U.S. Soccer has been coming up with some nice looking commercials lately. Here's the latest
promoting the Saturday June 6th, 2009 FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Honduras in Chicago, IL. It
features some excellent on the field footage from previous U.S. National Team qualifiers. Clint
Dempsey, Tim Howard and the B-Boys (Bradley, Bocanegra and Beasley) [.
Hola Amigos y Amigas! Today Burrito want to say how much he enjoy seeing the hot cheerleaders at
FIU Stadium on Saturday even though they show up late to game... Burrito want you to see pictures
of them from their calendar! Que chulas!
The Miami FC/FIU Cheerleaders need your helps since FIU cut their program dinero, you can help by
buying Miami FC tickets from them or buying their calendar.
A full write-up of last night's 1-0 win over Toronto coming in the next day or so, but I wanted to
post this ASAP. Deron White from the Colorado Rapids Examiner told me that he saw National Team
winger DaMarcus Beasley walking around the stadium with Cory Gibbs at tonight's game. Beasley is
currently riding the bench with Rangers in Scotland.
This post originally ran on sister site Project 2010. It's a good piece that addresses a
hot subject in US Soccer. Thus, I have reposted it here.
We'll admit that we have never been Bob Bradley's biggest fans, but we've also tried to refrain
from calling for his head.
It's a mouthful folks but we are happy to have him, Gale Agbossoumonde, standout defender for the
U.S. Under-20 National Team is a Miami FC player. Cry all you want Rev Fans he's not going to MLS,
nope.
Many might say: 'Why did he pick USL?' Well, I don't know the details except that it is a 3 1/2
year deal which will see Gale spend some time here in Miami and then move on to Brazil.

With two losses in three days and seven goals scored against its no surprise to find message boards
full angry American fans. As they passionately call for Bob Bradley's sacking and kicking Beasley
off the team (I can go for that one) we see the true passion and reactions that football causes.
"With key players such as Diego Serna out, Miami FC continued its recent strong play and defeated
Vancouver 2-1 at FIU Stadium." Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald
Things are looking good for the Blues on the field as they remain unbeaten at FIU Stadium. Miami
looked strong in the first half and could have increased the score if their players had better aim.
From time to time, especially after U.S. Men's Team matches and other big games, the Ref chats with
a seasoned USMNT observer -- the Samurai.
Samurai is familiar with the academy system and is a longtime watcher of the US team and club
soccer.
Here is the conversation after the U.
According to Rob Beasley at News of the World, Tottenham boss Harry
Redknapp wants £30 million so that he can go after three players. Redknapp said,
"I really want to try get this club back to how it was, put us back to where we think we
should be. And if I can get the three players I want in the summer I think we will have a terrific
team that can really push on next season.
So the truth of the matter is that, as I start to write this, there's still 15 minutes left in the
USA's World Cup qualifier at Costa Rica.
But the score is 3-0. The match is over. It's been over since ... well, let's just say the key
turning point in the match was the opening kickoff.
The United States was not expected by a ton of people to get a win tonight.
The United States gave a heroic effort against Italy in South Africa but as has been typical of
the US in big games, they fell short and serious questions amount the tactics persist. Fox Sports
Jamie Trecker, the Miami Herald's Adam Beasley and Hannah Lee of Forza Football breakdown the
game.
Special thanks to Hannah for co-producing this show for me and allowing us to release it in very
timely fashion!
I readily admit it. I'm not a huge fan of the US national team. I'll watch more often than not. I
even hope they win more often than not. But I'm usually watching their games with a wry, detached
smile.
And yet, I've still written about the team on occasion. The most recent post under that tag is from
the Spain-US match a year ago, and I wrote about that because I was rooting for Spain in the Euros.
Yes, DaMarcus Beasley was spotted at DSG Park with Cory Gibbs at the weekend and,
no, that doesn't mean he is set to leave Glasgow for Denver. Gary Smith, today
discussing the likelihood of the Rapids picking up a midfielder before the September 15 deadline,
dismissed speculation the Rangers player could be joining up with his good friend in Colorado.
After helping Rangers win the SPL championship, it was great to see some American pride from our
boys over there. Here's a video:
Beasley and Edu
What were the groundsmen holding them back for? Perhaps they didn't want to get those nice suits
to get soaked with beer? Well done boys!
We've entered another week of qualifying action, and of course the match on all American soccer
fans' minds is England-Andorra.... no wait, it's not. It's Costa Rica v. USA.
As I've been saying over and over again throughout this qualifying process, a road draw against any
of the hex teams bar Trinidad is a good result.
In perhaps one of the worst games played for the US National team since the loss to the Czech
Republic in World Cup 2006, the boys in red, white and blue were outplayed in almost every aspect
last night.
We didn't compete hard enough. We got beat to balls and they caused us problems we couldn't
figure out.
Don't get me wrong, I am still pissed as hell at the US, but let me clarify some things here.
I am well aware that many if not most of our players are simply not good enough to allow for us to
compete with truly good teams. Trust me, I get it. This brings me to my next point.
What infuriates me most is that Bradley's US team appears to be an accountability-free zone.
By Graig Carbino - ALBANY, NY (Oct 8, 2009) USSoccerPlayers -- Show of hands, who remembers where
they were on September 3rd, 2005? Not sure? Think Ralston and Beasley, a close-range header and a
smartly executed corner kick routine. Memories jogged hopefully by now, this fateful day just so
happens to be the last time the United States National Team qualified for a World Cup.
Good morning all. I am coming to you from San Jose, Costa Rica, where the U.S. men's national

