One could forgive the Czech Republic for being a little circumspect in their preparations for
the 2012 European Championships. Having failed to qualify for the World Cup finals again two years
ago they've only qualified for one World Cup finals since the division of the Czechoslovakia's
national football team split into two early in 1994 their qualification for this European
Championships was modest and unspectacular.
Its been months since Ive posted, many, many months. To be honest, because of having to work,
and for other reasons, I havent been able to watch too many games lately. And Ive been far too
upset with the current state of the team to follow it too much.

Avram Grant takes over at Serbian champions Partizan
Avram Grant has taken many pundits by surprise by joining Serbian champions Partizan Belgrade as
coach from today.
With fifteen games played so far this season in the Jelen SuperLiga, Partizan have a ten point
lead over arch rivals Crvena Zvezda and already look set to continue their recent dominance by
winning a fifth consecutive title.

A couple of stories today after yesterday's gutty comeback win.
First off, Lukasz Fabianski has been ruled out for the season with his shoulder injury, which
will require surgery.
It's hard to believe, but preseason is just around the corner. All of our players are due at
training camp on Tuesday where they will presumably see how many of them have survived the
clearout, get checked out for knocks and face the media. As I've mentioned previously,
Nicholas Lindsay will not be playing this season after suffering an injury in a
snowmobile accident and Julian de Guzman is still working on his fitness after
undergoing surgery for his knee problem.
