Yes, I realize this poll and the previous one are mere formalities. I appreciate you indulging my
idiosyncratic need for completion.
I could have included eight in this list and still left out players that were better than some in
other polls.
In form Bellamy will stay at Manchester City
As we mentioned a few weeks ago, last
January in the Premier League we were treated to a handful of
major transfers. I mean, some
massive, massive moves: Arshavin, Heskey, Given, Beattie, Defoe, Bellamy, etc. all moved
clubs...
So, who will make the move in 2010?

Arsenal: Starters: Fabianski, Eboue, Song, Silvestre, Traore, Ramsey,
Eastmond, Rosicky, Wilshere, Merida, Vela.
The jinx is ended. A semi-final awaits - and against United no less.
Our own lack of confidence ahead of the game was certainly shared by Arsenal fans, but we needn't
have worried. Given some of our implosions at this stage of cup competitions in recent times a
comfortable victory feels somewhat strange, but satisfying nonetheless.
Tonight we are back in Premier League action against the richest club in World Football. Chelsea
travel to Manchester to take on the pretenders at Eastlands. After our midweek disaster against
Blackburn the big guns are back and will be raring to go as we look to carry on our impressive form
after a fantastic performance at the Emirates.

One thing that we have been able to rely upon in recent games - when we have not been playing well
- has been the ability to get back into games when required, something that has preserved our
unbeaten run.
Not tonight though. Through a combination of our own lacklustre play (comfortably our most poor of
the season) plus an impressive Tottenham performance, our unbeaten run came to a shuddering halt
tonight at White Hart Lane as Tottenham laid their claim to be a far more likely candidate for a
potential Champions League spot.

Almost there. Last poll, for center forward, early next week.
I debated over the name of the poll. "Second striker," "deep-lying forward," "attacking
midfielder," "trequartista.

This season's been utterly inexplicable. Confidence is smashed, the team is an utter shadow of
itself, and everything seems to be imploding. So, naturally, I feel the need to explain it. Time to
list every difference I can think of, as if that'll help. I should have just titled this post
"Blame Everybody.
Yesterday's result, which saw us move back up to sixth in the table (and only eight points off
second with a game in hand), was of course relegated to a minor footnote given events either side
of the ninety minutes that encapsulated many of the frustrations of recent weeks.
Hughes said he had no idea of the speculation that was growing about his future, but his decision
to axe Robinho and Adebayor following their midweek performances was certainly a statement.
And so Manchester City have a new manager. Roberto Mancini, Italian, 45 years old, is said by his
countrymen to be ‘kissed by good fortune' because he has won something at every club he has
previously managed. Well, there's a record right there that City might well threaten to break.
It may have been ugly, but there is little point now in dwelling on the departure of Mark Hughes.

Because Twitter won't let me post more than 140 characters, here are my thoughts about the
Premier League matches I watched on television Monday:
Sunderland can't hold on to a lead, Wolves can't score, Spurs look fast on the break, Bellamy
and Tevez are both dynamite when they're playing together, Darren Bent should start for England,
and Fulham looked amazing for 73 minutes.
Sometimes a 3-0 win is more satisfying than a 7-0 drubbing.
A 3-0 win can speak of a controlled and disciplined performance, an efficient despatching of a team
that (unlike in a 7-0 scenario) has not completely lost its head but has tried its utmost to defeat
you, and yet has still been beaten comprehensively.
