Busy week in Major League Soccer with Champions League group stage matches, important jockeying for playoff position and the opening of Bell Pitch Downtown in Vancouver. Before we get to attendance, here are a couple of thoughts on the inagural match at the league's newest showpiece. First, it is unfortunate that the game was not part of a national telecast.

When I go see matches live, I'm usually too engrossed in the action and swept up by the atmosphere to be able to properly focus on what I'm going to write later in the match report.

BC Place is getting awfully close to opening up again in Vancouver. I noticed this post over at stadiumporn.com (awesome name btw). The light panels on the outside of the stadium are pretty sweet. And that roof. Wowzers.

For those still wondering when the Vancouver Whitecaps would end up in their real home, BC Place. The club has released this little video to show you all that they aren't that far away. I have to say the retractable roof concept there seems pretty cool.

While the preseason is interesting, it's all building up towards the actual season. Although we do know that the Whitecaps will be hosting Toronto FC in their first match, the rest of the MLS matches were a mystery until now.
