According to Sky Sports News, Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp
ruled out any possible move for Manchester United goalkeeper Ben
Foster. He said,
"If United wanted to loan him, and I don't know if they do, it would be a problem for him to go
somewhere and not play.

I thought Daniel Levy was the Tottenham Hotspur Chairman? I was mistaken. It now seems that Mr.
Pavlyuchenko is the Chairman of the Board.
"I am prepared to accept any decent offer from Russia", said our new Chairman.
Coming back to reality; it looks as though our Cameron Diaz lookalike is so eager to leave us, he's
bypassed all forms of control at White Hart Lane.

The everlasting debate of us signing a keeper to replace Gomes, raged through the office once
again.
I do thank my lucky stars that most of my prestigious colleagues claimed that Gomes is a better
keeper than Ben Foster.
I didn't want to name and shame the under writer of yet another pointless office rant, but Pat, who
also happens to be my boss, started the "Gomes Out" campaign at the beginning of last season.

England manager

Just how serious is this mini-crisis at United?
Manchester United currently sit third in the Barclays Premier League table level on points with
Arsenal (who have a game in hand) and 5 points behind league leaders Chelsea. But how much is Sir
Alex relishing this most recent International break?

With the international break nearly over, the excitement of the Premier League will be back with us
and Manchester United will be looking to get back to winning ways against Everton at Old Trafford

Following the Chelsea defeat I began thinking about what the best Manchester United eleven

liveblogging adventure with Daryl and various commenters. If you missed the game I'll give you a

loss, was an encouraging result for England.

Ben Foster was again chosen to play for England this weekend but is disappointed not to get any
outings for his club of late.
"It's a weird one," said Foster. "I am third choice for United yet I am playing for
my country. It is very disheartening to not even be on the bench at United.

A second-half goal by Nilmar was the difference in a forgettable match between Brazil and

The England squad to play Brazil next Saturday in an International friendly has been announced. The
main news for
Man United is that Michael Owen has yet again not been included in the squad.
This isn't much of a surprise, he hasn't played that much for United, so why would he get into the
England squad?

Man United keeper
Tomasz Kuszczak has taken a swipe at fellow United keeper
Edwin

advice but he is only rejected.
If this is true, then I can understand why Kuszczak is frustrated, but is it really the best thing
to go to the papers?

Glen Johnson has pulled out of the England squad to face Brazil on Saturday in Doha after picking
up a slight injury in Liverpool's 2-2 draw against Birmingham City at Anfield on Monday night.
The 25-year-old played the full 90 minutes of the Premier League game before joining up with his
England team-mates, where he underwent a routine recovery session while the rest of the squad

No wonder Sir Alex Ferguson admires him so much. Igor Akinfeev may have conceded three goals
though none of them was his fault but he had pulled off a number of world-class saves which had
frustrated Manchester United.
He is only 23, but he has been first choice 'keeper at CSKA Moscow for six years now, and was
just 17 when he broke into the Russian side making him the youngest ever.

Now updated after the Ukraine and Belarus games (and some 'interesting' feedback) below is the
squad we think Don Fabio should take to South Africa, with reason for inclusion - and
exclusion...
Who should go...
Goalkeepers
David James - Has been first choice for a while now, and we are yet to find a
better alternative
Rob Green - He is the closest we have to a better alternative.

Reports today suggest that both Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand are both doubtful for Saturday's
match at home to Blackburn Rovers, presumably meaning we will have to rely on Jonny Evans and Wes
Brown to play in the centre of our defence.
Both Vidic and Rio have been criticised for their recent form, particularly in light of the
Liverpool game, when Rio was out-muscled and out-run by Fernando Torres, and Vidic was sent off for
his third game in the row.

You'll probably see this everywhere, but here it is anyway.
A couple of Barnsley fans decided to waste everyone's time by running onto the pitch during
injury time and scoring a goal on Manchester United during Tuesday's Carling Cup fourth round
match. United keeper Ben Foster made the mistake of trying to strip the ball from the one fan,
which set up an admittedly pretty nice little 1-2 that resulted in his fellow pitch invader scoring
off the volley.

Well that was just what the doctor ordered...and then some. Its hard to imagine a more perfect
result for Rafa and Liverpool Football Club, obviously having Javier Mascherano sent off late on
was not ideal but in many ways him giving his all for the team all the way until the last seconds,
hence the late challenge on Edwin Van der Sar, is in many ways a good thing and shows that the
Argentine is mentally back on the ball.
