In the midst of the ongoing Moreno saga, a bit of "good news" came out of the Revolution camp today as the club have announced the signing of French striker Saër Sène from Bayern Munich on a free transfer. The player had recently been in camp with the Revolution in Arizona, and after watching him both on and off the field, Revolution GM Michael Burns commented "We believe he'll play a valuable role for us this season.

Below are my weekly power rankings for the top (8) clubs teams in UEFA. These rankings are a combination of their play in domestic and UEFA competitions.

Real Madrid continue to be in the top spot while there's little change in the rest of the power rankings.

It shouldn't come as any surprise that the same twenty-five in clubs from last week's rankings are all in this week's edition. That's been pretty standard recently. Nevertheless, there was more movement than usual this week because of movement at or near the top of the tables in several of Europe's top leagues.

Another Monday is upon us, but let's at least start the day gently with some morning loveliness by way of Phil Jagielka on a zebra bed.

Pull out those curlers and get the coffee on, Kickettes, we've lots to catch up on today.

Oh, and yes, we are still intoxicated from this weekend's games.

'Twas a pretty pap game all-in-all, but Bayern Munich lost 1-0 to FC Basel in Switzerland last night thanks to a goal from young Valentin Stocker, with the German giants' misery being compounded by the furore surrounding an incident in the 71st minute, when Franck Ribery was hauled off and failed to shake hands or make eye contact with coach Jupp Heynckes on his way to the bench.

Catania 1-1 Roma

There were only twenty-five minutes to play in Catania and Roma's rescheduled match from January, but this was long enough for Erik Lamela to show off his assets to the fullest.

Audit and financial advisory firm Deloite & Touche released it's football money league rich list yesterday with La Liga club Real Madrid topping the list for a seventh successive year. Closing following Madrid in second was fellow Spanish club Barcelona.

United came in third on the list, however, it is the dominance of English clubs in the top ten that has got people really talking.

Spanish club Real Madrid has for the seventh consecutive year topped the football rich list this is according to auditing and financial advisory firm Deloite &Touche. Madrid posted a turnover of £433m for the 2010/2011 season to finish first ahead of arch rivals and fellow Spanish side Barcelona who came in second with revenues of £407m.

The two English giants battle Sunday at Stamford Bridge in a nationally televised game on the Fox network, with United looking to maintain its place atop the league while dealing perhaps the final blow to Chelsea's faint title hopes and forcing the club into a fight for a place in Europe next season.

Clint Dempsey will try to keep his torrid hot streak in the English Premier League going against a Manchester City side looking to hold on to first place in one of today's best matches.

The Cottagers are in need of points to move further away from the relegation zone, but earning any in Manchester against a City side coming off a loss to Everton won't be easy.

We had a lot of cancellations this weekend across Europe due to snowstorms, particularly in France and Italy. I'd be hard-pressed to say, however, that those missed matches had much of an affect on the rankings.

The German Bundesliga this Saturday saw the table open up amongst the top four after Borussia Mochengladbach thrashed Schalke 3-0 at Borussia-Park Saturday to keep them in the running for the title while giving a huge dent to Schalke's title hopes.

Leaders Dortmund were 1-0 winners over Leverkusen to maintain their 2 point lead over Bayern Munich who were also winners after they beat Kaiserslauten 2-0 at the Allianz Arena.

In this week's rankings, Manchester City move up to 2nd place as Barcelona continues to struggle in La Liga.

Speaking from a purely personal point of view I desperately want Harry to stay and as such, you won't have seen too much in the way of managerial speculation on these pages. However, it was interesting to note the rumours concerning Jurgen Klinsmann and in particular the suggestion that he was putting his name in the frame followed by a subsequent denial.

Next to Luis Suarez and his recent actions, fellow South American firebrand Carlos Tevez suddenly looks like a misunderstood little pussy cat (ish). However, having been left out in the cold by Roberto Mancini and after seeing potential moves to Serie A and Ligue 1 fall through, the pitbull striker has now returned to Manchester with his passion for the game apparently restored.

What an exciting and challenging game we can anticipate tonight. A return to the scene of the European recognition of Fabregas's genius (sorry GM!). That night is etched in the memory alongside so many other astonishing and unexpected Arsenal victories win this and we may get a repeat of the TH inspired win in the Bernabeu!

Saër Sène, the New England Revolution's new striker, might be 6-foot-3, but despite that large frame the French striker isn't a typical target forward.

Instead, Sène, who has spent the last two seasons with German side Bayern Munich II, will help the Revs by using his skill and pace to get behind the opposition's defense, according to head coach Jay Heaps.