The U.S. men's national team has one match remaining in the Confederations Cup, one last match
for players to prove themselves, one last chance for Bob Bradley to test his squad against stiff
international competition outside of World Cup qualifying.
This past weekend saw one of the most exciting and dramatic ends to group action in an
international tournament. While Group A was dominated by Spain, Group B was dominated by drama and
action.
Spain and South Africa progressed out of Group A, while it's Brazil and the United States of
America coming out of Group B.
The CONCACAF Gold Cup, our continental championship has been in full swing across the country in
the last week. Adam Beasley from the Miami Herald joins us to discuss the competition, as well as
Oguchi Onyewu's massive transfer to AC Milan in Serie A, and why Miami, a failed MLS and USL market
always draws so well for internationals.
Soccer entities have their message clear- if they can reach the youth they have a fanbase for the
future. This is what 560 WQAM personality D.A. (Damon Amendolara) is doing all over South Florida.
The former upstate New York native is in an awkward position at that station as he is a confessed
soccer fan in a sea of Dolphins and Hurricanes talk; yet he wears that "taboo" as a badge of honor.
Manchester United have blocked the proposed promotion of a Liverpool physiotherapist to work with
the England team in a move that demonstrates the distrust that exists between the country's top
clubs.
Dave Galley, who has more than 25 years' experience working as a football physiotherapist, had
expected to be part of the England medical staff for the friendly against Slovenia on September 5
and the World Cup qualifier with Croatia four days later.
UPDATE: According to ESPN Soccernet, Tottenham boss
Harry Redknapp admitted that he has used up all his funds and will have to sell
before he buys this summer. He said,
"We have spent all our money already in keeping the club in the Premier League .
Every World Cup qualifying match is important whether its UEFA or CONCACAF, whether you are in
first, or last; which is why watching the United States last night was one of the most frustrating
94 minutes since World Cup 2006.
From the outset, from the 4-3-3 laid out by Bob Bradley to his player selection, nothing seemed
to make sense.
It has been a tough week for the U.S. national team. Two games against Brazil and Italy have
produced more red cards (2) than goals (1). So what is going on with the national team? Are we
really that bad?
Lets keep one thing in mind when analyzing the U.S. performance in the Confederations Cup.
Well here we sit broken hearted paid a nickle and (only farted?) haven't scored a goal in the run
of play in 4 games.
Well its clear that we're not going to beat Egypt by a score of 3-0, and I honestly don't think
Brazil will tally more then 3 against Italy. So lets put this game into perspective, this is a game
to see who wants to step up.
We'll admit that we have never been Bob Bradley's biggest fans, but we've also tried to refrain
from calling for his head. That was until the Brazil match. Given the US's performances over
the past few weeks, it has become doubtlessly clear that our current coach is not the man for the
job.
US U-20 defensive standout, Gale joins us on the podcast to discuss:
- The upcoming U-20 World Cup in Egypt
- His childhood in Togo and Benin
- His move to the US, his youth soccer career
- His time at Bradenton and his current club Miami FC.
- His long term goals including a move to Europe and the USMNT
- Who his favorite players are in the English Premier League.
Last show of the year, people. There's news and discussion of Donovan, Holden, and Beasley, plus an
interview with an English footballer looking to play in the US and a rundown of the top five
American soccer moments of 2009.
The American Soccer Show is part of the Champions Soccer Radio Network.
Guess what happened yesterday USMNT fans!? The team that I root for in the Scottish Premiership won
a game 4-1! The defending champion Rangers got a goal from Kris Boyd, two from Kenny Miller, and
one from my boy Nacho Novo! Not since my... Read more

Ed beat me to the punch of most of my thoughts on tonight's debacle, but let me add a few
thoughts.
- This is the first time where I really thought Bob Bradley was outcoached entirely. Playing in
that environment, on this field, you don't get experimental, and you don't thin out your
midfield.
In perhaps one of the worst games played for the US National team since the loss to the Czech

According to Rob Beasley at News of the World, Chelsea are planning to bid
£45million for AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato and then loan him
back to the club for a year. An insider at Chelsea said,
"Ancelotti's so keen to capture Pato that he will pay a club record fee and still allow the
kid to stay at Milan for another season.
