The news (and now confirmation) that NBC Sports has hired Seattle Sounders match commentator Arlo
White as its lead man for MLS coverage is a loss for the Sounders and their fans but a much bigger
boost to the state of American soccer commentary. White came over from the BBC but not without some
familiarity with American sport as he had commentated a Super Bowl a few years before.

It's not uncommon for American soccer fans and pundits to debate on who is the better U.S. men's

Today heralds the official second birthday of Stoppage Time International Football Blog
and I am pleased to say that the number of visits to the blog has increased significantly over the
last twelve months and I hope that the numbers will rise once again in 2012.
The first year of the blog, going from December 2009-November 2010 saw a decent number of 37,533
visits in its fledgling days.
Liverpool have announced the dates of their two-legged Carling Cup semi-final tie with Manchester

Good news for England fans today as UEFA has reduced Wayne Rooney's three match suspension has
