After his penalty miss on Saturday night, Bastian Schweinsteiger hasn't been in
the best of moods. Naturally, the German tabloids decided to stalk the defender on Sunday morning
as he walked his dog wearing the worst outfit ever assembled. Well, to be fair, after
you've lost such a painful Champions League final 15 wasted corners and
all the last thing you'll care about is your shirt or the fact you look like Eminem's hobo
brother.
Borussia Dortmund continued their incredible unbeaten Bundesliga run since September but were
held to a 4-4 draw by the visiting Stuttgart at Signa Iduna Park.
After a toughly contested opening half hour, Shinji Kagawa opened the scoring for the hosts and
Jacob Blaszczykowski doubled their advantage four minutes after the interval.
Hannover 96's trip to Bavaria was all in vain as they fell short against Bayern Munich courtesy of
goals on either side of the half by the hosts.
Just two of the weapons...
Addition by subtraction for Jose Mourinho?
It's a big moment today for Barca. The Nou campers just crested a double-digit deficit to Real
Madrid in La Liga with Real Madrid's talent it's hard to see Mourinho's troops dropping that
trophy. Gulp.
The Champion's League is where Barcelona must make their name this year.
With New Year's come and gone, all Bundesliga teams have ended their brief winter vacation and
have traveled to training camps in much warmer climates than Germany. Many teams have already
played warm-up test matches and have begun running out their newest winter signings. The second
half of the season begins with match day 18 on January 20.

What with him still carrying a fair bit of sway down Naples way, it wasn't particularly
far-fetched that Diego Maradona should turn out for Napoli's Champions League tie with Bayern
Munich in Bavaria t'other night.
So, when a gaggle of fans spotted Maradona milling around the beer halls of Munich before the
game they understandably got a little excited and started swarming around him, hoping to get a
photo of the diminutive Argentinian legend.
Bayern home games have a fascination of their own. For the past couple of
seasons I developed the habit of watching the first half of a FC Barcelona game to cap off a hectic
and unpredictable day of Bundesliga action. I did it less for the uncertainty of the result, but
the uncertainty of how many goals Barca could score before the break.

Bayern Munich youngster Thomas Muller has revealed that he turned down the opportunity to join
then-Barclays Premier League champions Chelsea in the aftermath of Germany's impressive 2010 World
Cup campaign.
Muller, who won the Golden Boot with his five goals as well as three assists in South Africa,
contributed to the demolition of Argentina and England before the Germans exited the tournament
with a 1-0 defeat to eventual champions Spain.
Clive Brunskill/Getty Images (Bleacher Report) Bayern Munich star Franck Ribery has become one of
Chelsea's most recent surprise targets after Caughtoffside.com have broken speculation that the
Frenchman is the subject of a £35 million bid.
The Frenchman could be brought in to start taking the place of Florent Malouda who is getting up in
years at 31.

On this week's main report, Hans, our German correspondent spotlights Bayern Munich, a team that
has had a fantastic start to the season in the Bundesliga and the Champions League.
Following the latest development in the Cesc Fabregas transfer saga, which suggests that Arsenal
are finally ready to negotiate the sale of their skipper to Barcelona, speculation is rife about
the identity of a big-name replacement being targetted by manager Arsene Wenger.
In the past, Wenger has been known to prefer developing young players rather than buying
immediate replacements for former stars such as Thierry Henry and Mathieu Flamini.
TSV 1860 München, commonly known as 1860 Munich is a German sports club based in Munich, Bavaria.
The club's soccer team plays in the second tier of German soccer, the 2. Bundesliga, following
relegation from the Bundesliga at the end of the 2003/04 season. TSV finished the 2010/11 season in
9th position in the [.
One striker that should be interesting Newcastle is 6'4″ German international Stefan Kießling.
Stefan Kiessling could be back up plan if bigger names don't arrive Kießling hails from Bavaria
and turned 27 in January of this year. So he may be slightly too old as a possible target but
seems to have blossomed as [.
It has come to pass, then, that German football sees its first Arab investor with last week's
announcement that Hasan Ismaik bought a 49% ownership stake in 1860 Munich. The thirty-four year
old Jordanian reportedly signed away €18 million in order for the Bavarian club to avoid a
calamitous descent from the 2.
Liverpool had a January offer for Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez rejected, it has emerged.
BBC Sport reports that Chelsea also made a move for the German, but Bayern resisted the temptation
to sell Gomez, with the Blues then switching their attention Fernando Torres.
Gomez, 25, moved to Munich from Stuttgart in 2009 for a Bundesliga record fee - reportedly in the
region of €35 million - but struggled to make a significant impact during his first season at the
Allianz Arena.
Ahead of switching sides from Bayern Munich to AC Milan, Mark Van Bommel attended FC Bavaria's
basketball game as the team's guest of honour this past Monday evening. We have no clue who the two
giddy guys are in the middle, but far right Thomas Mueller seemed to be paying more attention to
his cutie patootie wife, Lisa, than the game even when Mark Van Bommel was called on court for
shooting practice.
