Congratulations to FC København for becoming the first Danish club through to the last 16 in
the UEFA Champions League era. This goes down as one of their biggest successes in European club
competition since they reached the quarter finals of the UEFA Cup (1991/92) prior to their
merger.
Ah yes, the merger.
The draw for the first knockout round of the Champions League is scheduled for Friday in Nyon.
Who do we fancy in the Sweet 16?
Eyes are firmly focused on our weekend tilt with Manchester United. As they should be. But there
is a small, intimate ceremony sponsored by FIFA on Friday.
Bayern München are interested in unsettled Liverpool right-back Glen Johnson, according to German
sources.
The 26-year-old appears to be on his way out of Anfield, and Liverpool are said to be in the hunt
for a replacement, accepting that Johnson wants to leave.
Real Madrid and Juventus FC Torino are also reportedly after the England man, who Liverpool has
valued at €14 million.
