After our dismal performance on Tuesday night and as a result elimination from the Champions League
the rumour mill has well and truly got into full swing. Again, the age of Chelsea's squad has come
into focus as Roman Abramovich is once again set (as reported) to ring the changes at Chelsea.
If you remember when Roman came to the club he appointed Peter Keynon soon after.

Footballers are a talented bunch (on the field anyway) and this compilation shows that the ol'
goal guarders can hit it like the rest of em!
6 First goal (and best) of the 2006 World Cup goes to German defender Philip Lahm.
7 Great goal from Steve Finnan of all people as he salvages a point for Ireland
8 -Scorching free kick from the Chelsea defender Alex to put Chelsea in control against
Liverpool in the Champions League
9.

When watching Manchester City's fantastic 4-2 Victory away to league leaders Chelsea, one thing
was paramount in that game and it wasn't Wayne Bridge V John Terry, Two red cards, Manchester
City's flowing football, Shay Given's commanding goal keeping or Roberto Mancini's great man
management and control of the game.
Bring it home.
Teams
Chelsea: Cech, Ivanovic, Alex, Terry, Ashley Cole, Lampard,
Ballack, Malouda, Kalou, Drogba, Anelka. Subs: Hilario, Joe Cole, Zhirkov, Paulo Ferreira,
Sturridge, Matic, Belletti.
Wigan: Pollitt, Melchiot, Gohouri, Caldwell, Figueroa, Boyce,
McCarthy, Watson, Diame, N'Zogbia, Rodallega.
While discussing the openness of the title race as predicted by Arsene, my thoughts were that
the year end table will look like United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, City, and doesn't matter
after that. But I wanted to wait till the end of the transfer window before making my predictions
for the season.
He wins and he's slated. He loses and he's feted. I don't get Avram Grant.
It all began when his buddy decided to give him a job. Fortunately for Avram, that buddy was a
billionaire Russian oligarch with a football club to spare. The media were not amused:
"Make one thing clear: there is nothing in Grant's professional CV that qualifies him for a
job as intricate and demanding as this.
Well I called for a fresh start to the new year and a good performance and that's exactly what we
got!. From the moment Danny Sturridge nipped in at the far post to prod the ball home we all knew
we were right on the money and Watford knew they were in for a long afternoon.
Within 30 mins we were 3-0 up and cruising and we were playing flowing football.
With the African players away on national duty oh! How? ooh! How? Would Chelsea manage to stay
adrift? I mean look at that line up it "only" starts – Cech, Ivanovic, A Cole, Carvalho, Terry,
Belletti, Lampard, J Cole, Ballack, Malouda, Anelka. In way I guess it explains how they managed to
score "only" 7 eh?

Saturday, 30th January 2010
Kick Off : 17:30 GMT
Venue : Turf Moor, Burnley
The English Premier League game between Burnley and Chelsea will be played at Turf Moor on
Saturday 30th January at 5:30 PM.
This afternoon Chelsea take on Wolves away in what will be no easy game as Carlo Ancelotti had to
contend with a squad to choose from with Seven players out. With one eye on Inter Milan in the week
Carlo has a decision to make. Does he field his best available eleven or does he hold back and play
a weakened side that he still believes will get the job done and three points?
Joe Cole set to start
The last few weeks have been not so good for Chelsea having seen us lose the top spot to Arsenal
first and then to Manchester United. Even though we have games in hand over our rivals, it is
always better to be having points on the table rather than games in hand. So, Birmingham are the
next visitors to the Bridge and it gives Chelsea a chance to go second in the table knowing that
Manchester United won't be playing a midweek league match due to the involvement in the small
matter, that is a league cup semi-final between Manchester City.
Moment of truth ...

Chelsea skipper John Terry has declared himself fit for Saturday's FA Cup final with
Portsmouth after scans confirmed he had not fractured his right foot.
Pomp and pageantry.

do Sul.
grave lesão no tornozelo.
By Saf Hossain, writing from London
Remember when Chelsea were placed under a transfer ban? Well, things might have been different
if that ban had been upheld. As it is, Messrs Cole, Belletti and Ballack will be looking for a new
team for next season - though it's probably a good bet that they won't have to look too hard.
For weeks now there has been rumour and speculation about who would be coming to Chelsea in the
summer and after the World Cup. We have been linked with the likes of Kaka, Ramos,
Silva, Schweinsteiger, Milner, Benayoun and Fernando Torres.
We know that Ballack, Joe Cole and Belletti are leaving the club with possibly more to be announced
before the season kicks off again.
Just about two weeks ago now Chelsea announced that three players – Juliano Belletti, Michael
Ballack and Joe Cole – would not have their contracts renewed and would be leaving the club.
Speculation suggests that, regardless of the amounts Chelsea are (or are not) willing to shell out
on new players, it is going to be a summer of change at Stamford Bridge.

Are Chelsea becoming a selling club? Just days after confirmation that Cole, Ballack and Belletti
would be leaving the club, it has also been announced that Miroslav Stoch would also be leaving the
club. He joins Fenerbahce on a 4 year contract after Chelsea agreed an undisclosed fee.
Stoch made his Chelsea debut against Arsenal when then manager, Scolari gave him the chance to
impress in the last 10 minutes.
As much as I enjoy that, by now quite old, bit of word play in the title, it was Chelsea who
played like a steaming pile of you know what on Saturday. The losing score line of 1-0, away at
City is not exactly to start an inquisition, but it did raise a number of questions.
comedidos.
