interview, Newcastle's manager says "there are certain balls you can't defend against Andy Carroll,
because if the delivery is right and he gets at them in a certain angle there's nothing you can
do.
Who knew there's a full slate of games in the Premier League, Serie A, Ligue 1, Spain (Copa del
Rey)? Though to tell the truth, not a whole lot of must-see TV today. Actually the one match today
that we will try to watch just kicked off, so this will have to be a very quick post:
Udinese-Juventus at Stadio Communale Friuli (12pmET, Fox Soccer Channel, RAI
Internazionale, ESPN3 USA, FOX Deportes): 3rd vs 2nd Udinese with 31 points, two behind
Juve, who are in turn a point behind table-toppers Milan.

It's been a tough week to be a Wolves fan.
The revulsion towards the behaviour of a significant section of Wolves supporters has been
widespread – and the criticism has been coming from all angles.
Barry Glendenning of the Guardian called the fans "clowns", ESPN's Daniel Pountney suggested
they "grow up" and the WSC message boards were alive with the hot topic: "Are Wolves fans
fickle?

Glendenning on Twitter Good news: for any of you who may have been concerned by murmurings from the
ATP Tour that Andy Murray, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Roddick may be about to lead a
players' revolt and set up picket lines around tennis courts around the globe.
Listening to the Guardian's Football Weekly's EPL preview podcast at the gym last night, I
figured to hear a sentence or two about our season outlook. Instead, we got the last word.
As in, only the final few words spoken in the entire 45 minute podcast.
I don't have the transcript but the last 30 seconds or so go something like this:
James Richardson: Well that should wrap things up
Barry Glendenning: I bet we missed a team
Gregg Roughley: Haven't mentioned Fulham
Sean Ingle: Or Wolves
Barry Glendenning: Fulham and Wolves!
James Richardson is a multimedia juggernaut for the Guardian. He hosts their Football Weekly
podcast ("James Richardson, Barry Glendenning, Sid Lowe and the rest of the Guardian's football
writers bring you their Sony award-nominated, twice-weekly podcast mixing puns and punditry, a
round-up of all the action from the Premier League and around Europe") and also does a weekly
video European newspaper review.
