So, as I promised earlier, I've done some research on the other countries in England's World Cup
qualifying group and even though qualifying is months away, I wanted to come out with a
guide/primer/preview of sorts of England's competition in Group 6 while the topic was still fresh
in people's minds:
1.
Netherlands vs. Bulgaria, 1430 EST
Amsterdam Arena - Amsterdam
A win here for the Dutch puts them in a decent position to advance. Playing at home and having one
of the best squads in the world, you've got to think they'll pull it off, but with the Oranje, you
never know. They were unimpressive in their recent loss to Switzerland, but it was only a
meaningless friendly.
Finally, we have group G and arguably the biggest match of the day as the Dutch travel to Romania.
Both countries sit atop their group table with 20 points, though the Romanians have the tie-breaker
due to overall goal difference. The Netherlands will be missing their number one, Edwin Van der
Sar, and striker Dirk Kuyt, while Romania is seemingly fully fit.
Slovenia vs. Belarus, Arena Petrol - Celje
Bulgaria vs. Luxembourg, Vasil Levski National Stadium - Sofia
Albania vs. Netherlands, Qemal Stafa - Tirana
Wow, what a crappy way to end my previews. I would personally rather slip n' slide on a gravel
driveway naked than watch Belarus take on Slovenia. If Hleb is playing, the visitors should win,
1-0.
