Alejandro Bedoya
Maurice Edu told Rangers manager Walter Smith that there is talent in them thar Yanks; with the USA
set to face Brazil tonight at the New Meadowlands, Rangers second-in-charge Ally McCoist will be in
New Jersey to scout the possibilities.
Specifically mentioned are Alejandro Bedoya and Benny Feilhaber.

After enjoying a day off, the U.S. men's national team returned to the field in Princeton for
the fifth day of the pre-World Cup training camp on Saturday. The players once again ended the
training session with some fitness drills, and followed that up by speaking to the media.

The U.S. men's national team will play its first match of 2010 on Saturday against Honduras in
Carson, California (9pm, Fox Soccer Channel/Telefutura), and while most of the team's top stars
won't be playing, the match is still an important one in terms of trying to figure out who are Bob
Bradley's best options to fill out the World Cup roster.

Alejandro Bedoya has begun to establish himself as a starter for Orebro SK, and his performance
on Monday was the latest piece of evidence.
Bedoya started and played 90 minutes in his fourth consecutive match as Orebro disposed of AIK,
1-0. The win ended Bedoya and Orebro's two-game skid and puts them in sixth place of the 16-team
Swedish League.
Six US Midfielders on the Radar For 2014 Alejandro Bedoya, Orebro--The Boston College product had
such a promising season in Norway, endearing himself to Orebro fans and USMNT fans alike-- that he
received a surprise call-up to the final USMNT World Cup camp and had a legitimate shot of making
the roster for South Africa.
The United States walked off the field in the Meadowlands with disappointment written on their
faces. The national team did not show well against a young and relatively inexperienced Brazilian
team. Although the game didn't mean much in the scheme of things, the US missed an opportunity to
gain a some respect in the soccer world.

With just three days of turnaround time, the U.S. men's national team figures to have a
different look on Tuesday night against Colombia from the squad we saw tie Poland on Saturday.
FC Dallas teammates Heath Pearce and Brek Shea have joined the team in Philadelphia, while
Carlos Bocanegra has returned to France.
The U.S. men's national team returns to action in a week and it will provide us our first
glimpse of the next cycle under head coach Bob Bradley.
Will Bradley start trying new things, which he seemed to suggest in his comments after his
re-hiring? Will we see a move away from the 4-4-2?
On Tuesday, Bob Bradley announced the 30-man preliminary United States mens' national team
roster for the World Cup. Here it is:
GK: Howard, Guzan, Hahnemann
Def: Bocanegra, Onyewu, Cherundolo, Spector, DeMerit, Goodson, Pearce, Marshall,
Bornstein
Mid: Donovan, Dempsey, Bradley, Holden, Kljestan, Rogers, Feilhaber, Torres,
Bedoya, Beasley, Clark, Edu
For: Altidore, Buddle, Ching, Johnson, Findley, Gomez
First things first.
The roster for the upcoming friendly against Brazil was announced last night: GK: Brad Guzan, Timmy
Howard D: Carlos Bocanegra, Jon Bornstein, Steve Cherundolo, Clarence Goodson, Chad Marshall, Jon
Spector M: Alejandro Bedoya, Michael Bradley, Landon Donovan, Maurice Edu, Benny Feilhaber,
Jermaine Jones, Sacha Kljestan F: Edson Buddle, Robbie Findley, Herculez Gomez This roster is
interesting to say the least and not at all what some of us.
Guess which MNT player is back training?
Gooch! That's right, the big defender is back in MNT training - the first time we've seen him in
U.S. MNT gear since last year. He arrived on Saturday and took part on all the events today,
including the dreaded fitness at the end.
The annual training camp for potential USA national team players that are out of season in winter
begins on Tue Jan 4 at the Home Depot Center training facility and ends with a game on Sat Jan 22 v
Chile at the HDC Stadium.

As the United States prepares to close up camp in preparation of Saturday's friendly with
Honduras, players have began to reflect upon their performance throughout the month.
This summer Northeastern University's Santiago Bedoya will travel to Sweden to go on trial with
Orebro in the Swedish Allsvenskan, the same club where older brother Alejandro currently plays.
Alejandro Bedoya and the Americans in Sweden will try to regroup with home matches this weekend
while Johann Smith may make his Kalmar debut.
It is back to work in the Allsbenskan this weekend with the Ryan Miller and Michael Thomas hosting
Djurgarden while Alejandro Bedoya and Orebro take on Trelleborgs.
U.S. players began arriving in Philadelphia this weekend to take physicals before the start of
training camp in Princeton, and it was discovered that forward Eddie Johnson has a hamstring
injury.
Alejandro Bedoya has permission to report late for training for the U.S. World Cup team's camp
in Princeton.

