Several big names for the world of football turned up at the Imperial War Museum in south London
for the 2010 Military Awards last night – including D-Becks and F-Lamps. We were there too,
crouched behind a cannon, Canon primed...

This right here? It's a post for our gentleman readers. We know you're out there; we've spoken
to you before. Others of your ilk have also spoken out directly on our website.
Now, lads, we understand that (some of) you may not care to comment about short tents or WAG
fashion (though this photo of Gareth Bale's, uh, situation garnered quite the response on
Twitter).
David Beckham: Before Victoria, Madrid, Armani and LA
Tonight, David Beckham will receive a lifetime achievement award from the BBC. There are few
people that would argue that David Beckham has not achieved a lot in his lifetime. Both on and
off the field, he has left a dent not only on the game but he has also helped to shape the broader
cultural context surrounding the sport.

Becks puts on a brave face after hearing that Russia, not England, will host the 2018 World Cup
finals. Petro-dollars 1-0 Good hair.

Despite swirling speculation to the contrary, LA Galaxy star and bid-backer par
excellence David Beckham has ruled out a loan move to Everton in January
saying that a move to Merseyside would be 'too close to home', what with him being a staunch
Manchester United fan 'n all.
....yeah, how the hell IS Edson Buddle supposed to get a work permit?
Okay, the only Becks who matters has spoken out. How's this for a headline – "Franz Beckenbauer
attacks Fifa over World Cup voting process." Finally, we'll get some action. He played in the
United States. He's in our Soccer Hall of Fame.

"Nessun dorma, nessun dorma..."
Bid-backer extraordinaire, ovation milker par excellence, newly-crowned BBC 'Greatest
Single Entity in the Known Universe' and part-time LA Galaxy quarterback David
Beckham has begun touting for a return to Europe on loan during the MLS off-season in a
bid to win back his place in the England squad that's right, never give up hope Becksy,
NEVER!

This just seems about right. Each year since David Beckham joined the LA Galaxy and Major League
Soccer it seems around December or so he's looking for a winter/spring loan back to Europe. Most
people thought this year would be different since his last loan back in Europe didn't go so well as
it ended in a nasty Achilles tendon injury with AC Milan.

You don't need me to tell you that the notion of D-Becks (aged 35) getting a 'Lifetime
Achievement' award – as he did at last night's BBC Sports Personality show – is absurd. You
could tell that Sir Bobby Charlton thought as much, not only by looking at his stone face up on
stage but also when he was asked by the host to laud Beckham and could only describe him as a
"pleasant" lad.
