Around the web, though not on this site, there has been a lot of consternation over the proposed
change to CONCACAF qualifying. Most of this has centered around the probable loss of the
home-and-home between the US and Mexico, though some has extended well beyond that. The changes
have ramifications for nearly every soccer federation in CONCACAF.
La Federación Panameña de Fútbol (Panamanian Football Federation) has officially launched the
Panama 2011/12 Lotto home and away kits. The new La Roja strips will make their on -the-field
debuts when Panama hosts La Copa Centroamericana (The Central American Cup) starting on January
14th, 2011. Panama is grouped with El Salvador, Nicaragua and Belize in [.

Newly promoted side Barrio México continue to dominate their group with 24 points -- and an
11-point lead over second-placed Cartaginés -- as the Torneo Invierno approaches the halfway mark.
Alajuelense lead group B on 26 points, followed by Herediano on 20 and San Carlos on 17.
All of the Central American leagues have decided their league champions, with the exception of
Belize. Here is a roundup: BELIZE The Belizean Premier League is back in action, but with fewer
teams than before. The San Pedro Sea Dogs folded, so the remainder of their league matches has been
given a 0-3 result by the league authorities.
Belize is another country whose club teams have been excluded from the CONCACAF Champions League
for lack of international-caliber stadia. This is a report from Channel 5 News in Belize from last
May, when Belizean clubs were barred from this year's CCL competition. It looks like the stadium
improvements will center on two venues: Karl Ramos in Dangriga and Norman Broaster in Cayo.
Playoffs around Central America are in the final stage, and champions have been crowned in Honduras
and Nicaragua. Honduras: Olimpia won their 23rd league title on Saturday night after defeating
Motagua 3-2 on aggregate (3-1 and 0-1). It was also the first time that Olimpia had defeated
Motagua in a final after four attempts.
I had a feeling that CONCACAF would make its decision on the Nicaraguan and Belizean teams in the
Champions League at the last possible minute. Indeed they have -- Real Estelí and whoever is the
Belizean Premier League champion (Belize Defence Force or George Town Ibayani) will be shut out of
the CCL for the second consecutive year.

Well I hope my readers in the USA had an enjoyable Thanksgiving. All of the leagues in Central
America are in playoff mode, so it's a good time to take a tour of the region. BELIZE With nine
rounds played, Belize FC and Belize Defence Force have opened up a huge lead over the rest of the
pack in the Belize Premier League.
