Yes, there is a rainbow in the picture. Those things are pretty and happy, right? But there's also
a UN truck on the touchline and I can't figure that's a good thing because, let's be honest here,
the UN is only called in when things have gotten way too real.
But if the latest news out of Liberia is to believed, that truck might be there for the purpose of
keeping players from issuing beatdowns to reporters who portray them in less than flattering
lights.
For whatever reason, this week LA has usurped Rebecca Black's "Friday" as the focal point of
America's hatred. Luke Rodgers thinks their captain is "a prick". Former striker Carlos Ruiz says
they ain't all that. And roommates/renters Chivas USA thinks their fans are as artificial as crash
test dummies.
Helluva weekend to be an MLS fan. Not only do we get the O.G. MLS beef, NY v. D.C., on Saturday
night but we get the latest installment of Gerald Ford-era footie fight Portland v. Seattle on
Sunday afternoon. The only way this could have been scheduled any better would have been a Friday
night fight between LA and Chivas USA.
The Yanks are ready and so am I. Bring on the night.

I have no idea what Jason Kreis said to David Beckham but my uneducated guess is that it was
something along the lines of "your Moms." Lip-readers, try to prove me wrong.
When questions of cheating and the Under 17 World Cup come 'round, usually it's more "Why does
Nigeria's defensive mid using a cane?" rather than "Where's the beef...for testing purposes?"
Luckily, the tournament was held in Mexico this year, which means questions of tainted food were
never going to be too far off.
