Senegal winger Khalilou Fadiga has left Belgian club Geerminal Beerschot after the two parties
mutually decided to terminate his contract. Fadiga, 33, joined the Antwerp club earlier this year
from Gent. He had stated his desire to return to England a month back, saying he loved the way
football was played in the country.
Charleroi midfielder Tim Smolders will leave the Zebras in January to join Michel Preud D'Homme's
Gent. Smolders has signed a three and a half year contract with the Buffalos, and becomes their
second winter signing after Westerlo's Stef Wils. Smolders previously played for Club Brugge and
RBC Roosendaal before joining Charleroi.
