Arsenal end the season on a high by AM Arsenal and Arsene Wenger managed to end the season in
exactly the same manner they played all season long, through a comeback. The Gunners managed to
pull back from a 2-1 deficit against West Brom and won the game which saw Third Place secured at
last, [...]
szólj hozzá: West Brom 2-3 Arsenal
Ben Foster's injury withdrawal an hour before kick off turned out to be the best thing in
Arsenal's afternoon at the Hawthorns. The Gunners actually turned in a poor display but sparsely
played Martin Fulop who was Foster's stand in gifted the visiting side all their goals.
Wow that is definitely the craziest final day in the Premiership I have ever seen! Never mind about
Man City winning the Premier League in injury time (which was more than exciting in itself) but
Arsenal's finally successful endgame was enough to keep my heart racing. After Arsenal went 1-0 up
in just 4 minutes [.
This is it! This is the big one! Ninety minutes that can turn a mediocre season into an
acceptable one. Ninety minutes to make certain of third place. Ninety minutes to confirm
Champions League football for the coming season.
Back in August few would have believed that we could be in third place with one game to
play.
Such is the trepidation that third place is being regarded with by ourselves, Spurs, Newcastle
and Chelsea, one wonders if hasn't been contaminated with some kind of lurgy. Perhaps it has been
seen accompanying Joey Barton and his entourage at a fast food outlet at 3am? Or maybe it's been
subject to a takeover bid from the Venkys?
Last Saturday, in the game against Norwich, Vermaelen won possession around the halfway line in
the 26th minute and proceeded on a run towards the opposition box. Arsenal did manage to get enough
bodies forward but Sagna's cross was easily cleared leading to a counter-attack that resulted in
the visitors' second goal.
Norwich came to the Emirates with nothing to lose and expressed themselves with gay abandon. The
visitors fought hard, were impressive in their transitions, deservedly scored three goals while
exposing Arsenal's weaknesses, and took back a rightfully earned point.
Arsene Wenger started with the same line-up that fought hard for a draw away to Stoke.
Match report Video By the numbers
Even in the cold light of a rather hungover day it's hard to put into words what we saw
yesterday.
As others have suggested it rather summed up our season, we fought hard to get back into a good
position, then let it slip through carelessness and over-complication.
This season is turning into a nightmare for Arsenal fans after today's 3-3 draw at home against
Norwich.
Arsenal's fans worst fears are that Spurs finishes above the Gunners in third place and that
Chelsea grab that fourth Champions League spot by beating Bayern Munich in the Champions League
final in two weeks.

With five games to go, 3rd place was in Arsenal's hands. It wasn't the season we'd hoped for,
but considering how badly we started, we looked like saving some dignity. Four games later, we are
looking at another typical end-of-season collapse.
Of course, it's nothing like last season, where the prize we'd lost was far greater.
By Chris Wright
Arsenal's grip on their Champions League spot suddenly became incredibly tentative after coming
back from 2-0 down to 3-2 up, only for Steve Morison to nab a deserved equaliser for Norwich in the
last five minutes.
Yossi Benayoun opened the scoring after just 65 seconds with a slinky little number but Arsenal
found themselves 2-1 down at the break after Wojciech Szczesny wafted Wes Hoolahan's tame effort
over his line and was then left stranded as Grant Holt ballooned the Canaries ahead with a
heavily-deflected shot from the edge of the area following a quicksilver counter-attack.

Morning all, and welcome to a brand new week.
I will, this morning, be avoiding the hot topics of hatred and abuse and Match of the Day. In
the first instance there's very little you can do about it (especially as no club/fans are whiter
than white) and in the second any programme that would have The Goblin Prince as its guest, to
peddle his footballing philosophy, hardly needs me to further its agenda by complaining about them
and giving oxygen to the nonsense they broadcast most of the time,
Anyway, plenty to be going on with this morning, starting with the manager looking for the
skipper to drag us over the line and into third place this season.
Chest bump
In the end, a point was all we took home from Britannia Stadium. The most despicable place on
Earth (that's saying a lot considering my contempt of this place call Shite Hart Lane) where
education was never taught to these people and the still use fire as their form of light
source.
Not really too much to write home about after today's match, but let's go over a few talking
points:
* We started brightly and with a lot of purpose, so it was only natural that we conceded with
Stoke's first shot on goal. We do this far too often, and it's almost become a bit comical how we
don't make it hard enough for teams to score against us.
Fiorentina Ace Linked With Arsenal Move
According to Metro's website, Fiorentina's midfield playmaker
Adem Ljajic is a summer transfer target for Arsenal
FC.
Ljajic is a highly technical player and young enough to fit in the Gunners manager Arsene
Wenger's plans.
Who should be our two wingers for the remaining games? by KJ Arsenal fell victim to another frankly
stupid injury. Walcott has done his hamstring and now looks certain to miss the rest of the season.
However, it's not too bad and he should still make the Euros. As a result, Arsene must assess which

