The FIFA Executive Committee approved special funding for the football associations of Chile and Haiti to assist them in the reconstruction of their facilities following the natural disasters that recently hit the two countries. During the two-day meeting, the Executive Committee decided to donate 3 million USD to a special projects fund for Haiti in order to assist in the reconstruction of the football association's headquarters, technical centers and regional youth facilities.

With the Summer of 2010 now over and colder weather creeping in for many of us, we decided to have a look back to some of the action of the Euro Beach Soccer League 2010. The annual national team tournament featured matches in throughout Europe from May to August. It culminated with the Euro Beach Soccer [.

Beach soccer is becoming a very popular activity. In fact, FIFA has begun to promote and organize competitions. Despite this popularity, very little is known about the movement patterns and physiological demands of beach soccer. Researchers at the University of Basque Country and the University of Malaga in Spain examined heart rates and movements in a group of players during beach soccer matches

I am blogging at you from Southern California. My wife and I just arrived today after an early wake up call (4:45am) to catch a 7:30am flight out of New Orleans. It's been a long day of traveling but we are super excited for this year's Beach Soccer Championships in Oceanside, California.

I had a great week in Southern California last week! Early in the week I was up at the Home Depot Center and had the opportunity to interview Edson Buddle and Sacha Kljestan on our Jared Montz Soccer Podcast. Then the week finished off with the Beach Soccer Championships in Oceanside.

The tournament was awesome as usual and Al da Gator and I had a blast walking around talking to players and parents about our Online Soccer Academy and College Recruiting Websites.

Today was the last day of my first Jared Montz Pro Soccer Camp this summer!! What a great start to the summer! All the campers were excellent, well behaved and each one improved their game a lot. As a coach I couldn't ask for more.

The whole country was cheering today as Bafana Bafana took on Bleus, taking it with a 2-1 final! We ended up cheering with them near the stadium at the Durban Fan Beach. The atmosphere was cheerful as all were happy with the performance of the home country! The visual on the the beach was by far the biggest group of people I've seen cheering outside the stadium thus far.

Two weeks ago my Youth Soccer Camp in Shreveport, Louisiana took place. It was a great week! Even though the kids are looking goofy in the above pic they were a great group of kids, well behaved, didn't complain about the heat and improved their game a lot!

Last week, June 21-25, was my Madisonville, Louisiana soccer camp for ages 5-13. It was a hot week for sure and the 1st day was a rough one but I couldn't be prouder of well our players dealt with it, barely complained and strived to improve their game each day! That is what being a good pro is all about I told them, it's not about making millions of dollars and driving fancy cards.

Last week I finished the last of my five camps in a three week span. This camp was in the evenings from 5:30 8:30pm and not nearly as hot as my daytime camps. Despite the little bit of rain/thunderstorm issues we had the first 30 minutes of camp the week turned out perfect. The players were great and everyone worked really hard.

After riding on a high for the past few weeks as Brazil took on the other teams with such ease, poise, strength and passion I was very much in shock at how last nights match finished. As the people say here; it was up to the gods of football. Oh and yes; we still have 5 titles! As both teams were very strong and played hard the entire match, you just never know how it will end up, even down to the last minute on the clock.

Last week was my Mandeville July 12-16, 2010 Jared Montz Pro Soccer Camp. It was a great week and despite being summertime in Louisiana mother nature gave us a nice cool breeze all week so it wasn't as hot as usual. Our players were great as always and it was awesome to see so many players improving their game.

Last week was my Gonzales, Louisiana soccer camp. This also happened to be my last camp of the 2010 summer. We a had a great week and all the players showed a lot of improvement. One of my favorite memories at this camp was during the scrimmage one night. The youngest group of 5-7 year old's were scrimmaging.

Andrew Cole has reflected on Manchester United's time in Brazil when the club were pressured in to representing England and Europe in the World Club Championships. The competition ended in disappointment for United, after losing to Brazilian side Vasco da Gama.

"Ten years ago, Manchester United were criticised for playing in the tournament because it meant pulling out of the FA Cup," said Cole.

This weekend was our Madisonville Jared Montz Pro Soccer Camp. It was an excellent weekend. The weather was nice and cool, the players were great and it was a successful two days. Our goal is for our players to improve, my staff and I are confident we achieved our goal.
