The winter transfer window closed this past Tuesday, and a pair of Americans who secured moves
during it will be looking to make their debuts this weekend.
George John and Robbie Rogers could make their first appearances abroad for West Ham United and
Leeds United, respectively, as the Championship gets back into a full weekend swing.
The winter transfer window across Europe closed on Tuesday, and a number of teams -- not the usual
big-spenders -- that were scrambling to fill vacancies and address needs for the second half of
their respective seasons were able to add some valuable pieces to the puzzle.
Queens Park Rangers fall into that category, adding firepower in the form of former Lazio
striker Djibril Cisse and Fulham forward Bobby Zamora.

the signing of an attacking midfielder will help them do that.

It's January, and in the footballing world January means only one thing. The winter transfer
window, where player names are bandied about as potential new players and the ones we love to hate
are bound and gagged in hopes that someone will take them off our hands.
For the next twenty one days, rumors will abound.
Two quick bits of Sporting KC news to throw out real quick for you.

Now he has signed for Belgian side CS Vise who play in the second division there. He will be among
friends as fellow Indonesians Yericho Christiantoko, Alfin Tuasalamony and Yandi Munawar at the
club owned by the same people who own Pelita Jaya and Brisbane Roar.

from trouble, he was stabbed several times in a Manchester bar while on-loan to Barnsley missing

Latest rumours surrounding Serbian International, Milan Jovanovic appear to suggest that the player
has almost agreed personal terms with Belgian club Anderlecht.
His agent has claimed that a deal has almost been done between the two clubs and that all that
remains now is for the forward to agree his weekly wages with the club.
Milan Jovanovic's agent Dejan Veljkovic believes the midfielder will "definitely" join Anderlecht
from Liverpool.
The Serbian winger has been told that he is surplus to requirements at Anfield, despite only
joining the club from Standard Liege last summer, scoring just two goals in 18 appearances.
Liverpool forward Milan Jovanovic is understood to have been offered the chance to move to the
Middle East and play for Al-Shabab Riyadh.
According to The Daily Mail, former Standard Liege manager Michel Preud'homme wants to bring the
Serbian to the wealthy Saudi Arabian club and is willing to match his current salary of £60,000 a
week in order to persuade him.

Mavinga Set to Join Rennes
Reports are emerging from France that Liverpool left-back Chris Mavinga is on the verge of a
move to Ligue 1 side Rennes. Mavinga, who was signed by Rafael Benitez back in 2009 from Paris
Saint Germain, is expected to undergo a medical with the French club on Tuesday as he has been
unable to force his way into the first team set-up at Anfield.
Liverpool defender Chris Mavinga is understood to be joining French club Rennes and has a
provisional date for a medical next week, according to Ouest France.
The 20-year-old Frenchman has been a player at Anfield for two years but has yet to force his way
into the first-team reckoning at Anfield, and will undergo a medical with the Ligue 1 side on
Tuesday.
Mustapha Jarju. You got that name? Alright. Learn it because he's MLS's newest Designated Player
today as Vancouver announced the signing of the 24-year old Gambian striker today.
Jarju joins Whitecaps FC after three successful seasons with Belgian club Royal Albert-Elisabeth
Club (RAEC) de Mons.
Liverpool winger Milan Jovanovic has been given permission to find a new club, after being told he
no longer features in the club's plans.
The Serbian has only been at Anfield for one-year after joining last season on a free-transfer from
Belgian club Standard Liege.
Despite appearing to find a place in Liverpool's starting XI, the winger subsequently found himself
frozen out of the team when Kenny Dalglish took the helm in January.
Liverpool defender Chris Mavinga will be allowed to leave the club for around £750,000 - with
Rennes and Villarreal the latest to express an interest.
Mavinga moved to Genk on a six-month loan deal back in December and talkSPORT last month revealed
how the Belgian club was keen on making a permanent move for him.
Belgian Pro League side Club Brugge Koninklijke Voetbalvereniging (usually called Club Brugge) is a
soccer club from Bruges in Belgium. It was founded in 1891 and is one of Belgium's most popular
teams. Club Brugge is the only Belgian club to have played in the final of the European Cup
(predecessor of the UEFA Champions League) [.
Liverpool left-back Chris Mavinga is wanted for another year at Genk, after helping the Belgian
club win the league this season.
The 20-year-old Frenchman moved to Genk on a six-month loan deal back in December and has done well
during his time in Belgium.
Genk manager Franky Vercauteren has been impressed with the Anfield rookie and talkSPORT
understands he has approached Liverpool asking to have Mavinga on loan for another season.
One of the worst tackle you're likely to see Liverpool left-back Chris Mavinga was probably hoping
to make an impression on the Reds' new management team during his loan spell at Belgian club Genk.
Instead he has made an impression on the head of Standard Liege star Mehdi Carcela-Gonzalez. The
Moroccan needed reconstructive surgery after [.

In which Genk defender Chris Mavinga (who is on loan at the Belgian club from Liverpool) takes
out Standard Liege winger Mehdi Carcela with a brutal head shot of a tackle...
Thankfully, justice was done in the end. While Carcela was carted off to A&E after 'escaping'
with a broken jaw and nose, Mavinga was booked.
Belgian international striker Romelu Lukaku is set to make a Barclays Premier League move this
summer.
The teenage prodigy has attracted interest from the cream of Europe, with Real Madrid, AC Milan,
Juventus and Barcelona all monitoring the Anderlecht forward in the past year.
A handful of English clubs have been tracking the player for some time, with Liverpool, Manchester
United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea all thought to be keen on bringing the player
to their club.
Liverpool is weighing up a £10 million move for Standard Liege midfielder Steven Defour after
Manchester United cooled their interest in the Belgian star.
United have been tracking Defour for more than two years but have indicated that they are unlikely
to follow up their interest with a summer bid.
The South American U-20 tournament is almost over, with Uruguay and Brazil fighting it out for
the tournament win on the last matchday Saturday. Going into the tournament, it was always going to
be the Neymar show, and with his seven goals, it hasn't disappointed there. But there are always
more stars than one in a tournament like this, and one who has gotten some attention is Ecuador's
Edson Montaño.
One of the main concerns for the US Men's National Team over the last few years is defensive
coverage, especially in the first 15 minutes of every match. The one stalwart that always seems to
give us hope as a center half is Oguchi Onyewu. He's appeared in 58 matches for the United States
in his career, and while he has given us glimpses of what he can do, the best word for me that
seems to fit his career at this point is.
AMSTERDAM, Netherlands Forgotten American defender Oguchi Onyewu made his debut for the Dutch
club Twente in a 5-0 league win over Heracles Almelo on Wednesday night. Onyewu was loaned to the
Eredivisie champion for the rest of the season on Jan. 11 by AC Milan, where he failed to make a
single appearance this [.
