A remarkable story coming out of Old Trafford:
Manchester United have spent £7.4m to sign Tiago Manuel Dias Correia, otherwise known as Bébé, a
relatively unknown 20-year-old from the Portuguese club Vitória de Guimarães, the Guardian can
reveal. The deal was finalised today, with the player becoming the eighth senior striker at the
club.

Homeless World Cup, recently had a makeover after joining United.
Do you think he looks better now or did he look better before?

It's safe to say that before the current season got underway, no one would have anticipated
this. In an unusually straight-forward statement made by a dejected Sir Alex Ferguson, it was
confirmed that Wayne Rooney, fondly and widely considered to be the "heart and soul" of Manchester
United, was intent on leaving the club.
Despite critics writing off Manchester United's recent signing Bebe as a failure within days of
arriving at Carrington, the 20 year old was given a vote of confidence by Portugal with his

Can you name the mystery man shaking hands with United Chief Executive David Gill? Well neither
could I until about 2 minutes ago! That's because he's apparently a somewhat (completely) unknown
striker named Bebe, who also happens to be the newest signing of Manchester United. Here are the
basic facts, as reported by a variety of news organizations:
1) Bebe's real name is "Tiago Manuel Dias Correia", and he was born on July 12,
1990.

Manchester United have now loaded up on strikers for the upcoming year by signing little known
20-year old Portuguese striker Bebe from Portuguese club Vitória de Guimarães. This is an amazing
rags to riches story of a kid that grew up in an orphanage and even represented Portugal in the
homeless World Cup.
Tor-Kristian Karlsen has given his frank opinion of Bebe during his match for Portugal's U-21
against England's U-21, where, it has to be said, Tom Cleverley was one of England's best
players.
Karlsen is a top Norwegian football consultant where transfers and scouting are concerned,
particularly focussed on Dutch football.

Manchester United completed a surprise move for Tiago Manuel Dias Correia, better known as
Bebé. The young striker is an unknown player in Portuguese football, he never
played in the Liga Sagres and joined Guimaraes 5 weeks ago from third division side Estrela Amadora
for €50,000.
Today, there are an estimated 1 billion homeless people worldwide. Homeless is not merely a
problem in Third World countries, but is global, affecting even in developed nations. The Homeless
World Cup has a vision to beat homelessness through football, aiming to provide a most basic need a
home.

Manchester United are seemingly closer than ever to wrapping up a deal for Udinese winger
Alexis Sanchez after both the player and his agent, Fernando
Felicevich, admitted that they are aware of United's interest and that, at some point in
the near future, a move to the Premier League could be a distinct possibility.

It's not your typical Manchester derby is it? Neither Manchester United nor City supporters will
be too happy to see this fixture on their calender as both prepare for the clash at the City of
Manchester Stadium. Sure, United are on a good run of form while City still lack the confidence
that should match the potential they have with such talented individuals.
It has been announced this evening that Man United will sign relatively unknown 20-year old Bébé,
subject to a medical. Tiago Manuel Dias Correia (Bébé) had been linked with a move to Real Madrid

Manchester United yesterday sensationally clinched the signing of Portuguese unknown Bebe. Based
on the recommendation of former assistant manager Carlos Queiroz, Sir Alex Ferguson purchased the
20 year old striker for a fee reported to be in the region of £7.4 million, and now everyone is
scrambling to get more details on the newest member of United.
Well he isn't German and his name's not Mesut. From the streets of Cacém, United's
last acquisition is a relative unknown, yet one tipped for future stardom. Of course, having played
the in the third tier of Portuguese football only a few months ago, there is reason to feel rather
unsure to just how is United career will pan out.
Rarely does a story read better than this. As a young boy Bebe was cared for by a charity in
Loures, Portugal. His parents were unable to consistently provide for him and so passed on the
responsibilities to a charity that claimed to be able to do just that. Upon maturity Bebe was
unemployed and living rough.
Manchester United completed the shock signing of pretty much unknown Portuguese
striker Bebe yesterday, increasing their array of young talent. With Sir Alex
splashing out £7.4million for his signature, there has to be something special
about the striker, right?
Two weeks have passed since Bebé was announced as Manchester United's latest signing of the
summer but the decision to invest £7m in the unknown Portuguese striker got even more intriguing
this week when he was overlooked for selection for a reserve game against Manchester City. Bebé
arrived in England amidst unsubstantiated reports that he had once turned out in the Homeless World
Cup, but United's coaching staff decided that he was not yet ready even for a place on the second
string's bench for the game in Hyde on Tuesday night.
Rumour would have it...
- Just like RoM revealed this time last year, Nemanja Vidic's wife doesn't give off an 'unhappy'
persona at all. She was at Old Trafford yesterday and was laughing at Vidic's chant, which was sung
repeatedly.
- The change in Nani's attitude has been very noticeable at Carrington and there were hopes that
Anderson would follow suit.
Next Friday (18h00 GMT) our under 21 team faces England at home (Barcelos). Third in the
qualifying group anything but a victory has them watching the 2011 UEFA European Under 21
championship from the comfort of their couch. If we win, we take over for England as group
runner-up and provided we win the last game (September 7th) against Macedonia we could end up as
one of the 4 best runner-ups out of 10 groups.
Despite what you may have heard, Manchester United's Bebé was included on Manchester United's
25-man Champions League's squad. Originally, it was reported by several media outlets that Bebe was
left off the list; however, Manchester United have confirmed that Bebe was infact included and the
omission was the result of an administration error by UEFA.

Manchester United beat Wolves 3-2 to-night in the League Cup at Old Trafford, with
debutant Bebe opening the scoring for United with a neat chip
over the Wolves keeper.
Bebe looked impressive and ready to prove his worth to-night but didn't play as an out and out
striker, he instead hugged the right touchline giving strike partner Macheda the central role.
It seems like we just barely finished celebrating Chicharito from Sunday and we find ourselves
shouting his name again today. The boy wonder rescued us from yet another all too familiar scenario
of relinquished leads. The comparisons to Ole are going to persist after this supersub performance
by the lethal Mexican.
In the light of negative recent press about the future of Manchester United, after the headlines
concerning the debt at the club connected with the Glazer ownership, the Wayne Rooney contract and
transfer saga and the lack of major transfer signings over the past couple of seasons, many senior
figures at Manchester United have decided to speak out and say that, actually, the future is bright
at the club and the media have it all wrong.
In early September, OTWT wrote about Manchester United signing of Portuguese forward Bebe and how
everyone needed to calm down about trashing the kid.
Bebe made Bébé made his debut for Manchester United as he replaced Park Ji Sung in the 74th
minute of a 5–2 away victory over Scunthorpe in the League Cup.

Manchester United will be sweating over the fitness of Portuguese winger Nani after he
had to leave the field early in the first-half of their 3-0 win over Turkish Champions Bursaspur
without having to break sweat, Fletcher, Obertan and Bebe with the goals but it was veteran United
Midfielder Paul Scholes who pulled the strings showing exactly why Zinedine Zidane revealed that
Scholes was the best player he ever played against.
Here's a perfect example, if one is needed, which shows that we must never, EVER automatically
believe what we read in the media. Much was made of Bebe having been a homeless Portugese kid when
Sir...
