have been named the men's and women's academic soccer players of the year by the Rocky Mountain
Athletic Conference.
Aleah DeGeneres scored on a cross from Madison McQuilliams in the 103rd minute to give No. 20
Metro State a 3-2 victory over No. 11 Fort Lewis on Friday afternoon at Auraria Field. It was the
first loss of the season for Fort Lewis and marked the first time the Skyhawks had allowed a goal
in 2009.
The No. 13 Metropolitan State College women's soccer team, led by Becca Mays' three goals,
cruised to a 5-1 victory over Colorado-Colorado Springs on Friday evening in Colorado Springs. The
Roadrunners improved to 8-1-0 overall and 5-0-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while
UCCS dropped to 2-4-0, 1-4-0 in conference.

The Metropolitan State College women's soccer team scored four second-half goals to cruise to a
5-0 victory over Mesa State on Wednesday on a cold, rainy day at Auraria Field in Denver. The win
keeps the Roadrunners perfect in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Metro improved to 4-0 in
the RMAC and 7-1 overall; the Mavericks dropped to 5-3 overall, 2-2 in the RMAC.
DENVER — Senior Becca Mays scored three goals and freshman Annie Austin added two as the
Metropolitan State College women's soccer team handed the Colorado School of Mines its first loss,
a 6-1 thumping Saturday at the Auraria Fields in Denver. Mines entered the game with 4-0 record
and was ranked 20th by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
James Copeland scored as the Regis University men's soccer team tied the 15th-ranked Colorado
School of Mines on Friday in Denver.
Regis remained unbeaten in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. The Rangers' record is 4-2-3
overall, 2-0-3 in conference.
"Whenever you play Mines, it is going to be a tough match, especially when they are ranked in
the Top 15," Regis coach Tony McCall said.

accustomed to playing with poise, even when trailing.

Friday against Regis University. Mays didn't score any of her team's goals, but had a hand in all
of them as the Metropolitan State College women's soccer team scored three quick goals in the
second half for a 3-0 victory at Auraria Field in downtown Denver.

DENVER — When the women's soccer teams from Metropolitan State College and Regis University
met in mid-October at Auraria Field in downtown Denver, the Roadrunners went on a three-goal tear
in the second half.

The sixth-ranked Metropolitan State College women's soccer team stretched its winning streak to
12 games with a 3-0 win against Colorado Christian on Wednesday in Lakewood.
The Roadrunners improved to 14-1-0 overall and 11-0-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference,
while the Cougars dropped to 4-5-2 and 2-5-1 in the RMAC.
