We start with troubling news from the 1-1 draw between AZ and NEC Breda in the Eredivisie.
According to reports, Jozy Altidore fell against the ad boards and was knocked unconscious. AZ was
forced to sub him out in the 35th minute for Ruud Boymans. NEC had opened the scoring in the 13th
minute, with Boymans equalizing for AZ in the 59th.
The timing could not be worse for Jozy Altidore.
With three friendlies and a pair of World Cup qualifiers on the horizon for the U.S. national
team and his club in a fight for a place in Europe next season, Altidore was forced to exit AZ
Alkmaar's 1-1 draw with NEC in the first half with an apparent head injury.
Clint Dempsey's tremendous season for Fulham has not gone unnoticed overseas after all.

their salaries cut by 75% while those earning less suffer a smaller 25% to 50% reduction. This was
thrashed out to avoid player redundancies.
News from across the pond this morning, as legendary club Glasgow Rangers FC have announced the
imminent departure of up to eight first team players in an attempt slash payroll, two of them being
USMNT players Carlos Bocangera and Alejandro Bedoya. The article from Express.co.uk writer Scott
Burns seemed to imply that is was, in fact, Bedoya who was more likely to return to MLS stating,
"It now means the likes of McCulloch, Neil Alexander, Sasa Papac, David Healy, Carlos Bocanegra and
Alejandro Bedoya – if he doesn't agree a move to the MLS – look set to be amongst the first
victims when the cuts are made.

Anywho, according to the Glasgow Rangers official site and in an interview with Jurgen
Klinsmann, Carlos Bocanegra, Alejandro Bedoya and Maurice Edu will all be selected for the US
roster for the upcoming friendlies against Costa Rica and Belgium in September.
Fulham under Chris Coleman a few years ago was affectionately called Fulhamerica because of the
distinct American look to that squad. Now only Clint Dempsey is left from the days of Brian McBride
and Carlos Bocanegra.
It's Rangers who are now providing the welcome mat for Americans.
