This whole Russel Brand, Jonathon Ross, Andrew Sachs & Georgina Ballie (aka Voluptua) thing is just
ridiculous.
It has to be said what on earth where the BBC doing broadcasting this? It's a pre-recorded show.
Who on earth thinks that's acceptable. The only conclusion is controversy mongering and pathetic
forced outrageousness.
It's a pretty loaded day in transfer news and rumors, as there are several signings to report, and
there are a few more that could be official in the coming days. England According to BBC Sport,
Arsenal have all but tied up Marseille's Samir Nasri, as the 20-year old midfielder has reportedly
agreed a [.
This is a bit special. Not too long ago, genius BBC Radio Five Live listener Teletext Alex rewrote
Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody", replacing every single word with a footballer's name.
There's video of Alex performing his version on Danny's Baker's Five Live show on the BBC website.
But even better than that, some clever YouTuber has put [.
There's precious little to talk about today - most of it hyperbole and conjecture, with the usual
scramble across Europe for strikers and desperate pimping of stars no one wants to buy. Andrei
Arshavin has his 15 minutes of fame - the Russian was reported by BBC Radio Live yesterday to have
agreed to join [.
Pure genius! Wanted to post this for ages, but the internet police tend to keep snapping up the
videos. Hopefully, this will stay around long enough for you to enjoy it. It is absolute class. I
suggest you click Read more below and read the outstanding lyrics as you listen. If this doesn't
crack you up, [.
When FC Dallas fans watch Kenny Cooper suit up against the LA Galaxy today they may be seeing him
for the last time.
It's Done Deal according to the BBC.
(Thanks to a loyal MLSR Reader for the tip off.)
"Cardiff have agreed a £2m deal with Major League Soccer for Kenny Cooper and are
negotiating personal terms with the FC Dallas striker.
Premier League referees' chief Keith Hackett said that the goal Van Nistelrooy scored was okay after all.He looked a mile offside when he knocked the ball past Buffon.
But it appears he was played onside by defender Christian Panucci, who was lying off the pitch at the time.Take a look at the picture.
I got up this morning expecting another tense, dull day to be spattered with the occasional factual
transfer as the transfer window creaked shut getting excited about nothing much in particular. A
day spent scouring the BBC and Sky Sports transfer vidi-printers and tutting at bored 14 year old's
just texting and e-mailing rubbish to [.
Which is the better Premier League highlight show? BBC's Match Of The Day or TWI's Premier League
Review Show? Millions of people around the world watch the highlight packages that feature the best
bits of each Premier League match, so the shows should be quite similar, right? Wrong. Read on to
learn the major differences between the [.
You have to be careful when putting much stock in rumors emanating from the U.K. And even though
this one is coming from the BBC I'm still skeptical since it's listed in the "other
gossip" section, but hey, who knows. It would be a little more believable if they spelled his
name right though.
Chelsea seems to have a lot of new fans these days. I wonder if any of these three ladies can name
one player on the team...
- Toronto's coach hates his players. [SportsNet]
- Heskey's wife robbed at knifepoint. [Daily Mail]
- Q&A with Rafa Marquez. [Goal!]
- Local soccer mom steals $50K from team.
For those of you who may have missed it, I had the pleasure of being on the BBC this past weekend
for more than two hours. For the first five minutes, I was interviewed by BBC Five Live's Dotun
Adebayo about my new book, the free EPL travel guide entitled In Pursuit Of Real Football. At [...]
The BBC and UEFA have picked up on this transfer. As I wrote on Monday, this is a good signing
for us, much more high profile than I expected during this transfer window. Let's hope Kallon
gets match fit quickly. We could certainly use him in the derbies as well as against Getafe in
February's UEFA [.
Soccer fans on both sides of the Atlantic can look forward to watching England battle the United
States at Wembley Stadium. For TV viewers in the U.S., you won't find the match on Fox Soccer
Channel, Setanta Sports or GolTV. Instead, it'll be on ESPN Classic on Wednesday, May 28th at 3pm
ET. If you live in [.
If you could pick your favorite football commentators from around the world, who would they be and
why? Consider both radio and television. My fantasy lineup is as follows: Lead commentator: Martin
Tyler (Sky Sports) Co-commentator: Mike Ingham (BBC Five Live) Pitchside commentator: Stuart Hall
(BBC) Studio analyst: Andy Gray (Sky Sports) TV Pundit: Eamonn Dunphy TV Presenter: Gary Lineker
(BBC) It's [.
Looks like Paul Dickov had a change of heart about Toronto FC's Fieldturf. According to this BBC
article, the Off-again/On-again talks between Paul Dickov and the Reds are back on again. Seeing as
how this is his 2nd trip over, we have to assume that these talks are further along than the
initial ones.
If you're a resident of Los Angeles, I need you to go to the Home Depot Center and do whatever you
can to get Alexi Lalas fired. Alexi Lalas knows his team needs defenders, and he is close to
the signing of Cory Gibbs, but the BBC is reporting that LA has made an approach [...]
I saw about a week back that Cardiff was interested in Johnson, but the report was from some
tabloid newspaper, so I didn't take much stock in it. Now however, the BBC is reporting that
Johnson is in fact close to a loan move to Cardiff. If you can't trust the BBC, who can you
[...]
Cory Gibbs/BBC Sport Despite the presence of the two of the most gifted players ever in Major
League Soccer, the Los Angeles Galaxy appear to be sinking without a trace. A leaky defense and
poor linkup play have made the Galaxy at this point a side that is struggling to remain competitive
in the Western Conference [.
In Australia, Setanta Sports will be providing live coverage of Euro 2008. Most of the matches will
be on in the middle of the night, but I'm sure there'll be plenty of mad soccer fans down under
watching the games live. Be sure to surf over to EPL Talk throughout the summer for daily Euro 2008
[...]

