Alright people. Back from what felt like the longest international break in....well, ever,
Chelsea will take on Wolves at the Bridge tomorrow, and will do so with what would have to be
called a diminished lineup.
What the hell is going on with our injuries at the moment. As reported on here before, Jose
Bosingwa is out. Ashley Cole is out and we are yet to have confirmation when he will return. Frank
Lampard is out for three weeks. Didier Drogba has now been confirmed as out for three weeks with a
rib injury suffered when Jonny Evans peformed his Karate Kick on him and got away with it and John
Terry had to pull out of the England v Brazil game with an ankle problem but he hopes to be fit to

We all had the news yesterday that Jose Bosingwa has had to undergo knee surgery back in Portugal
and will now be out for upto three months of the season. He joins Ashley Cole on the injury list.

Chelsea cruised to victory last night as they beat Bolton 4-0. Goals from Kalou (yes he scored
again), Malouda, Deco and Drogba sealed an easy win as Chelsea progress to the League Cup quarter

I have been talking Chelsea up to anyone who would listen for the last few months and two games
into the Premier League season and I couldn't be happier with my predictions of glory for
Chelsea.
"Why?" You ask.
Of all of the top four teams in England Chelsea is the only squad without a glaring hole when
comparing their current squads to last year's teams.
The post Cristiano Ronaldo era ends. The Ancelotti reign begins. The Michael Owen experiment
will get proof tested. Lots of little subtexts to the Community Shield match which takes place
today at Wembley. Kick off at 1500 BST
Chelsea's attack will be without the services of Joe Cole and Yuri Zhirkov, out through
injury.
Chelsea have two injury doubts ahead of Sunday's game with midfielder Yuri Zhirkov
doubtful with a knee injury. Midfielder Joe Cole is still out with a knee ligament injury but Michael Ballack (toe) could be
passed fit. Manchester United are without defenders Nemanja Vidic (calf), Wes Brown (thigh) and Gary Neville
(groin).
Sorry for the lack of posts this week; it has been an extremely hectic last five or so days.
Anyway.
Chelsea netted twice in the final five minutes to salvage a 2-2 draw with Reading at the
Madjeski on Saturday afternoon. Kalou bagged the first I know, shocking with an own goal, set up by
the towering Alex, providing the late-game theatrics in added time.
Whatever you want to call them, Chelsea had 'em this season in abundance. From Super Frank's
absurd chip against Hull to Essien's mother of all volleys against Barcelona, it was truly an
unforgettable year for Blues goals.
Reports are that Barca's main target for this summer is Cesc Fabregas. Aren't you just squealing in
delight? He's got Barca blood in him and Arsenal stole him from us in the first place; we'd love
nothing more than to see him back home. We'll bring him back just like we brought back Gerard

So Manchester United are champions again. Congratulations to Fergie & Co. They did the minimum,
and still retained the title for the third consecutive year. Better that than a Liverpool
commencement. I assume you'd agree.
On to the week's main event, a home date with Blackburn Rovers. On the surface, it appears a
pushover.

Man, is it just me or has any kind of buzz revolving tomorrow's match against West Ham or any

So we're pretty much out of the race for a Prem title, and a possible treble.
It's a big game today in a competition that is by far this side's best chance at a trophy.
Kickoff is less than fifteen minutes away, and here is a look at the starting lineups:
Liverpool travel to Stamford Bridge in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League
quarterfinals, needing to recover from a 3-1 loss at Anfield in the first leg.
**Awfully surprising stuff emerging for Liverpool in the hour before kickoff...Steven Gerrard
ruled out completely, not even in the 18.
Alan Shearer came. But he couldn't conquer the Blues.
It remains to be seen if The Messiah will, in fact, be Newcastle's savior this season. On
Saturday's evidence, a 2-0 loss to Chelsea, he'll need to do more than just turn water into
wine.
The Blues overturned a drab first-half performance over the final 40 minutes to see off the
Magpies in Shearer's first game in charge.
Sorry for the delay in posts friends. I've been lacking creative inspiration, mainly because of
my first and last trip to Cleveland. Man, that city sucks. It's depressing.
"It's all too beautiful", the Small Faces reminded me on Sunday when Ji-Sung Park
scored his 18th minute goal.
I've had a bit of a pop at him over the last few days and I'm not afraid to say that I loved Mr
Park for a few minutes on Sunday. Just a few minutes, mind you. I still think he doesn't deserve a
place in the starting line-up but he WILL win me round if he keeps scoring important goals.

A new era in Chelsea football begins tomorrow. Uncle Phil, Deco, The Bos Jose Bosingwa if you
must make their Blues debuts, along with the rest of the crew, in the club's first preseason match,
against Guangzhou Pharmaceutical.
What a crazy club name. Anyway, it'll give us fans at least those with Chelsea TV a chance to
see how the club is being shaped under the new regime.
