Southend welcomes BBC Essex presenter Dave Monk and his team this Sunday (21st Feb) at the Victoria
Shopping Centre, between 11am and 3pm.
As part of ‘Ditch the Diet' week on BBC Essex, Dave is getting out and about to show people how
to have fun and keep healthy without having to stick to strict diets.
Music fans in Southend and surrounding areas were spoilt for choice last night (Mon 12) as two
major acts performed in the borough. Legendary band James - who have been together for almost 30
years now - were at the Cliffs Pavilion in Westcliff, belting out hits such as 'Sit Down' and
'Laid'.
Longpier.com is delighted to welcome yet another addition to the team. 17 year old Mike Bromfield,
from Westcliff, is already making a name for himself as a presenter on BBC Essex's new music show
'Introducing...', which broadcasts on Friday nights.
Predominately, Mike will be writing gig reviews and entertainment stories for the site, and will
broaden our coverage in the Southend area.
