D.C. United's recently-retired midfielder Ben Olsen is featured in the December issue of DC
Modern Luxury. The article focuses on Ben's love of creating and collecting art. Read the full
article here.
You can see a second image with some of Ben's interior design abiliites after the jump.
Here's the video from Benny's visit to Washington Post Live yesterday...
Ben Olsen is set to discuss his retirement on the Mike Wise Show this morning a little after 11
a.m. You can tune-in to 106.7 FM or listen online here.
Comcast SportsNet's Russ Thaler and Sebastian Salazar have rolled out a nice little tribute to
our man Ben Olsen. Sebastian has written a career-focused piece appropriately titled "A Decade of
Toughness and Trophies," while Russ cut together a look back video on #14's storied career.
The two do a great job of capturing what Benny meant to the team and DC community.
Martina Navratilova seems disinterested while watching some English Premier League action.
No surprise, she's on the Sunderland side of things.
Who lost 1-0 to Fulham.
I'd be yawning too.

The hottest rumor on the coaching carousel rumor mill appears to be the courtship of Caleb Porter
by DC United of Major League Soccer, as Steven Goff of the Washington Post reports.
Here's what I have been able to piece together since first reporting the Porter-DCU link several
weeks ago:
My contacts in coaching and soccer-industry circles say the University of Akron boss is atop the
MLS club's wish list to fill the head coaching vacancy left open by Tom Soehn.

Where is D.C. United headed?
That question hangs over a franchise with a trophy case unmatched by any team in Major League
Soccer. Two straight seasons of missed playoffs, a vacant head coaching post and a handful of
retired, aging or soon-to-be-leaving stars has D.

D.C. United's search for its sixth head coach has come to an end and D.C. has settled on a
coach with plenty of ties to the club.
D.C. has hired Curt Onalfo as its new head coach and could announce the decision as early as
today, sources told SBI on Monday.

In a way one could say DC United is settling for Curt Onalfo as their next head coach. They've
looked high and low but in the end it seems like Onalfo is their guy.
A couple reports suggest that DC will make the change as early as today.
After a somewhat lengthy search, DCU has (settled?) decided on Curt Onalfo to lead the Black and
Red in the 2010 season and beyond (conceivably a three year contract). After Akron coach Caleb
Porter turned the team down cold in favor of a new and lucrative contract at Akron, DC moved to
secure Onalfo ahead of the MLS Superdraft and the beginning of the preseason, which begins in
February.
DC United ended their coaching search by hiring former Kansas City Wizards head coach Curt Onalfo
to lead them in the 2010 season.
Onalfo is a former DC United assistant, and appreciates the task of rebuilding this proud
franchise.
I am very excited to lead D.C. United into a new era, building on its storied and successful
history," said Onalfo.