Morning all and what better way to kick off your Saturday than a massive game of football?
Make no mistake, today's game is huge. Not just because of the opposition and the recent history
we have with them, but because of our need for points in the race for a top four finish, and
ideally a third place one.
4-2-1-3, 4-4-2 or 4-1-2-3 and will Jack play 'in the hole'?
The current season was always going to be one of transition. Arsenal saw a number of new players
arrive in every area: Mertesacker, Santos and Jenkinson in defence, Arteta and Benayoun in midfield
and Gervinho, Park and the Ox upfront.

Morning all, a new week begins and begins with Arsenal looking to stretch their lead in third
place to a healthy 8 points, despite the fact that T*ttenham will have a game in hand.
Starting with the team news and we've lost nobody since Wolves and there may be a couple of
additions. Arsene says Gervinho is 80:20 to make the squad tonight while Kieran Gibbs is 50:50.
Yossi Benayoun has surprised me since joining Arsenal on loan last summer.
I've always believed that he was a very good player, an Arsenal player in the wrong shirt really,
but what I have been impressed with most of all is his fantastic attitude.
He hasn't spent as much time on the pitch as he would have liked but, when he does play, he always
give 110% to the cause.
Arsenal loanee and scorer in their 3-0 victory over Wolves, Yossi Benayoun has spoken out about
his feelings for both Arsenal and Chelsea for the first time since his cross-city move last
August.
That Benayoun would join Chelsea's city rival's Arsenal came as a surprise to many, however, for
the 31 year old, his decision was as a result of the freedom Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich granted
him.
Who are the underrated stars in this Arsenal side? by SV After almost all recent games, fans have
been clamouring about how underrated Alex Song is. They say that his terrific performances in front
of our defence (and often further up the pitch) deserve great recognition. And I agree, Songinho's
performances have been almost as [.
Wolves 0-3 Arsenal
A fine win, but one I followed only via the Opta messages on the notification screen of my phone. I
like to experience new matchday experiences, you see. It was a bit underwhelming if I'm honest.
Unlike the game itself, which from an Arsenal perspective at least was entirely whelming.

Aaron Ramsey's cameo appearance in our "class versus cash" victory over Abu Dhabi Oil Inc was
not his greatest moment in an Arsenal shirt.
He had slotted in pretty well after coming on in the 78th minute to replace Yossi "Busy Bee"
Benayoun.
But what we will all remember is the moment at the death where he was through on goal with a
chance to make it 2-0 and with Oxlade-Chamberlain and van Persie waiting in the middle to side foot
the ball into an empty net.

Arsenal 1-0 Manchester City
One-nil to the Arsenal, and as one goal wins go, that one was as sweet as it was deserved.
Sweet because we needed a win and we needed a performance after that baffling foot-off-the-pedal
defeat at QPR. Wenger said it was a blip and that yesterday we'd see the real Arsenal back the one
utterly reinvigorated since February and he was right.
Who wants to see my abs?
Let me make this perfectly clear at the very start. Please do not thank Arsenal, we did not do
it because we wanted Manchester United to win the Premier League. We are The Arsenal and we always
play to win. This was for us, the club, the fans and the players. That Manchester City were the
losers was just a name in the script.
Even with City's dodgy away form in recent weeks this game was always going to be a test of
Arsenal's abilities. Was the QPR result a blip or the beginning of yet another slump? On the back
of that performance there can be no arguments. The macro-level stats in the following tweet make
the case quite clearly.

Arsenal 1 (Arteta 87) Man City 0
(Premiership)
Sometimes the scoreline doesn't even close to telling the full story. It looks like we pinched a
tight game in the latter stages, but in reality this was one of the best and most passionate
performances we've seen from Arsenal in recent years.
On 28th August 20011 we lost to Manchester United 8-2. It was the heaviest defeat in our 125
year history. Two of our best players wanted out. We were 17th in the league with 1 point and
heading for our worst start in years
The press were scathing
Ollie Holt from the mirror said:
"Liverpool have strengthened while Arsenal have gone backwards"
On Talkshite Adrian Durham started using this slogan when referring to Wenger:
"he used to be good, now he's rubbish"
The press were unanimous that Wenger had lost the plot
The blogs were worse.

It may seem odd after Saturday's trouncing of Aston Villa to focus on an unused substitute from
that game.
But Arteta's wonder strike, Theo's returning confidence, Songinho's transformation into the new
Liam Brady and even Johan Djourou's unexpected solidity have all been well covered.
I want to focus on our on-loan Israeli international because I caught a glimpse of him during
the game as the camera tracked along our bench.
