Reading striker Leroy Lita is a proud man, especially of his sexual exploits. The 22-year-old
apparently made a mobile sex video allegedly with his girlfriend that he then sent to teammates as
a laugh. Trouble began when those teammates sent it to friends at other Premiership clubs and now
the U21 England International is receiving taunts from players around the league.
- Poor Victoria Beckham, if moving to a new city, not eating, and having to take care of three boys
with no money for nannies and assistants wasn't stressful enough, now she's going to have to worry
whether or not her hubby really is at practice or if he's hanging out with Rebecca Loos, his
alleged ex-mistress who is moving to Los Angeles.
- Speaking of David, the LA Galaxy have added another date to their Australia-Asia tour later this
year.
The Beckhams--David and Victoria--have been in Los Angeles for barely two months, but their
individual careers may never be the same.
Mr. Beckham was injured this week as his Galaxy of the MLS fell in the first-ever SuperLiga final
to Mexican club Pachuca. The SuperLiga features midweek, inter-league play between the top clubs in
MLS and Mexican football.

Stan James original free kick challenge
Probably one of the most unique and original plays on free kicks. Not easy.
Rooney on the Rampage
Very little to do with soccer other than it uses the likeness of Wayne Rooney, who gets the idea to
head butt his opponents by watching Zidane in last year's World Cup.
The MLS will expand to 14 teams next year when San Jose returns to the league and in 2009, Seattle
will join up to make it 15. What I'm wondering is, why? If anything, the league should restructure
itself to less teams and bottleneck the already watered-down talent in the league.
I mean, are they looking to make a better product or more money?
- Not only did the Bartlett High School boys soccer team lose 2-0 to Crystal Lake South in a
tournament in which they host, but when the squad returned to the locker room they found several
personal items of their's missing. The culprits? None other than 8 players from the Morton High
School side, who had used the same locker room immediately after winning their match against Jacobs
4-0 and Bartlett had vacated it to go warm up for their match.
U.S. Crashes Out of World Cup A brilliant individual goal from Marta in the 80th minute sealed a
historic 4-0 win for Brazil over the U.S. this morning and handed the South Americans a deserved
World Cup final berth Sunday against Germany.
Bad luck, poor coaching decisions and uninspired play all combined to work against the U.S. and
gave Coach Greg Ryan his first and possibly last loss since his 2005 appointment, rendering a
two-year undefeated streak meaningless.
Didn't post as much as usual this week as I was busy with other things. Anyhow, just in case you
missed something, here's some of the highlights. Cheers and have a safe weekend.

David Beckham and the Galaxy will play a friendly against the Wellington Phoenix in December.
That's Wellington, New Zealand. The match will be part of the Galaxy's trip down under.
Not that his schedule was overloaded already.
The Galaxy had already scheduled a trip down to Australia to play Sydney FC so they might as well
take advantage and play another game.
Off the field, the Galaxy has reaped the benefits of having landed David Beckham. Their investment
has yielded tremendous ticket sales, jersey sales and unprecedented media attention (at least among
MLS teams).
On the field, though, Beckham has been a bust. He has played a total of 310 minutes over six games
and might not play another meaningful match for the Galaxy until 2008.
David Beckham's greatest contribution to MLS this season could be that he helped convince other
signings to make the leap.
If you could pick any one in the world right now to play for Chivas USA, who would it be? There
has been a lot of talk about adding a high profile player to the team next year. This player could
raise the profile of the club and bring fans to the games.
I know, Chivas USA gave up their DP slot for 5 years. I'm guessing MLS is going to somehow allow
the Galaxy to have both their DP's next year, and each team will be allowed to have two of
them.
I have to admit that I'm not so blind as to miss the reality that I'm part of the David Beckham
hype. Honestly, I cringe a little every time I read another article that mows down MLS and the
Galaxy for hyping up Beckham. Because - really, if it wasn't Beckham, would anyone bother to write
that article? Every piece talking about how built up Becks is compounds the issue - it actually
builds him up more.
- There's a good chance he's done playing for the season, but that won't keep David Beckham out of
the papers. That would be like Bush withdrawing troops from Iraq. Anyhow, first we have the
Beckhams receiving a comedy duo award nomination from Loaded magazine for their attempt to conquer
the US. According to Editor Martin Daubney, the couple have "the British public laughing" for their
embarassing exploits including Victoria supposedly having enlarged breasts and throwing out the
first pitch at a baseball game.
- A Belgium man has been arrested and charged with slashing the tires of dozens of vehicles with
France license plates in Tournai. His reasoning? That French fans were bragging during the 2006
World Cup. After undergoing a mental evaluation he was declared sane and now faces prison time.
- If you didn't know, Turkish clubs Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray have a fierce rivalry, some say one
of the most intense in the world.
Can David Beckham change the attitude of an entire country? Fergie doesn't think so and makes some
valid points:
Manchester United boss Ferguson says his former superstar can't hope to succeed where
legends like Pele and Johan Cruyff have already failed.
"David Beckham himself can't change the whole country," was Ferguson's blunt verdict on the injured
England star's £128m move to Los Angeles Galaxy.
Fergie was in his native Glasgow this week, for whatever reason he decided to open up about some of
his former players. The United manager came as close as he ever has to admitting that selling Stam
was a mistake. This is hardly news, we Reds know that, it was one of Fergie's biggest ever
mistakes.
Many fans still believe that Stam was sold because of comments made about Fergie in his book, but
this is not true as the manager later confirmed in a letter to Stam following his move to Lazio.
Pete Vagenas didn't take long to get revenge on Jesse Marsch for his foul on Beck's at the last
derby on Aug. 23; in the third minute Vagenas kicked Marsch, who retaliated by throwing the ball at
Vagenas.
End result: Marsch gets a yellow card and misses the next Chivas USA game Sunday in
Colorado.
Chivas USA had the last laugh of the first half though with a lovely (and direct) move started
by defender Lawson Vaughn.
- BBDO announced that Real Madrid has the top brand value at $1.53 billion dollars. Barcelona
finished second with Manchester United third. Surprisingly Chelsea was fourth at $828 million. For
a club that has only recently risen to the top of English football, it's marketers are certainly
working overtime. Other than the obvious benefactors of success, diversity in the squad and
offseason touring seem to be two other major contributions.
Well, it's been a long, arduous week. I feel like I've spent more time searching for videos than
actually writing, which sucks, because I enjoy writing a lot more than I enjoy searching video
engine after video engine and then watching the videos, than determining which one's I feel are
best, and then finally posting them. I'll keep doing it though because it allows me to discover and
evaluate new players.
The British were coming the British were coming.
Just a little reminder, in case you did not get the memo, Beckham's out 4 weeks with a knee injury.
What does this mean?
This means the invasion was stopped somewhere in Louisiana along the Mississippi River and those of
you in Kansas City will be spared any blood shed. This does not include your wallet.
Thanks to freedom of speech, congratulations should go out to Wizards Fans everywhere. Also kudos
to the voice of sanity in the front office.
What am I talking about? Here's the low down. An attempt to appease the fan base has been made by
the Wizards organization.
