Upon spotting a knackered Nissan Primera stranded in the middle of the A10 yesterday morning,
Saint David Beckham of Leytonstone was only too eager to lend a helping hand.
Mr Paul Long, owner of said Nissan, described to BBC Radio the moment that the clouds parted,
choirs of angels burst into voice and Beckham swung low from his seat in heaven to mop the fevered
brow of a mere mortal:
"We were on the A10 roundabout, which was pretty dangerous, and had been stuck there for about
10 minutes.

Barnesy needed no excuse to provide the panel with a rendition of 'The Anfield Rap' on
ESPN's pitchside Casio
Derby County's flaxen-haired maiden Robbie Savage has revealed that he has
received an offer from all-new MLS franchise Vancouver Whitecaps to finish his career out in
Canadialand.
He is talented but hugely unlikeable and not just because of his stint at Arsenal. I couldn't
understand a word that came out his mouth during the World Cup when he was helping diversify the
BBC's panel of pundits. He puts in 110% for a few games a season but is largely lazy. I think that
pretty much sums up Emmanuel Adebayor.
Air blue over ex-Red Devil This sports presenter on BBC News 24 developed a nasty case of
footballer Tourette's as he reported on Eric Cantona's return to football with New York Cosmos. To
be honest, the "how cool" statement was offensive enough coming from a Beeb presenter but he
decided to drop the c-bomb as [.

Huge news from the Championship, where Doncaster Rovers have sacked their mascot of three years
after she got her wabs out for a fairly timid lingerie shoot, posing alongside the head from her
'Donny The Dog' costume.
Doncaster have announced that 40-year old, mother-0f-three Tracy Chandler has been relieved of
her voluntary duties after she 'disgraced the club' by appearing in a charity photo shoot for a
newspaper.
This from the PNE matchcast. The BBC have it as an o.g. from the keeper. Time will tell. I
hope it's his.
Liverpool's owners have rubbished suggestions that they will buy 'token' players in the summer in a
bid to crack the Asian market.
Fenway Sports Group president Sam Kennedy told BBC News that the Reds will not be signing any
players just to sell T-shirts, and that any new arrivals will be based on footballing talent rather
than marketability.
Courtesy of the BBC News business section. Revenue-wise, it's not the Big 4, but the Premiership,
the other Big 3, and Ligue 1.
And football's revenues keep climbing.
The most profitable league? Turns out that's the Bundesliga; also the league with the highest
attendance. It also outpaced La Liga whose revenue growth is concentrated around a smaller number
of clubs (Real and Barca).
Over the past few weeks most blogs have been publishing their teams and reviews of the 2010/2011
season. I thought it would be nice to do something along the same lines, but rather than toil over
a hot computer I thought I'd get the BBC to do it for me. I'm going to post season reviews of all
twenty Premier League clubs as word clouds from all of their BBC match reports for the 2010/2011
season.

>. Welcome to the penultimate part of my transcription of Alan Pardew's long and very revealing
interview for BBC Radio Newcastle's 'Total Sport'. In this one, Pardew spills the beans about
Newcastle United's alleged pursuit of Mevlüt Erdinç, and whether he or any other new strikers
might be joining joining the club before the end [.

Gareth Bale has posed in the new kit that the British football team will be sporting at the
Olympics next year as part of an Adidas promo campaign and it's safe to say that the Welsh FA are
particularly happy about it.
Their chief exec, Jonathan Ford, told the BBC:
"Gareth can make his own choices and make his own decisions.
The news (and now confirmation) that NBC Sports has hired Seattle Sounders match commentator Arlo
White as its lead man for MLS coverage is a loss for the Sounders and their fans but a much bigger
boost to the state of American soccer commentary. White came over from the BBC but not without some
familiarity with American sport as he had commentated a Super Bowl a few years before.
"Viable" parcel bombs have been sent to Celtic manager Neil Lennon and two high-profile fans of the
Glasgow club, sources have told the BBC.
Sources said the liquid-based devices, sent in the past month, appear to have been intended to
"kill or maim".
He may only be nineteen but Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is already a big character according
to team-mate Alex Song. Speaking to BBC, the Cameroon International explained that the Englishman

Jose Enrique has long been a target for Liverpool, and the left back looks to be closer than ever
to a move to Merseyside after Alan Pardew admitted Enrique has snubbed a new contract with
Newcastle.
"[Enrique] has Champions League aspirations and he is waiting to see whether anyone who has
qualified for that competition is willing to come in for him," Pardew revealed.

I'm not sure I'm going to bother giving this a misleading title like the sun, Instead
I'm going to criticise the BBC for being as funny as it is to hear your parents have
sex...yeah!
Sort it out BBC!

The latest episode of Special 1 TV has been released and it features an exclusive interview with

I'm sure you have heard on the back pages today that, Andy Gray and Richard Keys have
been accused of sexism. Here is the audio of the incident (Ignore the pointless intro)
Well done bellends!...Now for some statements via the BBC:
An FA statement said it had made "real strides in encouraging both male and female match
officials to enter the game at every level, and will continue to offer every encouragement to all
officials within the football family to progress to the highest levels possible".
Politics. All down to politics, as this blog has been saying for a while. The BBC has 'learned'
that West Ham will win the Olympic Stadium bidding process. In the language of politics, it's a
leak from a sound source, otherwise the BBC would not have gone so big on it. It will happen.
Rejoice, [...]
"News goes in cycles. One week there's the day-by-day developments of a Richard Keys and Andy
Gray scandal with more videos being released on an almost daily basis. And on another week, such as
when international fixtures happen, you can almost hear a pin drop due to the lack of breaking
news.
Out of the blue. Having surprisingly joined Arsenal to be Manuel Almunia's backup, 41-year old Jens
Lehmann ended up featuring for the Gunners, on Sunday, against Blackpool. Speaking to Arsenal TV
Online and BBC, the former ...
It looks increasingly like Guus Hiddink is poised to become the new Chelsea manager taking over
from Carlo Ancelotti. In the last couple of days there has been plenty of rumour and speculation
about Hiddink coming here.
Towards the end of last week it seemed it that the deal was more or less done and dusted after the
round of Euro 2012 qualifying games had taken place this weekend.
There is something almost ironic about writing such a post when the season is well over and
the summer sun is out (well, most of the time). You can thank Fabio Capello for bringing the
subject up again...
It's a debate that is slowly becoming a one-way argument. Sir Alex Ferguson wants it.
