Two days after the Comets fought back to defeat the Wichita Wings in a close game at the
Independence Events Center, the Comets found themselves having to do it again against the Wings,
this time in Wichita. Unfortunately the result wasn't the same as the Wings pulled off a 12-10 win
over the Comets to get their first win in the series.

U.S. Soccer released the roster of players called up by Jurgen Klinsmann and there are some
interesting choices. Both Landon Donovan and Kyle Beckerman are on the roster and are apparently
expected to be in camp regardless of whether or not their team makes it to MLS Cup. Reportedly
Klinsmann will be releasing that player after the match against France in order to let them return
to the United States and prepare.
Here is the roster for the 2 upcoming USA friendlies against France and Slovenia-

Who is not on this list that should be?
Good first half. Familiar lack of finishing. Weak second and predictably punished. The defense did
look better organized (at least until Bocanegra left) though uncomfortable against the quick
counter, something that should have Mexico salivating. Anyway, just a few thoughts...
* Chandler looked really impressive at the problem left back spot.
Herculez Gomez and Tecos will look for their first win of the season when they visit Michael
Orozco's San Luis while Damarucs Beasley and Puebla will look for continued success when they host
Jose Torres and Pachuca.
Luis and I were reminiscing about players who were especially effective versus Mexico, and DaMarcus
Beasley was in the discussion, though he hasn't featured for the USA of late.
This piece updates what he's doing now.
Those rampaging runs up the wing Beasley used to make?

Run DMB has a new club. After failing to make an impact with Hannover 96 last season, Beasley has
come back across the pond and signed. Since MLS couldn't or was unwilling to meet his salary
demands (expected to be $500K+ /season), he moved a little south and joined Puebla in the Mexican
Primera Division.
The Daily Mail had an interesting article today about Clint Dempsey and his future ambitions.
Dempsey said in the article: "Right now I'm thinking about Europe and playing in the Champions
League. That's a goal. Everyone wants to play at the highest level. If someday I get the
opportunity to play for a big club in the Champions League, that would be great.

Two days ago the Brotherly Game followed a trail of tweets by former Kansas City and USMNT
striker Herculez Gomez about hanging out with a group of Americans in Pachuca, Mexico. Included in
the group was former Philadelphia Union center defender Michael Orozco Fiscal, whose professional
status was a mystery until today.
According to Rob Beasley at The Sun, Arsenal midfielder
Denilson admitted that he will be leaving Arsenal this summer due to the
frustration of a lack of silverware. Denilson said,
"There's something missing at Arsenal but no one knows what it is.
An 11th minute goal from newcomer Cristian Nazirit and a 40th minute equalizer from Chance Myers
provided the scoring in the Fire's Reserve League match against Sporting Kansas City this morning
at the Toyota Park practice field.
The Fire's starting eleven included Alec Dufty in goal and Dasan Robinson, Kwame Watson-Siriboe,
Josip Mikulic, and Bratislav Ristic in defense.
As we look forward to Saturday's game against the Vancouver Whitecaps, let's mix in some news
and notes from this past weekend. The Chicago Fire academy teams faced regional rivals Chicago
Magic on Saturday, April 30th. Chicagoland Soccer has full recaps but the U-15/16 team tied 0-0
while the U-17/18 team gave up two goals in the second half to lose 2-0.
Four players from Sporting Kansas City and the Missouri Comets were given awards today by their
respective leagues.
First, Omar Bravo was given the MLS Player of the Week award for his two goal performance against
Chivas USA. There were some good candidates this week, the 2 goals in 2 games performance by
Juninho, and the feel good story of Charlie Davies, who scored two goals this week for Chivas USA.
The Comets first game winning goal at home...The Missouri Comets were happy to notch their first
home win, even if it did take overtime. " A monkey off our back, it wasn't the prettiest game out
there, but we certainly found a way to win" Coach Roentved commented post game. The Comets jumped
