I just wanted to include a link and comment on this article by Kartik Krishnaiyer on the Major
League Soccer Talk blog about Sven Goran Eriksson's early success with the Mexican national team
and how the U.S. National Team could learn from that. I essentially agree that Eriksson has done a
good job with Mexico and that I too was somewhat skeptical about this appointment when it was made.

Now that the really hard work has been done, it is time for the U.S. men's national team to
finish off its World Cup qualifying group.
The Americans can essentially do just that on Wednesday when it takes on Trinidad & Tobago at
Toyota Park on Wednesday.
We've taken the player ratings from America's most respected soccer writers and averaged them, in
an attempt to provide an informed, unbiased assessment of the U.S.A.'s performance against Cuba.
PLAYER AVG. RATING GK HOWARD, Tim 7.00 DEF BOCANEGRA, Carlos 6.00 HEJDUK, Frankie 4.50 ONYEWU,
Oguchi 5.
Here is an excellent article from Kartik Krishnaiyer on the MLS Talk blog that goes through the
differences between the managing styles of Bruce Arena and Bob Bradley, and also provides some
interesting thoughts on the recent callups that Bob Bradley has made for the U.S. National Team.
For the most part, I agree with Kartik's column, but I disagree with the comments he made about
Clint Dempsey.

Kickoff is inside half an hour, here's the U.S. line-up: Howard; Hejduk, Onyewu, Bocanegra, Pearce,
Bradley, Edu, Dempsey, Beasley, Donovan, Ching Subs: Guzan, Califf, Wynne, Clark, Kljestan, Lewis,
Johnson I highly doubt this will be a good night for the hosts. The Americans have something to
prove and Cuba aren't nearly as cultured as Guatemala.
If you're watching the US' world cup qualifier tonight, this is the place for discussion.
You'll find the lineup after the jump, and any thoughts on it are welcome. Howard
