Bundesliga new boys put Bayern in the spotlight

SoccerLens 27 August @ 03:27 AM EST

I would have thought that Franck Ribery and Franz Beckenbauer now finally agree on something. The French sensation should have been sold. Der Kaiser has watched new manager Louis van Gaal take a measly 2 points from his first 3 matches, and, following this weekend, the kings of German football are sat in a rather peasant-like 14th in the Bundesliga.

Die vorprogrammierte Krise

Bundesliga Blog 24 August @ 04:32 AM EST

Soccer Pie 30 July @ 02:44 AM EST

The transfer saga involving Franck Ribery looks set to continue. Even though the Frenchman is currently injured, speculations regarding his future are mounting. After ‘careful consideration', Bayern Munich president Franz Beckenbauer has reached a conclusion that Ribery was worth €94 million and he will be allowed to leave if any club match this offer.

Alemanha

Click to continue reading...

Ribery ist längst weg - geht auch Toni?

Bundesliga Blog 08 June @ 06:04 AM EST

Bayern oust Klinsmann, install Heynckess

In an extremely rare move for the otherwise orderly club, Bayern Munich have sacked coach Jürgen Klinsmann with just five League games to go in an attempt of salvaging the season and securing at least a place in the Champions League. Click to continue reading...

Der Kaiser is angry

Soccerblog 09 April @ 10:45 PM EST

Der Kaiser has taken an exceedingly dim view of Bayern's shellacking at the hands of Barca.

"This is a catastrophe," Beckenbauer told Premiere Television after the 4-0 defeat against Barcelona. "This is schoolboy stuff. The first half was the worst I have ever seen Bayern play."

Ouch.

Click to continue reading...

Der brutale Rensing

Bundesliga Blog 18 December @ 11:54 AM EST
Click to continue reading...

Mario Gomez stays at Stuttgart

Pro Soccer Weekly 06 September @ 12:08 PM EST
Apparently, Robinho wasn't the only big name player that Manchester City tried to recruit on the deadline day of the transfer window as ESPN reports in this article that they placed a big for Mario Gomez as well. I wonder if they also tried to recruit Pele and Franz Beckenbauer out of retirement....
Anyway, it seems that "Super Mario" wants to move on to a bigger club after the success that he has had in recent years with all of the goals that he has scored in the Bundesliga. Click to continue reading...

Jaime Carragher is still a legend

Oh, You Beauty... 03 September @ 12:00 PM EST
Well, the window's over, and I've little desire to write about how Manchester City is going to take over the world and has signed Pele, Garrincha, Cruyff and Beckenbauer or how Hicks and Gillett are furiously rubbing two pennies together in the hopes they'll multiply.
But I do want to make sure everyone's aware Carragher has an autobiography coming out (ghost-written by the excellent Brian Reade), and parts are being serialed in the Daily Mirror. Click to continue reading...

Why There Will Never Be A 'New Zidane'

Put The Boot In 24 June @ 02:40 PM EST
Comparisons between rising stars and former legends are nothing new in football, rarely do they prove to be accurate. Often used as a lazy get-out clause for coaches, spectators and journalists alike to describe a youngster's attributes, these comparisons often result in undue pressure resting on the shoulders of the players in question. Manchester United's right-back dilemma

Put The Boot In 02 March @ 06:55 PM EST
With Wes Brown's Manchester United future still in severe jeopardy and club captain Gary Neville's seemingly endless struggle to regain match fitness, the Red Devils could well be in danger of starting next season without a right-back.
