their first trophy win since 2006 when Robert Huth poked in a last-gasp equaliser for Stoke on
Saturday. Lucas had already had a possible penalty shout denied in the first half and was booked
for his troubles, and Dirk Kuyt went on to hit the post in the 95th minute.
This is a big one and not just because both sides could do with a win, after achieving
disappointing results on Saturday.
A win for Liverpool will firmly put us in our place and give them the psychological advantage in
the race for a Champions League spot. A win for us would open up a gap of 7 points and possibly

To borrow the slightly derisory words of Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson,
Tottenham are a 'top side' and no longer the 'mugs' that they once were, with a bounding start to
the season already seeing them dispatch of reigning European champions Inter, bitter local rivals
Arsenal and (most consumately of all) Champions League also-rans Werder Bremen with their patented
brand of gung-ho bombardiering.
Dynamo Moscow want to sign Yossi Benayoun from Liverpool and are prepared to offer £7million for
the Israel midfielder.
Rafa Benitez would take some convincing to part with one of his favourite performers but the offer
is well timed for cash-strapped Liverpool.
Benayoun signed a new deal in the summer but Dynamo will offer him a four-year deal worth £75,000
a week, with the tax rate significantly lower than in Britain.
Liverpool have denied claims from Dinamo Moscow that a £7 million deal had been agreed to take
Yossi Benayoun to Russia.
Moscow Sporting Director Konstantin Sarsania had apparently claimed that the 29-year-old midfielder
was on his way to his club.
However, the Reds moved quickly to quell those rumours on Wednesday.