The most important non-World Cup match of the year for the U.S. national team will take place on
Tuesday, when the United States faces the Czech Republic in a friendly in East Hartford,
Connecticut.
The USA-Czech Republic friendly may just be an exhibition, but it will carry much more weight
than most friendlies ever could.
The World Cup dreams of several players will be on the line on Tuesday night at Rentschler Field
in East Hartford as we get our first glimpse of the group of players Bob Bradley will be choosing
from to shape his 23-man roster.
For the first time ever, Bob Bradley elected to choose a squad before the last possible
moment. As surprising as this may be, it wasn't nearly as baffling as one of his roster
seletions. Robbie Findley. Wow...
Anyway, as we did with the 30-man camp roster, we're going to compare our preferred roster to
the one Bradley selected.
With the World Cup over, as far as the United States Men's National Team is concerned, I'm going to
be be taking a multi-part look at the players currently making up our player pool, and the players
who will be making their case to be included on the 2014 roster. I'll be looking at who's played in
their last World Cup, who's got another tournament (or more) in them, and who will be fighting to
make their first World Cup roster.
Michael Thomas debuted in a new position for his new team, Ljungskile while Alejandro Bedoya and
Ryan Miller sat out the restart of the Allsvenskan.
Alejandro Bedoya and Orebro will try to fight past the core of Sweden's U21 roster while Michael
Thomas and Nick Noble look to halt Ljungskile's slide.
Another Monday matchup brings tough tests for Ryan Miller and Halmstad who host Malmo while
Alejandro Bedoya and Orebro welcome in AIK in Allsvenskan action.
Yura Movsisyan continues to shine in Denmark.

The Whole saga regarding certain MLS players seeing out their contracts to go sign with
Scandinavian clubs is a very interesting one. It's something that has happened for a good number of
years, so it's not a new idea that has taken off.

Not really trying to call out David Hirshey here....
Pele was perhaps the first to popularize "the #10"
Hirshey has written a column that suggests that the United States biggest need is for a true
#10. It's a discussion that merits debate, though I think Hirshey is too strong in his assessment
of who and where a"#10″ will come from for the States.
1. Young Nats Alejandro Bedoya, Brek Shea, and Eric Lichaj will all see the field
tonight, but none as starters all three will be used as second-half substitutes. Brek
Shea won't make much of an impact, and Bedoya will continue to prove Bob Bradley right for leaving
him off the 2010 roster.
The last U.S. national team match of the year will take place in the same country where so many
of the year's most memorable matches took place, and chances are the return to South Africa could
feature several new faces that didn't make the trip south last summer.
When the United States takes on South Africa on Nov.
After proving he can play in Sweden, rebro midfielder Alejandro Bedoya has earned a trip to the US
national team camp in Carson, California starting January 4th.
Mind you, these observations come after beers & watching the game without sound. I'm not going to
get into the obvious hoopla about the red card, I want to talk about what I saw in the US team.
- For the rest of the first half, there wasn't much to see. The US looked like pouting children
who didn't get their way.
ESPN's Soccernet has posted a really good article on young American Alejandro Bedoya and his
success with Orebro in the Swedish League. You can read all about him by clicking here.
Here's the official version from US Soccer Comeback Falls Short
AMSTERDAM (March 3, 2010) – The U.S. pressured the Netherlands late with three chances to tie
the game in the closing minutes, but could not get the equalizer, falling 2-1 at Amsterdam ArenA in
the final match before Bob Bradley selects his roster for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South
Africa.
Ryan Miller and Alejandro Bedoya will start, while Michael Thomas may make his first-team debut in
the Allsvenskan's second week.
Ryan Miller featured for Halmstad and Alejandro Bedoya for Orebro in the Allsvenskan while Nick
Noble got the start in the Swedish second division's first weekend.

Alejandro Bedoya was the difference in Orebro SK's 1-0 win over Brommapojkarna at the Grimsta IP in

are 8th in the Allsvenskanliga after six games played.

The U.S. men's national team moved a few steps closer to being a fully healthy group as recent
word out of Europe revealed that injured midfielder Stuart Holden and defender Oguchi Onyewu have
resumed full training with their club teams.

Alejandro Bedoya and Orebro will take on the team that has looked invincible so far, while Ryan
Miller and Michael Thomas visit Johann Smith in Kalmar.