It is possible for one team to have too many players who look good in their underwear?
I believe that generally, the answer is an emphatic no. This time, though? I'm not
so sure.
The Galaxy may find out. Various British sources, including, apparently the BBC, have linked
Swedish international and Calvin Klein undies model Freddie Yumberg Ljungberg to
the Galaxy.
Episode 105 features an interview with Tim Vickery, one of the most astute writers on the topic of
South American football and a co-host of the BBC World Football Phone-In Show as well as writer for
World Soccer Magazine and Sports Illustrated. Vickery has lived in Brazil since 1994. His knowledge
of South American football [.

In Premiership Talk's daily roundup of transfer rumors, the Darren Bent to Sunderland rumor was
brushed off a little too easily. It is now understood that Roy Keane is prepared to make Darren
Bent the highest paid player in Sunderland history.
With Kenwyne Jones set to miss the start of the season, the Black Cats are eager to add a striker
to their ranks, and Darren Bent would be a perfect fit for the northern club.
June 25, 2008 During today's UEFA EURO 2008® semifinal between Germany and Turkey, lightning
apparently struck a transmission tower in Switzerland causing short sporadic power outages in the
second half of the game. As a result, transmission of the World Feed signal was unavailable
to all broadcasters around the world, including TSN, ESPN and the BBC, [.

A full list of Oldham's 08/09 fixtures are available on the BBC website. Here is my take on what
has come out....
Image details: Vinyl Ready Art - Soccer served by picapp.com
Here are the fixtures which clash with England games, in that they kick off on the same day and
travelling time between venues is not possible to see both games, correct at the time of
writing:
- 6th Sept Tranmere v Oldham; Andorra v England
- 11th Oct Oldham v Hereford; England v Kazakhstan
The Andorra match is likely to be played in Barcelona so would nice to go to and I wouldn't
expect a shortage of tickets, Tranmere away on the same day is annoying.
Take Cardiff City off the list interested in FC Dallas striker Kenny Cooper. Welsh side Cardiff
City says they have given up on signing Cooper in this summer. "I've ended the Kenny Cooper
thing. It's been dragging on for too long," Cardiff Manager Dave Jones told the BBC.
"Regardless of everything else that's been said I've [.
Thought for the day: If you were an alien that landed on earth and were forced to watch the Sky

games? The answer is [.
For the last couple of days I've been on a course at Elstree in Hertfordshire. It was my first
visit to this particular site and during yesterday's lunch break, I took advantage of a break in
filming to go and have a look around the EastEnders set.
I waved to Stacey (Lacey Turner, who incidentally pulled up in a very swish new blue Peugeot), Roxy
(Rita Simons) and Steven (Aaron Sidwell) and surprisingly they waved back before going back inside
for their next shoot.
BBC online is reporting that Chelsea are eyeing Steve Kean for a possible senior coaching role
at the club. Let me be the first to say: Who?
Kean, currently an assistant at Coventry City, has been the No. 2 to Cookie Coleman since his
stoic days at Fulham. During his playing career Kean spent time with Celtic and in Portugal with
Académica de Coimbra.
The jewel in Russia's crown made his Euro 2008 debut against Sweden after missing the first two

In a famous passage in Don Quixote, the adventurer attacks windmills who he believes to be giants.
Of course the windmills were not giants. They were harmless windmills. He invented an opponent and
attacked that opponent to prove his worthiness as a knight. Now we'll jump to 2008 and BBC
columnist Phil McNulty inventing his own giants.
