Tras el
pésimo Torneo de Apertura 2011 que protagonizó el América,
Michel Bauer
decidió renunciar al cargo que ocupaba en la presidencia del club.
"Tomamos decisiones difíciles, pero importantes para el futuro del Club América, hoy se toma una
decisión difícil que es hacerme a un costado como Presidente del Club", anunció Bauer en la
empresa televisora propietaria del equipo.
Sin argumentos que con que rebatir, el técnico de América, Alfredo Tena no dudó en coincidir con
Emilio Azcárraga, dueño del equipo, en el sentido que este Torneo Apertura 2011, ha sido un total
al fracaso al ser incapaces de levantar el título."Por supuesto que sí, es un fracaso total,
haremos ante Cruz Azul nuestro mejor esfuerzo, tratar de dar una alegría, pero el jefe tiene
razón, no nos salvamos y habrá que analizar bien el fracaso para que no se repita", dijo.
Azcarrga le dijo a Bauer:
